Just discovered your channel. I look forward to seeing more! I just completed one year of attempting to garden in Florida and I've learned more from a couple of your videos than any other. One day I'll have a Florida Forever Food Forest!
I live in Florida zone 9b. I didn't know you could grow some of the fruit trees/plants you mentioned. I grow pineapple, bananas, papayas, blueberries, strawberries, meyers lemon, lime, and calamondin, Florida cranberries (Jamaican Sorrel) I would love to add some fig trees to my garden. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful !! Enjoyed your nicely produced, no fluff, no bs, genuine video ! I live & garden (nearly 25 yrs !) in the interior, hot desert of Metro Phoenix, Arizona. We have a lot of our own challenges; some of them are similar. Takes some effort--but also grow Katuk here !! I watch a lot of Floridians, as we can grow many of the same things, once we augment our soil & climate !
I'm in NW Florida, previous owner of our home planted Fig and Loquat trees. The figs are always awesome when they get rip and we have to race to get to them before the birds eat them all. The loquats are so good when we do get them but the past two seasons they haven't had as much fruit. The fig and Loquat trees also do much better in our cold snaps we get, unlike the Lemon and peach trees we've lost due to a ice storm a few years back.
Hey Christina Always nice to see you. Your mom should be a yt star in her own right. What a garden. Would have been nice to "meet" her. Thanks for the tour.
Love finding other gardeners in central Florida! Thanks for sharing this garden tour, I've just added shampoo ginger to my garden and I'm looking forward to when it settles in and starts blooming.
Just subscribed, came across your channel and my daughter would feel right at home in your yard. Florida soil is very tricky and amazing how you are growing lots in pots. I've have a big back yard and would like to start planting stuff. I appreciate you mentioning the medicinal plants, I was blown away about the shampoo plant!
Nooice! 😎 STOC Hello fellow Floridian! Thanks for sharing the info. We are doing the best we can to build a natural and diverse food forest an hour northwest of Orlando. I appreciate learning what works. Best regards! d
Just subscribed to your channel. I love the garden. I have my mini-garden, too. We are in the east coast as well in Florida, more than an hour from Orlando. I hope to see your place. 😊 ❤
I’m in Florida (brand new to gardening) and feel like nothing survives in my yard. This is so impressive! I’ll have to keep trying. But I clearly need more trees!
Your moms garden is amazing and your knowledge is incredible. I live in Miami but want to buy some land up north in Florida to farm and have an amazing garden like this. If you know of an area that would be great let me know. Keep up the good work . Bless up!!!
A series of short videos on how to manage maintain so many plants in such high density. Just keep the focus on a few key plants or sections of the garden so that theme of each video is clear and inspiring.
Great Video I’m a new subscriber and wanted to know what garden zone are you in and what zone is your mom in. I live by the coast but on the west side I don’t get much rain where I live but will be moving to my final forever home where I will homestead livestock and permaculture my heart out along with regular vegetable gardening.
so glad we found you, RUclips has taken nearly two years to find someone in Florida zone 9 that cane share some practical advice for this growing zone, The algorithms do work, one just has to keep searching. We are at the lower end of Highlands Cnty surrounded by the dying orange groves :-( We sit on 1.6 acres and moved here to grow our own food. We/ve live here 5 yrs and have a Jackfruit tree with three huge jackfruit. It's first fruiting. We have avocado first years we will harvest. It is a labor of cove but moving forward will be nicer with your well put together videos. Tomatoes AUGH Ssad we only have good production from cherry or grape tomatoes. All others die or become diseased before fruit is large enough to harvest.... Any wisdom on growing tomatoes?
I live in east south fl as well, zone 10b close to Hollywood. We have almost the same plants in our garden. You're mom and I am sure dad, has done a wonderful job! Looks like we have the same garden beds as well. Could you tell me what type of blueberry and grape she is growing in south florida? So glad to see someone successful growing food in south florida! It's not easy! 🍇🥑🍌🍅🫑
Just found your channel and I'm super impressed! We live in Florida and want to learn how to grow like you. How do you get your bananas to grow so many?!? We have banana trees, but only get 2-3 bunches per tree.
Wow, beautiful ❤. I guess Raccoons are not bothering you, and the association is telling you what to do!! Raccoons are my first enemies in southern Florida 🥵
Divine Love! 💚🕊🧚♀️ I live in Central West Florida. I have a few fig trees, and have learned that figs like a lot of sun, mulch and consistent watering. You can also plant pruned branches and grow new trees. Happy Growing! Life, Love & Peace, 🌻💚🌳
We started it from seed. You can get Ashwagandha seeds from Southern Seeds ($1.95 for 30 seeds). I like their seed catalog because I feel like their seeds do much better in our climate.
Wow! Beautiful and impressive food forest. May I ask, how does your mother control pests? It seems lkke every time I try to grow food, the bugs take over and ruin it. ( I'm in Brevard County by the way).
Thank you! She built up her soil using LOTS of organic matter (leaves, grass clippings, kitchen scraps, etc). She regularly throws sourdough discard and kefir leftovers into the garden. For stubborn pests she uses sulfur powder.
Türkiye incirini florida da görmek güzel harika video için teşekkürler. Nitrojen için hangi ağacı yada çalıyı kullanıyorsun nitrojen fiksasyonunda yerli florida bitkisi varmıdır?
Divine Love! 💚🕊🧚♀️ Christina mentionned she uses the mexican sunflower for green manure or chop n drop. Here in West Central Florida we use mexican sunflower, pigeon pea, and moringa for nitrogen fixers. Happy Growing! Life, Love & Peace, 🌻💚🌲🌿🌳
@novembersunflower968 Sorry, I wrote in Turkish because my internet is not enough Thank you very much for your reply They are all wonderful plants I know most of them 🌺 May your life be healthy and peaceful İnşAllah. 🌿
Be careful with the katuk.. It took over my entire yard. 😭 I love the flavor but because I have low blood pressure I can't consume too much of it. It's perfect for people with high blood pressure though. My mother consumes it to manage her high blood pressure.
I've found that raised beds are impossible here in Central Florida. Roots from the surrounding area quickly invade the soil and choke out everything else. Even my 25 gallon pots have to be put up on blocks off the ground. Tree roots find the drain holes and invade the pot. Have you had the same problem?
Passion fruit should be allowed to fall off the vine to ensure that they are fully ripe. If you have to pull or cut the fruit from the plant then it means that they will be very tart and not pleasant unless you’re into sour tasting fruit.
I'm near Oviedo. I experimented with pinto beans I bought from the grocery. The plants are beautiful and there are a lot of blooms. But not the first bean. A pepper plant is producing fruit, so the problem isn't pollinators, (or lack of) Outside of the heat or possibly GMO process in the beans I used as seed, what else could cause this lack of productivity?
Divine Love! 💚🕊🧚♀️ Could be gmo or sterilized by roundup. Almost all commercial crops are sprayed with with roundup/glyphosate before harvesting.. even some organic.. 🙄 You could try some organic beans and see if you have better results. Happy Growing! 🌻💚🕊🌳
Divine Love! 💚🕊🧚♀️ I also live in that zone. I found my figs like a lot of sun, mulch and water.. but don't like their roots to stay wet. Happy Growing! 🌻💚🕊
If you're looking for a gardening community and you're in southern Volusia County, check out the Oak Hill Community Garden. They just started it a couple years ago and are in desperate need of volunteers.

