Thr truth is i know my team Biscotti vane out and said publicly he can't believe the browns gave DeShawn that gaurenteed contract. We can't even get him to do a presser . But he spoke then Stop it . BISCOTTI and the boys went to indy and got with the billionaire boys and they all got together and made sure they didn't show interest in Lamar. Why did all those teams come out and say they don't have interest no one asked them.. period stop with the nonsense. Joy knows what's up trash teams that don't have a QB don't want a QB that lost 15 games in 5 years don't want to evem talk to Lamar yeah okay
Because you are talking nonsense.. Watson is a much better more rounded QB. He throws better, he is more durable and he runs good enough, he had almost 2 years off so of course he was rusty in the what 6? games he got to play. He will be in pre hold out for this year. Jackson has his legs. That is why he got an MVP not his arm not his ability to read a defense and change a play or tight window throws. Watson is as much better than Jackson as Mahomes is better than prescott.
For months I've been listening to Joy say Lamar has the right to ask for DeShaun Watson's contract, and that's absolutely true. What she fails to realize is that the Ravens have the right to say "No." You can't sit there and say the Watson contract was bad business and then say the Ravens should do the exact same thing without looking kind of... silly. I like Joy's opinions most of the time, but she doesn't seem to hear herself when she talks about Lamar.

But the rules are geared towards the offense in all sports.
@@GodSonBlessed he expressed he would rather have rings than money many times. Granted, he is not doing his fellow QBs any favors by doing this. But he wants to win badly.
Yes mahomes could have got way more but his deal isn’t so team friendly, the only reason it is for less money than most is because he got part ownership in the Kansas City royals!!! Which come in now pats him pretty good if I had to say, so when you get that it’s easy to take a deal that allows your team to have more room for other players cause I can almost guarantee you if he did t get that ownership stake in his deal his deal wouldn’t be so team friendly
And not all these teams have that ability to give players that or are willing to! And 3, 4, 5 years from now this will be the going rate! Just wait till allen or burrow etc come up for deals and see what they do or get, I understand the hesitation because of the way he plays and with injuires more prevelant, but still he’s an mvp that led the league in passing tds, so it’s not like he can’t throw it, the owners just don’t want these guaranteed contracts coming into the league and becoming like the nba, in the nba the players control the league in the nfl the owners control that league and their not ready to give that up, so bet their talking to each other to stop or slow down these types of contracts
I love Acho’s analogy about teams wanting Lamar but not wanting to do what it takes to get him and comparing that people wanting to lose weight. I used to weigh 330 lbs and now I weigh 210. It took me cleaning up my diet, working out and most importantly wanting to change. I still want to improve and i’m still putting in the work
I drink about 8-10 cokes a day, but for the last few months I've been drinking water in the morning at work until lunch time. That's it. I've gone down from 246 to 231 pounds in that time.
Yeah it's going to take a team to heavily overpay Lamar to make it where the Ravens don't just match the offer, because even Baltimore has to know it'd be sickening to let him walk & only get 2 draft picks for him. But they also know Patrick is the only outlier on the % of cap deal to win a SB and that's because they had great young talent defensively this year.
Shady acting like Mahomes ain’t a once in a generation type quarterback. He’s the anomaly. You can’t just replicate what Mahomes did while taking majority of the cap.
Well they not doing anything else with the cap to help the offense they’re dead last in offensive spending even with lamar still being on his rookie deal up till now

Shady doesn’t realize Mahomes went to 2 of those superbowls while still on his rookie contract. This year was the first year on his new deal. Which was also y this year was the year they gutted their roster and played more rookies than almost any other team. They hit on their draft picks and made good FA/Trade decisions or this could have been a completely different discussion.
i recall the browns falcons & dolphins all saying they were not interested in deshaun Watson initially... Then we all know they all made inquiries about getting him
There’s a big difference in this situation though. Deshaun was done with Houston and was forcing a trade so going back to the Texans wasn’t an option. Lamar is cool staying in Baltimore he just wants the right money. Baltimore is just banking on every organization not wanting to lose respect by giving in and paying this contract. This way they can fix the QB market. I’m with Joy though. One of these desperate organizations that hasn’t won anything in forever is going to be willing to pay Lamar what he wants.

