Welcome back, great reaction. This video is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the launch of their first album, 'BABYMETAL Death' was the first song on the album. They had not played it live since 2017 because it is an intro song and they are introducing themselves by name, but they couldn't really use it with just two official members and Yuimetal didn't appear at all after October 2017 and officially announced she was leaving the band in October 2018. This performance was on 2nd April 2023 - the first concert with Momometal as an official member, so 'BABYMETAL Death' was back ... I'm glad you heard the crowd cheer particularly loudly when she introduced herself as "Momometal desu". Momoko was the last remaining Avenger since about March 2020. Riho signed up with another agency as a solo artist, Kano has her own group @OneFive with Amuse. It just made sense that Momoko should become the third member in the "new" BABYMETAL as she was supporting Su and Moa for 4 years since 2019. The Metalverse thing is a bit confusing - as well as being the name of the new group (they performed 'Karate' with BABYMETAL in these concerts) the Metalverse is also the title of the new era for the BABYMETAL lore since the Metal Resistance era ended.

And yes, they will always have our support, simply because they deserve nothing less and no group deserves it more imo. People who still can't get over it's three girls in the beginning and three women now, who dance with a metal music playing may be a lost cause. But Babymetal have always only stood for and hoped to inspire good in people. That is something this world needs more of imo, and is a big reason why they are my favorite group. They are always polite, thankful and appreciative, and never boastful or arrogant or dismissive. I'm eternally thankful for Koba deciding to above record sales or money choosing to let the girls have their privacy intact, and not sexualized them gor cheap money. They stand with dignity, and I can not in words explain how much I love this group. 😊 Going to check "Yava" now. It's a groovy classic! I know you'll like it

Not only does 'SU-METAL DESU' mean she's introducing herself, it's also her super-hero transformation phrase. Like on Sailor Moon, Usagi says 'Moon Prism Power!' and turns into Sailor Moon, Suzuka Nakamoto shouts 'I AM SU-METAL' and becomes possessed by the spirit of the Fox God and transforms into the Metal Goddess SU-METAL. The magical girl who transforms into a hero is a huge trope in Japan, comparable to Disney princesses in the west. BABYMETAL DEATH! follows the trope and it's the moment that they all transform into their magical alter egos at the start of the show. 🦊 🦊 🦊 🖖 ❤
And again , the Real title is Babametal desu, even if they always write Babymetal dearh. It is their traditionell opening, but since 2017 they could no longer use it. But once they got Momoko as their new third member it was reimplemented again. They were taught to use Stage personas and this song was designed to help them into their sage persona.
