well he's still young and his brain is not filled with memories yet. Once people get older, the amount of memories will increase and they can't recall as well compared to when they were younger.

When the interviewers know their shit, it makes such a huge difference to the quality of the interview. Remco does so many interviews with host who don't know what they are talking about, that it's probably refreshing for him to do an interview like this. Just got around to watching this interview in Oct 2023. I too thought Remco was arrogant from media reports but started to think they were wrong when i watched the Vuelta and found that Remco's comments/complaints were spot on and made sense to me. This interview confirms that Remco is a decent guy and that the media are misrepresenting him.
About 50 minutes in, have to finish it later but guys: this is the cycling content fans have only dreamed of hitherto. It’s a complete success. A home run. A field goal. Watching this after La Vuelta and Remco’s phenomenal performance. Just astounding! Congrats on a fantastic Vuelta, Remco! My wife calls him “Remmie”! She was screaming, “Go Remmie!!!” in the finale of the final stage.
I would hope this makes way for more cyclists to come on the pod when they are training in Andorra. There really isn’t a platform for these world class athletes to show off their personality and have candid chats like this. So fun to listen to.

Living in Belgium, I'm spoiled with great race interviews, but this was one of the greatest! Congrats Benji & Patrick! Thanks to Remco for being so authentic and open!
Just contemplating ... Media shoud be prohibited to shove a mike into one's face seconds after a race. These guys are either gasping for air and have their adrenaline still pumping. Remember the 'Balls' thing? On top of that, that was completly pulled out of context because the media had to make a 2 minute clip, leaving out all that was said after ... so you get the trolls going. I think this interview had him answering humble and relaxed, admitting to his mistakes and being quite frank about who he 'values' more. The guy is a winner, but still, indeed a 'Cool Cat'. I can tell you, he is very likeable. Edit: what I forgot to mention ... Hardly any of these guys are native English speakers.
What comes from that is mostly how sincere and trustful are these champions and "machines", compared to the past decades, when it was all about themsleves, intox and smalltalk (poor-talk). Great to hear and to witness.

Yes!!! There's nothing I like more than being put in my place and being demonstrated I was wrong. Like You said, Remco has that arrogant label but this interview has shown the real him. Talking as much as He wanted. Explaining himself and giving his own opinions. He is a great likeable guy in the short distances and that's what us, fans want to see from pro riders (apart of course from battle and racing). Thanks to this interview I have now converted myself to a Remco fan 😅. I hope I see him this winter around Calpe.

The Internet is a little bit like an" American Idol "style vehicle. You see someone early on like LR - before LRCP, before Benji, someone who was taking Cosmo material to the next level and you think to yourself " this guy could go places". Then you see every step along the way and you feel like you are part of the ride.
I'm super fan of LR since his early days, I'm not that fan of podcasts in general really. I'm not fan of Remco, but somehow I watched this one and I can say Remco is somewhat fun to be with.
First of all, great job landing a superstar like Remco for an interview. And secondly, I have greatly enjoyed a more humane approach to your interview, it really felt like you have a kindred cycling degenerate in there, not a world class star. Once again, great job!
Every one has been raving about this interview and I finally got a chance to watch and listen to it, and this is easily one of the best cycling pro interviews out there. Remco is clearly a very smart guy, well informed, and knows his stuff.
This La Vuelta '23 might be the best GT of the year. Most GC guys are here with the favorites Vingo-Roglic-Remco-G-Ayuso-Almeida-Vlasov and also young riders like Team DSM duo Onley-Poole, Uijdebroecks and many others. Just much excited!

The Internet is a little bit like an" American Idol "style vehicle. You see someone early on like LR - before LRCP, before Benji, someone who was taking Cosmo material to the next level and you think to yourself " this guy could go places". Then you see every step along the way and you feel like you are part of the ride.

I'm super fan of LR since his early days, I'm not that fan of podcasts in general really. I'm not fan of Remco, but somehow I watched this one and I can say Remco is somewhat fun to be with.