McCoy is cool but he is usually way off on his opinions because he will always support certain players getting paid even if it makes no sense for the team. He said none of the bad teams "want" Jackson. The topic was they won't pursue Jackson. Because they don't want to help Baltimore determine the price and just match it. It's a waste of time to negotiate with him just to get matched. He also said Mahomes went to 3 superbowls making big money. Was he making that big money the first 2 times when they had Hill? Keep it honest my man.
can ya'll shut up about injuries already. everybody gets injured. Burrow and Dak have literally been injured entire seasons, no one is counting that against them. Lamar looks like a guy from the hood and that's what is causing all this animosity against him
Rodgers got 60 mill 1 season . Kyler never won MVP & broncos extend russ which added another 80 . Those numbers make sense. & Lamar is a proven winner he is second in qb win percentage.
Media lying. LJ not asking for $250M. But this is all about not guaranteeing NFL contracts. NFLPA needs to sue. Just to get this issue in front of courts/public.
Did you even watch the clip? If everyone knows Lamar wants a fully guaranteed contract and no team wants to provide that because they’re not as desperate and self-sabotaging as the Browns, then why do you assume anyone is going to make an offer? Any offer they make will either be similar to what the Ravens already made, and then matched by the Ravens, or it will be rejected by Lamar because it’s not fully guaranteed.
How does Shady not get it 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️also this year was the first Mahomes counted for that percentage the first super bowl he was still on his rookie contract.

The only thing I can imagine is that Lamar isn't much of a passer. Watson showed he could be a great passer who could ALSO run. Lamar CAN throw the ball, but that's not his thing. The same way it wasn't Vick's or Cam's, and we see as they get older and start getting hurt they drop off a cliff. Lamar already has been hurt multiple times so there is a risk in giving him top dollar.

People like Joy, Shady and some other media members way overhype Lamar. He might be a "franchise QB", but he's both limited with his skillset and he's also been injury prone. Not playing that game against Cincinnati cost him big time. That's the last 2 seasons where he couldn't play in the playoffs. Then to top it off he wants a contract that owners aren't going to allow to be the norm. Just because the Browns gave Watson a terrible contract does not mean that it's now what the market is. Also, Lamar has been costing himself money ever since the combine. Last season was his first year making above 2 to 4 million in a season because he was a late rd 1 pick. He decided to not run the 40. If he had an agent, the agent would have explained thoroughly that by running the 40 he could make 20-30 million dollars. A great 40 time could have had him drafted 10-15 spots higher. Also, if he had an agent, he would have already gotten a contract like Mahomes and Josh Allen after 3 seasons. He's cost himself so much money by having his mom as his agent. It's just ridiculous
If he is limited as a Quarterback then why was he voted as a unanimous MVP?? You do not win the MVP by having a limited skillset!! Lamar is the 2nd coming of Michael Vick so IDK what you are talking about. Running a 40 does not mean he cost himself 10-15 spots higher when teams wanted him to change position to WR. Lamar deserves to get paid and he did not play the game against Cincy because he did not have a long term contract so he is not willing to put his body on the line for a team that clearly does not believe in him. Jackson should be pursued by many teams that do not have a quarterback!! Baltimore made the same mistake years ago with Flacco and the same mistake the Cowboys did with Prescott by not paying them early so said player can give a hometown discount. Plus the market got set by Mahomes, Allen and Watson so he should get paid what Watson got paid when Lamar has accomplished more than Watson has in his career
@@inuyashafreak6393 the MVP was 4 years ago , he's been declining since , look at the numbers , also you saying Mike Vick Mike he was an all time great , he was exciting had a decent career but slow down.
@KC1324 because, like Cam, he had an incredible year both throwing and running. Notice he hasn't come close to doing through the air what he did in his sophomore year again? On top of that he's been hurt the last two seasons, unable to play when it matters most. Those are all factors that make him limited and they also factor those things in when it's time to make a longterm contract. No one wants to give all guaranteed money to a qb that's shown to be limited and injury prone because of those limitations.

