there is a minecolonies add on that makes the gunner an option for guards, who use the revolver from immersive engineering. It is called “comparability add on for minecolonies”
That would probably be the easiest way to do it. He would need to mess around with train signals though to make it work realistically. But probably doable.
Everything about the blast furnace is realistic except for the catwalk inside. The slag area is how some blast furnace slag outputs are actually managed but they normally make a small pit so the slag doesn’t flow everywhere. Also the way that the blast furnace is loaded isn’t conveyors, they’re loaded by 2 big buckets called skips that use the other’s weight and assistance from a which to pull each other up and down the track up the side of the furnace
The catwalk is actually a real part of Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, it was used occasionally for scraping excess slag that got stuck to the inside of the furnace basin
Sbeev worked for 200 years to afford a small coffin house that is 1 meter by 1 meter. Using galvanized square steel, he built a secure frame secured using expansion screws borrowed from his aunt.
Fortunately deflectors are really cheap and in my experience tornadoes just pick up entities, gravel, leaves, dirt, and sometimes logs. So if your house uses planks or harder you'll be fine.
instantly recognized from the pic. when i was in high school we participated in a jazz ensemble competition there each year and the winning place opened for some of their bigger concerts.
Perhaps you can use your current drawbridge and just run some invisible phantom rails across the gap with the drawbridge being a purely visual thing. I’m sure you can do something with station schedules, red stone and timings to make it wait for the bridge to raise and lower correctly
Something I find funny is how I build a 1900s style steel mill (not really like this one) like a week ago on my own create world. IDK the desire to build giant steel mills in minecraft is a common one
The future is in Electric Arc Furnaces. I work at a steel mill and there's a lot of ways that the material glows. I'd love to see a modern mill, with an arc furnace, press, and rolling mill!
@@corinneconverse6070it's good to know there's still steel production in the States. It used to be the beating heart of our industry, I'm glad we don't get all our steel imported.
For your next bridge, there is one called the Green Island Bridge in Troy, New York. This bridge is different in that instead of splitting in the middle, it lifts the whole bridge up out of the way. This might be easy with rope pulleys. Hope this gives you inspiration!!
Sbeev is really good at making awesome builds that never feel 100% finished. On the inside or the areas around the actual build it always looks kind of bare or has random torch spam, gaps etc
You can use regular mechanical bearings to assemble and disassemble on rotation completion. It would make your town's drawbridge and the rail bridge function as roads. The glue handles the actual disassembly and reassembly process.
Would recommend a mod called Create: Bells & Whistles for trains to push entities (colonists) off to the sides rather than them getting carried away or run over.
Im a maintenance supervisors for a steel mill in Michigan. The slag and front loader is correct. Chains on tires and they collect the slag. You did a good job on this build! Im actually at work right now watching this!
I’ve been to the Carrie Furnace in Pittsburgh, and it was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. It’s good to hear that others appreciate this technology as much as I do
I watched your entire 4 hour video, im so invested in this series even if my monley brain cant comprehend the features and components of the Create mod, like how do i use a cog wheel 😂
Been watching your series for the past week, this is a really fun intriguing lp and been glad to get back into watching minecraft vids again, thanks sbeev!
what if you added a lava generator in the basement, it could mimick the molten slag from the mill and be transported away by trucks or carts/tiny trains and or stored for furhter use? Imagine having a fleet of tiny trains to transport the slag like the irl pic u mentioned, would be CREATE as hell man!!
Idea for drawbridge, use some of the invisible tracks to connect the railroad, have the physics objects for visibility, and make sure the drawbridge is synced to train signals or something
you got to disable “spawned tornados head for player” so every storm doesn’t just head straight towards you once they spawn. find it in tornado mod config, advanced, i believe 6th page
you can improve some frames by right clicking on cogs, shafts and belts with casings (Andesite Casings) it does not consume the block and generally in big machine rooms that do not expose their cogs, adding them on is just free frames
12:37 they should make a sub-mod for Minecolonies integrates create and addons and thus gives you the demand for a truly ridiculous amount of automation
12:03 is actually realistic, I’ve been to Sloss Furnace in Birmingham Alabama and while it’s not the exact same it’s a pretty similar design as this blast furnace. The cat walk was used to inspect the inside of the blast furnace
I have heard that using Framed Blocks with schematics can cause either performance issues or crashes, but I assume that will vary depending on the stability of the modpack. A lot of people recommend stuff like Copycat+ instead, but I do admit that Framed Blocks have more variations you can use in comparison.
Is if possible to add tinkers? I think someone in a previous episode mentioned that it is possible in the comments. I think that would be really cool to have in the steel mill, with all of the cast channels and alloying stuff
The Bethlehem Steel Mill. It's one of the famous ones around lake Erie, as the only two major steel mills that used lake freighters for a long time were Bethlehem Steel, Cleveland Iron co., and Mack Iron Works of Sandusky Ohio. The only other nearby steel mill to us in Ontario is the Hamilton with Stelco. 14:19 I literally guessed the correct number here nonchalantly thinking back to how the last one was 11 pages, and went "wait what?"
