Hi, can you do me a little project?, i can pay
I've learned something new and useful today. Thank you as always!!
Your explanation was easy for me to understand. Thank you for putting out videos like this. Now I want to get some strain gages and try to use them in projects.
Your projects are good for school and college projects.
Thanks for this video and web page. I'm currently working on a mostly 3D printed bench-top dynamometer with a Nextion Enhanced touchscreen and a Arduino Pro micro. Features include volt meter, amp meter, tachometer, 10A relay, 10Kg load sensor, a geared stepper (to control the break from the touchscreen) and a buzzer. I was trying to work out how I would incorporate a calibration sequence into all this. This was the most helpful video i found. Many THANKS!
Excellent presentation. Brings back memories of classes in Instrumentation Electronics.
This is truly one of the best youtube channels ever . This guy even inspired me to make my own tech channel . Hope you reach 1M subs ❤❤❤
This video really helped our Formula Student team with a cheap solution for a torsional stiffness test of our chassis.
for my second & final project, you're still my reference. thanks..
Fantastic project, dude! Really nice! 😃
I've made a few bicycle power meters using strain gauges.
I use a simple amplifier and the Arduino’s own ADC, very basic but actually gives decent power data when set up correctly.
I long wondered how those load cells work , well now I understand the principal , thanks for feeding my brain !
He actually got the deformation part wrong. ruclips.net/video/sxzoAGf1kOo/видео.html Heres a link for a better explanation.
Great Video. This is very useful for my project. Thank you for sharing all the info.
Thanks for the detailed explanation!
Thank you for sharing this with us.😊.
Thank you sir for this detailed video....wonderful explanation
Thank You - I have the idea for a project weighing seems to be the easiest way to measure. Your explanation was excellent - Thank you
I am just learning about Arduino and it is simple enough plus flexible enough to handle my project. It is to easily measure volume (via weight) and control the temperature of water for a mash-lauter tun.
When you need twisted pairs, you could use LAN cables disassembled. Each cable contains 4 very well twisted pairs. If you need longer cables, you can use RJ-45 connectors !
Nice project.Thanks for sharing.
Great work 👏
Thanks for sharing. Very informative
Very helpful video. I like it
Thank you for this awesome video! How does commercial scale works without initial calibration? How do we make the scale more accurate say I want to measure how much gas left in a tank, which the accuracy of even 1gram is important
Great information about strain gauge.
ok so this is a strain gauge.. nice informative stuff
Cool project!!
Nice animations man, it makes the explanations very easy to follow.
A good video. Go one step further and activate a relay, when the scale reaches a target weight; make that target weight adjustable via two buttons (+ve / -ve)
Electronoob thank you very much great video merry Christmas thank you very much, i am using flexible caulk to seal a crack in the area that was damaged but it did not reveal or show the sensor, i learned a lot ,
Very nice explanation... Keep it up👍
Good job. I think you should choose a thicker wooden base. This one is thin and thus some of the strain or deformation is occurring in the base. This can lead to a lower reading on the device.
Nice one was thinking about a long time to try making a weighing scale
Informative, thank you)
Best explanation!
Great tutorial.
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing links to assist in replicating your projects.
i love your videos top stuff fella.. :)
Thank you so much ❤️
Great video.. keep going !! :P
Very informative
thank you!
The presentation is superb! I have question, which glue is used to attach the stain gauge to surface?
Hi, this video is really helpful for making a load cell. I am interested in measuring the deformation of a metal sheet using a similar setup. Can you please guide me a little bit?
Subbed good presentation of topic
wow.... perfect
For the load-cell setup with a panel attached to it: is there a difference in the measured force depending on where on the panel the force is applied? The force I am measuring is very localized (small contact area), not vertical (not a scale), and is very weak (tens of mg), so I will need to compensate for such a difference if it exists.
Thank you the fantastic instructions. Do I understand correctly that you used HX711 instead of Wheatstone bridge?
Can I use Arduino Nano for the same project?
its more help full vibeos to us.thank a lot♥️ can you make another vibeo vehical speedometer using gps module
wowwwww liked that
Hello! I am very new to electronics, and I was wondering if we would still need a separate ADC unit if the microcontroller itself already has one? I keep reading that standard arduinos tend to have them built in... would you connect it straight into it?
Nice video Sir
Thank you, can you do a video on how to measure torque
For most average users with arduino background this is a great tutorial. Your gage handling practices in this video and adhesive info need improvement. The HX711 also has many issues with it's reading due to it's overly simplistic and antique architecture. A MUCH MUCH better BoB uses the ADS1120 or ADS1220. These are by FAR many orders of magnitude better be it more complicated. Selecting STC code, bridge arrangements, creep code, dealing with thermal issues (passive, manual, active) material installation, compensation for temperature range, gage protection, and more as well as proper gage installation techniques (glue dependent).
any more info on non-HX711 solutions ?
Do you have any suggestions on how to incorporate a thermistor into the scale sketch to compensate for thermal creep?
Muy bueno, saludos a vuestro canal!
for the 4 load cell setup with 1 load cell in each corner, how accurate is it when it come to weighing multiple items. like for example, what if there are like 5-10 items on the scale and the items are spread out all over, like some items are in different corners and some in the middle. Will this mess up with the total weight reading or will the scale be able to measure total weight accurately even with items spread out all over the scale?
Nice job ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great. What do you use for creating these nice animations?
Hello, great video, but I have a question: is the wheatstone bridge on the pcb or is it attached to the strain gauge? Thank you
Hi dear great video,
I have a question for you, do all load cells connect to the same HX711 sensor or does each weight have a different sensor according to its weight?
