Adam & the Ants are seriously one of the most underrated bands in pop history -- the energy of Adam's vocal delivery, those thundering drums and Marco's super-twangy guitar is just unstoppable. That said, to all the folks nostalgic for the '80s: trust me, I was I high schooler back then, and it wasn't so great worrying if we were all gonna die in a nuke war any minute...
When I was a teen we used to drive around in an early 70's Ford Pinto my buddy used to borrow from his family, good times listening to AA on an 8 track or cassette, don't remember what that car had. Thanks for posting, brings back good memories!
awesome! Adam ant the Ants stood out of the 80's for many reasons....first class musicianship....thematic music with direction...energetic fervour, Historic and Cultural overtones, I wish they had gone on longer....
I was an American 14 and living in GB in '80 through '81 when the Ants were all over the radio. I still can't believe all the styles they managed to merge into a coherent and totally new sound. I mean come on: pirate+native american+fop+spaghetti western guitar licks+burundi drums+punk/camp combo. Incredible...takes me back to a great and fascinating time in my life
I LOVE the lead's dancing!!! And the drumming is brilliant, the guitar is ridiculous and the vocals are awesome. looooooove it! Adam Ant is a new discovery and I love 'em! I love how, just because I wasn't there when it was popular, doesn't mean that the music won't translate as being great!
Will be rocking out up front at one of his gigs in May!! Feel like a 12 year old girl again!!! Adam Ant is one of THE Pioneers of the 80s!!!! SSOOOOOO glad to see his triumphant return!!! :-D
I was an American who went to Germany for Six months in 1981 and I remember arriving in Germany and riding in the car from the airport to my new home for six months and hearing Adam and the Ants on the car radio for the first time and wondering who this was! I was an instant Fan! Was some Fantastic Music
What do you expect. There is no other like Adam and the Ants. What I would not give to do it all over again. Great fun! Concerts kicked major ass and loved getting into full Ant gear every once in a blue. I am going to do Halloween as an Ant this year! LONG LIVE ANT MUSIC!!
There is SO much to see and hear in an Adam Ant video. The historical and ethnic references. And not to mention he can sing the s-it out of a song and is absolutely a gorgeous creature doing it. What his Wonderful video,he's much older and still GORGEOUS to watch and hear.
In every proper fashion-history book on pages about 80s there´s a huge picture of Adam Ant or at least his costume with text about him being revolutionary and along with Westwood and few blitz kids described as major influence that changed the face of fashion back then. So not only he ´s great musician, entertainer, actor and dancer, but f*ckin´ turning point for entire fashion world :)
I was hooked the first time I saw "Ant Music"...oh yeah. Had a great time at their concert in Boston (1984) with The Romantics opening the show. Front row was closed off, and I was 2nd row, direct center seat. Yeah, Adam!
I am only fifteen now and have just discovered Adam Ant. All my friends laugh but I think he is one of the most talented, fearless men ever. I love him.
Danny Kleinman is on bass here. Adam's buddy from Bazooka Joe who appeared in the Antmusic video and directed a few Ant clips. He filled in inbetween Kevin Mooney and Gary Tibbs.
I forgot how brilliant this band was. My sister was a member of the Adam and the ants fan club back in the 80's. They don't have fan clubs now do they, more like street teams that get the fans to do all the work promoting bands.
Back when this was new I wished I was old enough to go to his concerts. Sad what happened to him later, but in his prime Adam Ant was an incredible showman (and a hottie).
Ah.. Adam Ant.. very underappreciated today.. can't believe that we haven't heard any of his music sampled or revised today.. Black Eyed Peas I'm looking at you..
I discovered him going through my mums old singles and LPs about 10 years ago, he is amazing, talented and gorgeous. I'm going seeing him in concert in November because he is STILL a GOD xx
Ant people are the warriors coming from a bi-polar is something i respect him for all hes gone through and pitty people he never hear of Adam "Simon" his struggle is an inspiration!!! He will always be our dandy highwayman :)
i'm near 48 now and a proud member (not the only one i'm sure ) of what i like to call the FFOAP French Federation Of Antpeople ^^ And very happy to see is comming back ...
I had a mohawk when AA became popular, but a long "tail." I braided it with a long white scarf. I loved the Ant look. I miss being that young and doing fun stuff like that.
"Kings of the Wild Frontier" is still a classic album, I would urge anyone to grab a copy, full of swagger and fun and damn good tunes. The band look cartoonish now but in 1980-1982 they were the hottest band in the UK (maybe only The Police were bigger) and were taken very seriously. The press was full of "would you let your daughter go out with Adam Ant" outrage, hard to believe now.
Thanks so much for posting this! Adam Ant got me through high school. His music took me to amazing and interesting places, and really helped me deal with the hell that was high school. I adore him, always have, always will. I had an ant tattoo'd on my left earlobe 20-some ears ago in his honor, and I still have it. He truly was a genius, a visionary, and quite possibly the most facially beautiful man who has ever lived (IMHO, lol). So lovely to see him appreciated here! Ant Music Forever!! :)
@Zenbuck2 I was 11 and they were the first band I ever saw live ...amazing experience and made me go see so many bands after that and devote my life to music...now I live in the US and wish I could find one band that combined all those influences now. We grew up at a special time for music ...very very special!
Yeah, you can really tell! I love that movie! Adam Ant's sideburns also remind me of Willoughby from Emma Thompson's "Sense & Sensibility" for some reason. :)
LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH I do agree with you, they were great. The drums, the costumes, the video''s. The only thing you can and want to do: play it loud, move with the music, feel it, shout en enjoy.
He's gone back to his punk roots now, and his live shows are truly awesome.
Legend
ok miss coombs