Nothing wrong with a longer video. ATB
Wow, the florida backyard is incredible

I am inspired. I have such a small yard. You have definitely encouraged me. I am in Orlando too.
You can do it! Try growing vertically where you can.
@@foreverfoodforest thank you!

Hi, beautiful garden
Very cool. Feeling inspired 😊
Wow.. just wow!
What a great channel!
We got mostly sugar apple trees (in containers), star fruit trees, sapodilla, figs, banana and dragon fruits and a curry tree 😁
I’m in Florida (brand new to gardening) and feel like nothing survives in my yard. This is so impressive! I’ll have to keep trying. But I clearly need more trees!
There is a native plant in Florida called Christmasberry, it is a relative of the goji berry and the berries taste like little salted tomatoes.
ur mom is amazing
Amazing 😊❤

“It’s full of ants” fruit always goes good with a protein 😂
😂 True.
kebun anda sangat cantik dengan varian tanaman yang tumbuh dengan subur
Very good
Neem also does well here if you don't have one yet. It's a really useful medicinal tree. Such a beautiful and inspiring forest!
Good to know!
Nice!!
Grow those gojis in a pot - they like to travel! :). Thanks for the video.
Nice!🎉
Dios te bendiga 🙏❤️🔥 Nice 👍👍👍👍
Nice video! I'm working on my food forest in Dover, got a way to go to catch up to that beautiful garden. Thanks.

