    If the duty cycle of the arcing was 100%, then your calculations would make sense. Since a tesla coil's function is to resonate and build energy in the secondary circuit until primary circuit energy is depleted, the actual duty cycle is extremely low. Tesla coils build up energy over several cycles (depending on the coupling of primary and secondary coil) and then when the voltage surpasses breakdown voltage of the atmosphere, it's quickly discharged. That's why you see such thick arcs.

    oh, it's my safety gap in action, i'm turning on and off the motor because of this the frequency increase and decrease, when i put too low frequency, the safety gap works to protect the capacitor, bye :) and thanks! :DDD

  • @franzolielectronics

    simple, you are damn wrong xD its a resonant transformer, we cant know the output voltage in the streamer lenght, impossible, i have over 1kA pulsed in the primary coil actually, maybe more than 10A in really short periods of time in the output, in an ideal tesla coil, the topload store all secondary coil load every cycle it until its breakdown voltage, generating lightning

    Have you been able to harness it to use for actual electric power though? For example, can you power appliances with it?

    • @__lasevix_
      @__lasevix_ 2 года назад

      Hey, this is a bit late, but yes, arcing can power simple electric components like lamps. As for appliances, an adapter would be necessary as the required standard AC power is not exactly what you pick up from the coil.

    olá amigo, eu já venho acompanhando você pelo youtube há um bom tempo, agora criei coragem e fiz uma conta aqui, na esperança de você me ajudar com a bobina de tesla, pois tenho que fazer uma para feira de ciência. gostaria que você me enviasse o projeto por email (goes_renato@hotm...), pois não entendi como a bobina funciona direito !!!! ( esses dois trafos que você usa é de microondas né?, e como eu faço o capacitor com folhas de alumínio ou cobre?)
    obrigado pela atenção, aguardo resposta!!!!

    You have easily 1,000,000 volts in there. From the thickness of your spark I would say the ampere of the sparks are at least 0.01 A. Now lets calculate the power of the sparks: 1,000,000 x 0.01 = 10,000 W! Your power input was 2.4 KW and your output is 10KW! How could we explain this "impossibility"?