The late great George Carlin said, "You don't need a formal conspiracy when interests converge..." If true collusion were actually taking place, just the opposite would occur. Rather than teams showing no interest in Jackson teams would be (and they still might do this) offering contracts that Lamar will refuse so he will be more ready to negotiate with the Ravens.
Clarification: _”The owners don’t want to make this the norm of paying BLACK quarterbacks $200+ guaranteed.”_ Such “groundbreaking” deals were meant for Herbert, for Allen, for Burrow. NOT Watson.
I got you! The Ravens will not allow Jackson to go to another team. Once a reasonable amount of money is negotiated for Jackson by another team, The Ravens's will match it. Another team does the work and Baltimore reaps the benefits. I can see why no team will negotiate for Jackson.
It’s funny that the owners weren’t upset about the Vikings giving the actual first fully guaranteed contract..nobody even thought it was possible till Kirk got it
So do they know something we don't? IS he accurate throwing the ball?is he a leader? Is he good in the locker room? Is he intelligent enough to read a defense pre snap? Does he miss alot of games because of injuries and does he get hurt alot?
Thank goodness Joy is on this panel she never played professional football but she has the most sense and knowledge of the game from a business perspective.
She says the Browns contract to Watson was a bad contract and in the same breath says Lamar has the right to ask for that, which he'll never get. She's not a realist at all.
Tbh acho take sounds alot more realistic when i started to think about it only because I don’t think the ravens will even let him go for just 2 1st rounders but i think all the real work will happen after the draft not before so the stuff coming out right now doesn’t even matter tbh
You’re right. People are sounding really dumb about this right now. People think “exclusive means they want to keep him and non exclusive means they don’t.” That’s literally the opposite of the situation. The ravens can get 10 picks and some players for Lamar if they wanna trade him. If they wanted to trade him, they’d give him the exclusive tag and look for a partner to get a HAUL. they’re not letting him go for two firsts. They’re telling Lamar go get the money you want from someone else and we’ll pay you that. Right now, Lamar thinks, “the ravens are lowballing me. I’m not gonna accept an offer from them.” The non exclusive tag is THE ONLY way to fix the relationship. That way Lamar can see what he’s really worth and see that the ravens weren’t lowballing him. It’s been reported that they’ll match almost any contract as long as it’s not fully guaranteed. Long story short - Lamar will remain a raven.

