    Hey Cam, as an owner of MANY Hue lights (and I just bought my first set of outdoor lights and my 2nd bridge) - I have to say this was the best "here's how I did this" videos for Hue I've ever seen. You really helped me plan my future outdoor adventures, and I appreciate you taking so much time to document this! Beautiful work, beautiful backyard. Nice work with the Moon, too. THANK YOU CAM!

    Wow! That Gazeebo view with the moon was sooooo sexy! I need to put one in my back yard for me in the Mrs. We have about 18 hue lights in our home so far, but it's time for the outside.

    I have been with Hue since 2013 and LOVE THEM. Just moved into our newly built house the end of October 10/27/22 to be exact. I now I have HUE outdoor lights. Did you bury the cables? What about the connectors? I am in Vegas and have desert landscaping so the black cords are an eyesore....

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  Год назад +2

      Congrats! Yes, I buried most of the cables or hid excess wire & connectors under bushes. Honestly, even though the cords might stick out a bit eventually you just top seeing them.

    Question @2:40 top left hand corner - is that the lightstrip controller connected in series?
    So can you power one or more lightstips and a lamp from one power supply [with extensions and T-junctions etc]

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  2 года назад

      Yes, that's correct. However, I think you hit the max capacity with a longer power strip though.

  • @peterdavis2305

    The lights look great. Are those hue fixtures on the gazebo, or, just regular fixtures with hue bulbs?

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  4 года назад

      Just regular fixtures with the hue bulbs (although Philips does make some very cool Hue fixtures now).

  • @mikebrodner
    @mikebrodner 2 года назад

    So the small power supply box is an actual mini transformer? No need to buy and install a transformer? I also noticed you did not trench or bury the wires. I’m assuming everything is waterproof?

    are the outdoor wires water proof ? where did you get them?>? if the fountain plugged in also?

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  4 года назад +1

      Yes, all the hue cabling is water resistant and can be used outdoors.
      The fountain is plugged into a hue enabled plug: ruclips.net/video/ixKtpBwuLkY/видео.html

    Hey man question for you since you have experience with the outdoor led strip and the pedestal lights: which one would you recommend to light up a putting green? It would be in the backyard in a dark spot that stretches 32 feet. The only other source that would be nearby is one regular bulb in the patio. I could do either, just trying to see what would make more sense. Also, are you still satisfied with your Hue products? Thanks in advance!

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  2 года назад +2

      Yes, absolutely love the Hue products- they continue to work flawlessly.
      I don't have a ton of experience with lighting something like a putting green but I think you'd get way more light out of the pedestals by arranging them around the green. Best of luck!

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  4 года назад

      They are actually giant styrofoam blocks covered in concrete. There is a 200 gallon reservoir under the rocks, along with a water pump and some PVC piping. We've had that fountain for a long time and it's probably time for a major overhaul 🤔

    Can each light be a different color and can you program them to do a color change sequence like when you have a lighting dimming board or do you have to manually change the colors? I’m trying to get a constant color-changing thing going to illuminate the woods I have outside of my back door. The trees are 50 feet tall.

    • @TheStockpile
      @TheStockpile  4 года назад

      Yes, each light can be a different color. Using the app (Hue Labs) you can create a color changing sequence. Totally doable!

    • @TheStockpile

      I have not tested it yet. The most I have needed on any transformer so far is four. If I was a betting man I'd say six would be fine.

      @@TheStockpile I am researching a lighting project right now. So double check this ......but I think it depends on the wattage capacity of the transformer.....in Europe it appears that there is a 40 watt and a 100 watt version....so with the 40 watt version 5 eight watt lights and with the 100 watt...20x 8 watt lights?
