i've had a Star sitting in my garage for the past 15 or so years. After watching your series of videos, I now understand fully how to understand it and those 560 lbs of linotype have a shorter life expectancy!! Many thanks for some of the most informative and detailed videos I have ever seen.

Louis, I am glad you found it useful. Yes, you can use your manual pressure assembly. The purpose of the pressure assembly (either manual or air compressor) is to push the lube out of the machine. Just keep the manual pressure assembly tight and it will work. The softer the lube, the easier it will be to remove. So I turn the heat up higher than normal on my heated base when purging lube. When everything is purged, I turn the heat back down to my operating temperature.