He also has only 1 year above 3000 yards passing Only 1 year above 65% completion percentage Passing is part of the job of qb The reason the Ravens offense hasn’t evolved passing is it’s not to the strengths of Lamar. What would happen to Lamar outside a running offense where he faces 8 man box with single high safety and press coverage. Will he be able to read the complex zone coverages that mahomes burrow and the rest of the qbs face? All that running ability and only 1 playoff win! So would the Ravens really be given up a Super Bowl contender if the get a new qb? Yes, Lamar is a dynamic player, but he hasn’t shown the winning outside the regular season. Edit: if you want to say the passing is because he didn’t have any WR. Well Mahomes just had 5k passing with only kelce being above 1000. And a 7th rookie rb that didn’t really get used until week 10 that finished with 830 yards rushing at a 4.9 average. The Chiefs very nearly had a 1000 yard receiving wr, near 1000 yard rusher to go along with Kelce and the wr were castoffs not first round picks that Lamar had in his career like like Hollywood brown and Bateman. Nobody is colluding. You have a quarterback who has a problem staying healthy, demanding over $200 million In guarantees, who isn’t a great passer, seems more interested in himself than the team and who will cost 2 first round draft picks… he’s not worth the price tag. The owners realize how bad the Watson contract is and are not going to give another contract like that. Watson too is not worth the contract he signed. We will see though… Ravens probably keep Lamar on the tag
I think the problem is people hate Watson so much and are looking at last years season, after him not playing in over a year, and acting like he’s garbage.
But Burrow, Mahomes and even Jalen Hurts played for teams that realised that they need to maximise the rookie contracts of players, by surrounding them with offensive talent (coaching included). So you can't blame the Ravens inability to get to the Superbowl on Lamar, asking him to essentially be team-friendly, if you havent done what you needed to do when he was in a SUPER team friendly deal. It's odd
So drafting a 3rd 1k TE in Andrews the same draft as Lamar. 1st round 1k WR Hollywood Brown, who wanted to go play with Kyler more then sticking with Lamar. Drafting Bateman in round 1. You could say the same about the Bengals, so far (in Burrow's rookie contract). Don't forget that Lamar once lead the league it TDs thrown and looked amazing pre injury. Also, those gents were on much better terms financially, so the Ravens can't act like they're breaking the bank, when, per year, they been paying much less than what those teams did for Burrow and Mahomes. The chiefs rebuilt the OL after their line was decimated with injures going into the Super Bowl against Tampa. Again Mahomes got his skill players together and held passing camps together to set his expectations to an entire new core of players outside of Harman and Kelce. If Jackson wants to be a passer why has he never held camps with his guys to get the chemistry with his core. Again Mahomes accomplished this in one offseason. Burrow has already said he will give up money to keep his core around. While Hollywood new he couldn’t make bank if Jackson wants top dollar. Based on all of their opinions on this matter. Patrick .M is the best QB, so should his contract dictate the market? Your here on a scale of QB so you get paid in this area. You better than Patrick, you get a better deal.
How many teams can actually afford the current 45+M, and possibly 2 consecutive 1st round picks? And the fully guaranteed contract requires the full boat has to be in escrow for the duration. That is a lot of money tied up and not making money for the owner.
BAL should Just release him if they don’t believe in/don’t want to pay him. They look real bad rn. And NFLPA should take legal action (the goal is to get rid of Nonexclusive they should have never agreed to…and the 2nd and 3rd yr tag).
@@newagain9964 why? Bal can get at least 2 first round draft picks, maybe a lot more. There is no 3rd year tag. no other team will offer more for lamar than the Raven already did, he's not worth half what he's been offered.
I don't understand why people can't comprehend why teams wouldn't want Lamar at this point. 1. He is reportedly wanting a fully guaranteed contract which hand ties any organization for years to come. People keep making the excuse about him needing a number one top of the line receiver, good luck getting that if a team doesn't already have it while paying him a massive contract. 2. Lamar had missed 10 of the last 22 games. Best ability is availability. 3. The amount of pressure all off season and during season on the head coach, gm, etc, to win will be ridiculous cause think about it, if whatever team he goes to doesn't work out who do you think people will blame? spoiler alert: it isn't going to be Lamar. 4. Lamar has had 1 playoff win in his entire time in Baltimore.
This is not a hard concept to understand. You’re asking the Ravens to give a QB 230+ fully guaranteed when: - he has missed an entire season worth of games the past two years. - his play style is not conducive for longevity - NFL Owners don’t like fully guaranteed contracts. - no one else will pay him that, so why would the ravens? - Lamar doesn’t even have an agent. It doesn’t even make pay him that. Anyone who’s writing the check would at least hesistate to acquiesce to those demands.
Teams aren't going to say publicly they are interested because that just creates a bidding war and drives up the price. It also would be bad for a team to say they are interested and then not end up with Lamar.
Been saying for years, theres an easy solution to all this for the league. Reduce the overall salary cap and make QB1 a non-capped player like the MLS did with the designated player. That way teams can have a great QB and still be able to put good players around them
I'm a Falcons fan, I like Lamar, but i don't want him on the Falcons due to his injury history. Watson is a great passer. Lamar and Cam Newton are below average passers, Cam started to decline at age 27, and Lamar is 26yr old now. It doesn't make sense for the Falcons to pay Lamar max when he will be on the decline in the next 5yrs
I think the best Lamar can get is a 2 year gutanteed contract and that is stretching it. Kind of what the deal that Daniel jones and geno smith got. They essentially got 2 year deals. Obviously he should be pay between 45-55 a year

