Hi,in my firetv stick..usb drive is not showing in settings but it is showing in x-plore app..what to do?

neophyte here...i have a firestick on which i moved kodi to a usb drive.....it no longer shows in internal storage..it works but when i moved it it didn`t increase my internal storage...??..when i use kodi it works for about an hour and then i get a "low storage" prompt......is it still working off internal storage?.if i ejected the usb and factory reset my firestick could i attach my kodi usb again after reset?... i don`t understandwhy storage space internally didn`t increase when the kodi app was moved to usb..really appreciate any direction you could provide...

btw the internal storage left on my firestick is roughly 500 mbs..i have very little else in the way of apps on it(youtube and silk)....the kodi app was the space hog but i don`t get why the lack of space wasn`t mitigated somewhat by moving kodi to a usb...i`m sure my tech ignorance is showing so,apologies.