Amazing tour! How big is her land?
Thanks! It's on a standard residential lot, so around 8,000 sf if you don't include the house.
With all that water you should grow Malabar spinach

What a terrific garden. Where did you get your Ashwaganda plant? My Florida yard has a lot of shade - Thanks for showing us around!

How do you get your bananas to grow so many?!? We have banana trees, but only get 2-3 bunches per tree.
Love your garden
How do you keep ahead of the iguanas? They have invaded S Florida yards eating most of the edible plants
Wow, beautiful ❤. I guess Raccoons are not bothering you, and the association is telling you what to do!! Raccoons are my first enemies in southern Florida 🥵
Love raccoons, they were there before you so learn to share and live in harmony.
Beautiful! I can't seem to get my fig tree to grow. I'm thinking of moving it to another area to see if that helps

They are!

What soil do you use in the beds? Any fertilizers or only ur own compost ?
I'm north west Florida - my cherries are tart any tips or resources?
Is that south florida? Or central? Also what kind of grapes are those?
If you allow the passion fruit to drop off the vine it will be alot sweeter😊❤

Which County ? Which City ?
Omg!! Yes!! My dream!!! I have no clue where or how to start. Help, please.
awesome video. I just found your channel. I have a similar channel encouraging people to grow their own organic food. I'm in Palm bay
The best time to eat the passion fruit is when they get wrinkley , then their sweet and not so tart.
I've found that raised beds are impossible here in Central Florida. Roots from the surrounding area quickly invade the soil and choke out everything else. Even my 25 gallon pots have to be put up on blocks off the ground. Tree roots find the drain holes and invade the pot. Have you had the same problem?
Passion fruits are ready when they are wrinkly & fall down
Fig heist 2024 🤣
That is my dream place, but worried about snakes
It's not so bad, they mostly keep to themselves!
Passion fruit should be allowed to fall off the vine to ensure that they are fully ripe. If you have to pull or cut the fruit from the plant then it means that they will be very tart and not pleasant unless you’re into sour tasting fruit.
I've never seen wormwood. Only heard of it biblically lol. Looks a lot like parsley
It has the same leaf shape and growth habit as parsley, but the color is more bluish/sage.
Hello ,I live in Miami and Orlando. What trees do you recommend with high yeilds
Divine Love! 💚🕊🧚♀️ Mango, Avocado, Lemon, Lime, Loquot, Moringa,..It will also depend on your soil and the amount of sun. Happy Growing! 🌻💚🌳🌿

Could be gmo or sterilized by roundup. Almost all commercial crops are sprayed with with roundup/glyphosate before harvesting.. even some organic.. 🙄 You could try some organic beans and see if you have better results. Happy Growing! 🌻💚🕊🌳
@novembersunflower968 thanks. My tomatoes are incredible right now. I'll try some black beans for summer.
Can u suggests container fruits. For a small space
Seasons wise or weather wise Zone in America?
Do you have avocado in your courtyard
Where can I get some nettle plants here in Florida?
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Do snake hide in your garden, what part of Florida is this garden.
Zone 9b none of my figs survived. Tried planting in ground. Tried pots. Had 6 plants one is alive in a pot.
Divine Love! 💚🕊🧚♀️ I also live in that zone. I found my figs like a lot of sun, mulch and water.. but don't like their roots to stay wet. Happy Growing! 🌻💚🕊
4: 33 can we buy the banana plant this variety from th front page
I live in panhandle Florida
Do you/does she take volunteers? Looking to learn and connect to community. It’s my dream to have a food forest 🤍

@@foreverfoodforest Thank you so much for this recommendation!
Allow the passion fruit to age & wrinkle, then it's ready.
Wow i saw a lion. 3:26
aaa-lr1du, what are you on, its a cat😅
Tell me what ants taste like 😂😂
the plant you called A Peanut Butter its actually Katuk,,and it tastelike a green peas, not a peanut butter