Weather we like it or not this dude is worth a contract DEFINITELY! But ain't nobody out side of Mahomes, Allen, soon to be Burrow and possibly Hurts is worth or gonna be worth there contracts. Everyone else probably regrets giving there QB's the bag. Also for the teams that don't have QB's the draft is in riched with possible Lamar's or better. I think teams including the Ravens would rather take new chances with out having to give any one the bag then to have things not pan out and being stuck with a contract. Yes mahomes could have got way more but his deal isn’t so team friendly, the only reason it is for less money than most is because he got part ownership in the Kansas City royals!!! @@shinekarter8426 exactly it's comparable. So why would the Ravens or any other team make the same mistake?

The reason the Ravens offense hasn’t evolved passing is it’s not to the strengths of Lamar.

The Chiefs very nearly had a 1000 yard receiving wr, near 1000 yard rusher to go along with Kelce and the wr were castoffs not first round picks that Lamar had in his career like like Hollywood brown and Bateman. 80 million is not the same as 200 million lmao
Besides guaranteed contracts what else do Kirk Cousins and Deshaun Watson have in common? An agent. Both those men have an agent to represent them. Lamar Jackson has his mom. Their agents also represent other football players and athletes. Lamar Jackson's mom only represents him. Agents have contacts in other teams, relationships with other teams. His mom has none of this. Not having a professional representative at this level of negotiation is not helpful to Lamar.
The guy in blue makes the most sense.
I bet if Lamar had an agent, he would have offers sent his way.
Nope last QB raven paid was who? Joe flacco that's it 30+ years
They offered Jackson less the Daniel jones they are 100 million apart

Do you think they’re winning a super bowl anytime soon?
Nobody is colluding. You have a quarterback who has a problem staying healthy, demanding over $200 million In guarantees, who isn’t a great passer, seems more interested in himself than the team and who will cost 2 first round draft picks… he’s not worth the price tag. The owners realize how bad the Watson contract is and are not going to give another contract like that. Watson too is not worth the contract he signed. We will see though… Ravens probably keep Lamar on the tag
WHY THESE PEOPLE NEVER SPEAK ABOUT COUSIN'S. IS HIS CONTRACT WORKING OUT???

Its tempering !! UNTIL WEDNESDAY WHEN TEAMS
Why would a team pay Lamar $250 million dollars guaranteed??

