Violet Evergarden is my top 1 legendary anime of the realistic drama/romance genre (only Clannad is on par with it, both are legendary tear-jerkers), so I was so happy when Pekora mentioned it here (I feel like this anime is often forgotten by people or at least it is not their first pick)! I didn't know Pekora did the watchalong, I have to check the Pekora's watchalong out!
Sorry to be that guy, but I really recommend watching old Peko-Miko clips - there are loads of them where they arent just bantering/pranking and are genuinely being cute with each other. Completely different side of Pekora.
The only people I've ever heard say positive things about SAO are hololive members. Is it actually worth watching? Was it just part of a hate-bandwagon in the west?
i'm pretty sure most of the hate-bandwagon thing is the west thing from what i see since most of the time whenever that happen the JP fans was having not much of a problem
It's not nearly as bad as the hate it gets suggests it to be. It has bad writing in some parts but a lot of the hate comes from the unfulfilled potential the story had. Also, it was really really popular, which didn't sit well with the critics/elitists. Much like what happens whenever an anime overtakes Fullmetal Alchemist and gets dragged down by it's fans.
I thought why they are discussing mediocre zoomer anime at the start. And then realized they are zoomers lol For the sake of fairness Violet Evergarden is a good one, i agree.

Just give it ago for first two seasons cuz that's the hate coming from.