This is used to calculate a bending force as the material elongates and deforms, Would I be correct in saying the this could be used to measure a tensile force if it was applied parallel to the gauge instead of perpendicularly like in the video
hello sir, Thanks for this video. really help-full. I have a question in this video the reading in LCD showing only of weight can you please share the video, Reading of Force how it is applying. It will be really help-full. This video is really awesome form most of the other video i got it. Many thanksss !!!!!
Another video which is usefull as well
You're soo cool man
how to measure continues.
or can we put weight and don't take out or what happens if we.
example : if we put under water tank and measure, how long it working.
@electronoobs Great video. What did you mean that the accuracy can be improved by 'more measure loops' in the code. Can you pls explain ?
I wonder if you could get any force measurement from a regular resistor?
perfect
Do you think a CNC digitizing touch probe could be made using these?
Hi
How could i measure force in newton/meter using the strain guage?. What component i need to convert the analog voltage to newton/meter (force)?
greetings sir, may you confirm that you are using half bridge strain gauge for this load cell?
wow
cool project
ill try it
sameerUNO from Twitter
sir which software did u use to create this effects and animation, because i need to submit the project presentation in college.
Did you need to amplify the signal with additional components when using the strain gauge?
I've also read that using more than 1 strain gauge can reduce error (for example, configuring 4 of them in a wheatstone bridge). Might be an interesting video.
While the HX711 I generally regard as fit for the trash, it does have a built in programmable gain. This combined with it's old sigma-delta design gives generally better quality and less noisy data (SAR uses sample and hold, Sigma-Delta "integrate" over time). There are many many strain gage configurations depending on what you are mechanically trying to sense. Poisson setups, bending arrangements, differential beam arrangements, etc. Each using multiple strain gages. Search Omega Strain positioning PDF for a quick reference.
I am very new to electronics and I wanna built the compression sensor. Can I use the HX711 with only one strain gauge and how to connect it since there are only two wires? please help.
Does this sensor also work on a piece of cloth ?
So with HX711 i can only use two strain gauge in a half bridge? Is there a board where i can use four strain gauge in a full bridge?
Hello sir can you please make a video on programming microcontroller through atmel studio
Bro i want to ask a question about hx711
hx711 datasheet says if we send 25 pulse it will send a input
if we send it 26 pulse it would answer with b input
but there is a huge question in my mind.
we have already got the all data before sending 26th pulse.
can a load cell coupled with servo motor, or I will need an AC Motor to work with a Load cell (Strain)
Hey, great job 👏... it's so fascinating:) I have a question, is it possible to identify the position of objects using the same sensors?
Im sure it would be possible in at least one direction as strain increases linearly so as long as you know some basic info it would just be simple math
Greeting
I have one question and maybe two :-).
I would like to make one bee scale, but simple. Is it possible that there are only sensors under the hive or possibly hx711.
And when I want to know how much weight it is, I connect only the arduino and it reads the state with hx711. All this interests me because of the consumption of the arduino and the batteries are quickly discharged and the weight is canceled again.
I hope you will be able to help me and I am weak with this technique and thank you very much in advance.
with wich colposant you've converte the résistance of the gauge to the voltage please ?
Hi, where can I find this white paste for sealing the contacts? What is it called?
if i dont want to connect the arduino to the laptop but instead ill connect it to a power source like battery, will it still work?
i have strain gauge 3 wire, how could it connect to the HX711? in ur explanation, i see that u using 4 wiring
What is caliberated load and how can we calculate it to put it in the codes
Can the keypad be added to the project to add the item price and multiply it by weight in kilograms 🌷
how about using this scale for the 3Dprinter spool ?
Thought this was a great Scott video at first lol
Hello
I used the same organs like you. The problem is, on the screen I get a variation on the value obtained after the weighing.
So I need to stabilize this value, I don't know if there is a component / organ (filter for example) that I can use to stabilize the displayed value.
Please help me
Congratulations for the video. I have a question, i hope that you can help me.
The values that appear between the minutes 6:56 to 7:14 are voltage? or how can i convert these values in voltage?
The values from 6:56 to 7:14 are the readout of the HX711. There is a formula to convert from these values to the voltage. Assuming the relationship is linear, a known mass is needed in order to calibrate the scale and find the formula.
hey I'm having issues downloading your libraries, can you show hoe to add them to the IDE?
Great
Thank you for a very nice video. One question though, how do you expect the longitudinal placement of the load on the load cell to affect the resistance measurement? If you think of it as a bending bar, it seems like the resistance would increase if you place the load further from the strain gauges as the lever arm would be longer.
I've got the same question. You would measure the torque (M), and divide it by the lever arm length (l), than you would get the force (F), because M = F x l
Actually, in this video, he got it wrong. The aluminum is not acting like a lever. Here's a video explaining it in detail, starting at minute 1:57 :) ruclips.net/video/sxzoAGf1kOo/видео.html
@@Bella11Ba I completely agree with you. That load cell looks like a lever arm to me and I'd think the deflection would depend on how far away you place the load. When I Goggle this, there's a surprising lack of results on this topic. I'd have to think the load would need to be directly above an identical spot on that load cell to be accurate.

whats the name of the white glue you were using? :)
Instead of weight, can this strain gauge measure pressure?
what type of arduino are u using?
can I connect single strain gauge to that amplifier?
thank you .... please how can i get the software?
Dude I was just looking at those on aliexpress a couple of days ago... What are the odds...