I swear!! I’m takin Watson over Lamar everyday of the week and twice on Sunday
@@jaycraig5431 Iswear
Their both great quarterbacks
Dobbins in round 2. Picking up a versatile rb in Drake. Picking a center this past draft in the 1st round. They’ve been getting talent just like hurts had for Lamar
@@davidscott2059 Fine, we'll go with what you're saying. Who's better between Andrews and Kelce? Have the WR been better than Chase, Higgins, Boyd? Hill, Juju? Drip and drab talent is one thing, if you compare the teams, the Ravens aren't close UNLESS Lamar balls out. Now that he needs to get paid, they start with the cap discussions. All I'm saying is that the other teams knew what they had and the timelines they had to follow because of the rookie contract thing and also, in Mahomes' case, reupped early. It's not all Lamar
@@CreamSodaPapi mahomes only had Kelce as 1k receiver, but still threw for 5k with castoff like JuJu, MVS, Justin Watson. Difference is Mahomes held passing camps with his guys. Built up chemistry, let them know how he wanted routes run against certain coverages. I don’t remember Lamar doing that with all the talent that was selected for him to build the offense around him. Burrow is a passing qb that worked with the highly drafted talent around him. Lamar is about the Benjamin’s, while Burrow and Mahomes have both stated they would rather super bowls the setting the qb market. I have a feeling that hurts will too. Those guys pump up the guys around for the reason for success and take the blame when things go wrong. I don’t remember Lamar doing that much
@@davidscott2059 That's harsh, all his teammates speak glowingly of him. “It was just . . . my happiness,” Brown said. “I talked to Lamar about it after my second year. And then after my third year, leading up to the end of the season, you know, he wasn’t playing. I let him know again, like, ‘Yeah, bro, I can’t do it.’ You know, it’s not really on Lamar, like I love Lamar. It was just, you know, it’s just the system just wasn’t for me personally. You know, I love all my teammates. I love the guys. It was just something I had to think about for myself.” from Hollywood
You cannot deny that the Chiefs have done everything they could to support Mahomes, Andy Reid is a big piece and it's a different quality there. All I'm saying, is that the Ravens have been on and off in their offensive team building, leaving Lamar to do a lot but when we start bringing in the other QB names, you have to take the whole situation into account
@@CreamSodaPapi Hollywood preferred Murray throwing him the ball to get him paid as the end of his rookie contract ends. He might love Lamar the person, but to get himself paid he wanted Murray’s arm. The Chiefs haven’t brought in any high end skill players for mahomes. They traded away Tyreek and mainly draft defense this past year. They pick Skyy in the second and rarely used him. The 7th round rb didn’t get consistent playing time till week 10.
Edit: Chiefs trust Mahomes enough to let him run the off-season program for the skills players. Would Jackson be able to handle that.
I still don't understand why they keep saying Lamar can win a Superbowl when he's 1-3 in the playoffs.
Because their on script. Every media member must say Lamar is the greatest thing since slice bread
@@soda8736 but that's so untrue. Why don't they talk what Lamar has been doing during the playoffs? Dude's clearly the weak link.
Based on all of their opinions on this matter. Patrick .M is the best QB, so should his contract dictate the market? Your here on a scale of QB so you get paid in this area. You better than Patrick, you get a better deal.
The Ravens are gone pay that man. He ain't goin nowhere. He gone get his paper.
How many teams can actually afford the current 45+M, and possibly 2 consecutive 1st round picks? And the fully guaranteed contract requires the full boat has to be in escrow for the duration. That is a lot of money tied up and not making money for the owner.
What else do they talk about

16 minutes and stopped at 30 seconds . Watson not half the player Lamar Jackson is ? What a ludicrous statement
Where is Dave ??
It's not a case of another team doing the ravens homework, it's the Ravens trying to get Lamar to understand what he's worth.
They have the leverage.

You’re asking the Ravens to give a QB 230+ fully guaranteed when:
- he has missed an entire season worth of games the past two years.
- his play style is not conducive for longevity
- NFL Owners don’t like fully guaranteed contracts.
- no one else will pay him that, so why would the ravens?
- Lamar doesn’t even have an agent.
It doesn’t even make pay him that. Anyone who’s writing the check would at least hesistate to acquiesce to those demands.
These player contracts ain't nothing compared to what these owners are making so let's talk about that!
Facts!! They make Lamar’s contract every year, just from the nfl.
Teams aren't going to say publicly they are interested because that just creates a bidding war and drives up the price. It also would be bad for a team to say they are interested and then not end up with Lamar.
LOL!!! Emmaunuel Acho " Can you do my homework?" LOL!!!!
Whoever cut Le Sean hair need their barber license revoked.
Obviously he should be pay between 45-55 a year
Shady does not get it Mahomeboy is the exception not norm
That's stupid you trying to say that teams are to lazy to persue a once in a generation QB 🙄
That doesn't make any sense

Weather we like it or not this dude is worth a contract DEFINITELY! But ain't nobody out side of Mahomes, Allen, soon to be Burrow and possibly Hurts is worth or gonna be worth there contracts. Everyone else probably regrets giving there QB's the bag. Also for the teams that don't have QB's the draft is in riched with possible Lamar's or better. I think teams including the Ravens would rather take new chances with out having to give any one the bag then to have things not pan out and being stuck with a contract. Just my opinion 🤷♂️😁 but to think there colluding is kind of reaching. Racism would definitely be a reach.....not saying that was said but I've heard other platforms elude to it! 🤷♂️