What a beautiful man. He still makes my heart skip a beat.
Adam Ant was the first man I ever loved! Twenty-six years later and he still does it for me!
An under-rated entertainer. Thats right - not just a musician but an entertainer.
The Ants rock!!!
one of the best songs ever. this band will always be in my heart.
One of the best bands ever! No doubt!
The drums on this were excellent. My favourite band of the 80s.
When I was a teen we used to drive around in an early 70's Ford Pinto my buddy used to borrow from his family, good times listening to AA on an 8 track or cassette, don't remember what that car had. Thanks for posting, brings back good memories!

Brilliant set of songs; Kings..., Dog Eat Dog, Antmusic, the delightful Prince Charming & Plastic Surgery. Spotless.
I love Adam and at the risk of name-dropping can now count Kev Mooney as one of my best friends! Great video. Thanks for posting.
S
we were into this in the 80`s. i`m 41 tomoorow and still love this song!
still classic after all these years
I LOVE the lead's dancing!!! And the drumming is brilliant, the guitar is ridiculous and the vocals are awesome. looooooove it! Adam Ant is a new discovery and I love 'em! I love how, just because I wasn't there when it was popular, doesn't mean that the music won't translate as being great!
Nearly 30 years down the road, this music still sounds fresh. Amazing!
Bravo!!! Love Adam Ant, even today after 20+ years. He is so awesome, in his actions and lyrics. Thanks for posting this video!
I'm 42 and this ROCKS!! Wore this tape out 3 times!!
LOVE IT!!!! Those were fun years! You were not part of the 80's if you weren't part of the Ant Nation!
I saw them on the Prince Charming tour in the 80's and they were brilliant. 3 complete changes of costume and stage set.
Will be rocking out up front at one of his gigs in May!! Feel like a 12 year old girl again!!! Adam Ant is one of THE Pioneers of the 80s!!!! SSOOOOOO glad to see his triumphant return!!! :-D
briliant song...adam ants music will never get old :)

Amazing! take's me back to the summer 1980 and a carefree childhood.
There is SO much to see and hear in an Adam Ant video. The historical and ethnic references. And not to mention he can sing the s-it out of a song and is absolutely a gorgeous creature doing it. What his Wonderful video,he's much older and still GORGEOUS to watch and hear.
One of the best live bands ever bar none.

This song is very addictive, I spend my whole school day tapping the beat with my feet.
I just discovered him too, a month ago, and my friends now see me as the "friend with the weird music". Let them think that! XD
Danny Kleinman is on bass here. Adam's buddy from Bazooka Joe who appeared in the Antmusic video and directed a few Ant clips. He filled in inbetween Kevin Mooney and Gary Tibbs.

1980-81. Amazing stuff. Loved the double-drummers(pinched from the Glitter Band. Truth!!). FAB!!!!
This takes me back nearly 30 years, I'm ashamed to say. It's still superb!

One of the best songs from the 80s
My friend has the most fantastic Adam and the Ants poster ever in her room.
I had a mohawk when AA became popular, but a long "tail." I braided it with a long white scarf. I loved the Ant look. I miss being that young and doing fun stuff like that.

Same here! I'm back to being a crazed antperson in the past year. Such fun!!
Oh look at that strut, what a showman! :P
Its a shame i wasn't bought up in that era.
80's was probably the best music era.
Yeah, you can really tell! I love that movie! Adam Ant's sideburns also remind me of Willoughby from Emma Thompson's "Sense & Sensibility" for some reason. :)
This is the most unique music group of the 80s
The Antz: " a terminal case" for the english music press, back in the days
No one better than Adam!
He is still doing concerts, just been to the02 Arena in Bristol and he has not lost it!
