After watching the full game instead of just the breakdowns and stuff, I got attached to Prosecutor's Gambit much more than before since I know the full context. The characters, the story, the second and final conclusion to the AA story before the reboot of Dual Destinies (the first one being Phoenix with Trials and Tribulations), EVERYTHING about this game is incredible, especially the post credits scene. It truly is the BEST Ace Attorney game ever and it'll say like that for years to come.
For me, it's second *just* behind TGAA 2: Resolve. The quality of writing there is too good. But the mastermind of Investigations 2 for me is by far the best AA culprit and I don't think that he'll ever be beaten in that regard. Also Investigations 2 pulled off the first *really* good 'overall story' of any AA game (where every case is directly relevant to said story), so it'll always be significant for that at least
As much as I love this case, it will never not upset me that Eustace just completely disappears after the trial. It already kinda felt like Lang undermined his big moment and him just not appearing again like the rest of the main characters just rubs it in more.
he's only responsible for the trial with Laguarde and his dad and was dealing with the aftermath of the trial while Edgeworth's group is investigating Dijun Wang's death. ans Dijun Wang's death doesn't have much emotional attachment to Eustace as it does with Lang so it doesn't make much sense for him to still hang around. He did help with taking down Simeon later on if I'm not mistaken though
I miss him too but I get why, there's already enough characters hanging out after the trial that need attention and eustace wouldn't of had much left to do (though I would've loved some more resolution with verity since they don't get to talk really after case 4, though her being proud of him coming into his own is really touching and you can feel it through very little dialog) Also, yeah, it is a great resolution for him to take down his father as his last big hurrah, and it helps us after the fact. I miss him, but it works and makes sense. Really I just hope we see his character again in a future game as edgeworth's own pupil, would be nice.
I still find it a missed opportunity, even at the original game, to not give us a Six-piece Logic Chess against Simeon Saint before the argument against him starts
I still think the one with Sebastian was a very clever subversion and creative finish to the mechanic. It showed that Edgeworth could build someone up, not just tear them down.
@@phuongbach3864yeah but this is the final case for the entirety of this spinoff, where both the buildup and payoff needs to be grander than it is in order to wrap everything up.
I think it’s implied that the characters themselves are meant to be the King, so six would’ve been impossible. I mean, in the original trailer, Edgeworth’s emblem was not of a Prosecutor’s badge, but the King chess piece, and none of the Mind Chess pieces resemble the King. Lastly, in order to win, the player doesn’t actually take the King like Edgeworth’s pieces shatter that of his opponents; rather the King must be placed in a position where no moves can be made. Which is exactly what happens every time he breaks down their defenses. And that…is checkmate. ♟️
This game did incredible showing how disgustingly corrupt and broken the judicial system was when a ruthless assassin who’s murdered who knows how many people seemed better by comparison.
Considering how much of a butthole the body double is, I like to think that if the real President was alive, he would have treated Edgeworth with the respect he deserves for solving the Yatagarasu case, and would have been a good sport about losing Mind Chess to Edgeworth. And obviously he wouldn’t need to fake an assassination because he was so popular in Zheng Fa, so he must have been doing a lot of things right. Also I like to think that since he was close with the head of the Lang clan, the President going over to their place for tea was a regular occurrence. Funny headcanon about the real President is that he really likes awarding medals to recognize the people who help protect and serve Zheng Fa, since he awarded so many to Da-Long-Lang, some of which were specific to only him. Probably would have given Edgeworth a medal too and made up an honorary title just for him. And also medals for Shi-Long-Lang and each one of his 99 men, it would have been a long ceremony 😂😂.
I like to think that Simeon is placed with Kanis in jail because Kanis is the only person who can keep his behaviour in check. Simeon may never get over the issues he has developed due to the trauma he’s faced, but he at least has one stable figure in his life, even though he is unconventional.

Being able to play this case for the first time, All I can say that it really was a turnabout for the ages. My one complaint, They put so much content of the story all in one case. But that is my nitpick. The mind chess segments with Gavelle and Eustace were great, Gavelle showing her vulnerable motherly side and Eustace actually getting encouraged by Edgeworth to the point that Eustace is able to fully convict his dad and Lagaurde of their crimes when taking his rightful place as the prosecutor. Kay and Gumshoe showing why they are some of the best allies to Edgeworth really shines. Finally Edgeworth, finally being able to reclaim his prosecutor badge. He definitely deserves the title of Chief Prosecutor as we see in Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. Gavelle probably gave that position to Edgeworth who knows. In terms of final cases at least for me top 5 quality but number 5 as I think 4 cases top this one a little better.
For me this is the second best case in the series. May I ask which four cases you think top it? I'm curious to see if my personal favourite is there and I want to see which other three are there too

Ok as i was watching his motive on why he did. For the sake of arguments for having the tiniest sympathy for the mastermind here, what would he have done in order to escape or fight back against the 3 people responsible in ruining his life? Can anyone comment here because i want to know?
he's kind of a helpless boy against three superpowers when the whole ordeal begam so I don't think he could have done much other than running away, changing his name and plotting revenge that made other people do his dirty work (most of the time)
I think the point is he was literally powerless. The orphanage director was connected to a powerful prosecutor, the body double was now President, and the one cop he told the truth to took the truth to the grave for the sake of not throwing a whole country into chaos. What could he have done? Unfortunately geopolitical matters outweighs the safety of a child. That does not excuse what he did, of course. But it helps us understand why he chose this course of action. I think the only person he would listen to now is Kanis, who is, in a twisted way, a better father figure than his actual dad (who is a REAL piece of work) so at least he will be kept under some semblance of control now that he’s in jail.
Same. Tabby Lloyd and maybe Ian Sideman are the only names I think are superior to the fan translation, but that's the price to pay for an official translation and getting this game out to another generation
@@anime_legacy123 That doesn't excuse her NOT getting her name! Will Powers made his appearance in the first game as well and got his name! In fact, EVERYONE got his name in this game except her.

Mostly because in the Ace Attorney game she appeared in, an assistant was all she was referred to, with her name absolutely never being mentioned outside of her profile. Weirdly enough, this is actually faithful to the original Japanese script, but not the previous games in the series.
It’s really not. Some of the names and voice clips are a bit better in the fan translation, but the script is absolutely no contest. Cases 4 and 5 have certain details that are explained a lot better.
For me there are strengths and weaknesses for both. Also now that the auctioneer in I2-4 is referred to as the ringleader and not the conductor, Sebastian / Eustace’s conducting doesn’t make as much sense). But there are some parts that are more detailed here, a big example being Simeon’s second testimony here and it’s related / surrounding dialogue. But equally, some scenes are worse, for example I feel the fan translation got the president’s final sentences to Dogen / Kanis better (calmer, they sound more panicky in the official translation). The official translation has better graphics, nice remixes and also has allowed another generation to play this game.
