I purchased the Varla Eagle One and received it at the beginning of August. So far I have 230 miles on the thing and have had 2 rear flats whilst commuting home from work, about 3 and a half miles one way. I have literally ridden it home on the flat, once in some serious rain on a flat. The thing is like a tank so far. I have noticed that e scooter motors don't like sidewalks where that are sectional breaks in the pavement, I notice that the motors will sometimes slightly stall as if the bumps are causing a break in the signal feed or something. People like to try and ride these things on all types of terrain but I feel these are clever marketing schemes to get people to purchase. I think if you treat the scooter with care and maintain it properly you will get good and long life from the product, there will always be faulty parts in man-made products. How do you like the Burn E, really loving the looks of that, as I am already looking to upgrade and test out some other brands.
Since adding "Armor Dilloz" to my Lightning+ (a close cousin) have not had another flat. Recommend. Not cheap but about the same price as that first Uber ride home.

yes, it's better to wait and read up on reviews. From personal experience, all Chinese scooters have issues, and most of them are apparent to the user after only a few weeks. The long term assessment of these scooters will be brutal. What a waste of money. The best bang for the buck seems to be at $500 and under. More than that you get the same flawed designs and issues just bigger battery and more motor(s) capacity and higher chance of death.
@M N I was thinking the same thing. You can find a bad review on anything. Nothing is 100% flawless. absolutely nothing! It's way more praises and positive reviews than bad ones on this scooter. That's how you judge reviews.
@@Justmyopinionlol Problem with $500 and under is they only do 15-18mph and most people need something faster to keep up with local traffic that is 30-35 mph. So why are people complaining about the Apollo Phantom like it's a complete junk?!?! @@brotherlyelectric3969 I bought an aftermarket horn from Aliexpress for like CAD43 and it was loud as hell. I didn't get a flat yet (knock on wood) and my delivery was only postponed once from May to June. So, it's really not a big problem for me. From what I guess, Apollo probably sold at least a thousand or two of Phantom as pre-orders and so far I saw complaints of 3 cracked stem bases, more complaints for paint chips, rubbing fenders, bent rotors, etc., which appears to have happened with other renowned brand scooters. So, I don't see this as a big problem comparing to the number of units they sold. For most Phantom owners, looks like they are happy with what they received.
@Wandering Wombat To be honest, I like my Phantom but if I knew about the Vsett 10+ before I got my Phantom, I'll probably go with the Vsett because I now realized that it's an improved version of the Zero 10X and it has a bigger battery. Again, it's hit and miss if the scooter you are receiving will be in perfect condition (which I doubt from what I have seen on many posts) regardless what brands you are getting.
@Wandering Wombat I do enjoy my Phantom. I'm an occasional rider and the longest ride I had since I got my scooter is 14km. I do keep track of the range every time after I charged it. FYI, I'm about 215 lbs and always ride it on Gear 2 in sports mode in area with mostly flat land and occasionally 10 degree slopes. I don't drain my battery and will stop riding when the battery level is about 20ish% and could still get an accumulated mileage of over 40km. As I have said, if you ask me now, I'll go with the Vsett 10+ simply because of a bigger battery and a collapsible handle bar (plus knowing the fact that it's an improved version of the Zero 10X). Having said that, I like the stealth look of the Phantom.
@Wandering Wombat I personally don't feel any difference in acceleration rate (not sure if it will be more obvious in Gear 3). I'm not sure how is it comparable with Samsung or LG batteries but I assume they are of comparable quality.
