I saw this movie at a friends house when I was 9 and it scared the ever living feck out of me .... I haven't been able to find it until now - 25 years I've been looking for it - I'll watch it again this week - see if it still scary xD
All the disasters that happened to their afflicted family were blamed on the old aunt's recklessness... She chose the ugly light despite her friend's criticism... Even when she injured her fingers and suffered from tetanus, she did not back down and insisted on sending a light, realizing that it was a dangerous thing for her sister's house She deserves what happened to her
I just got the dvd on amazon I got it in memory off my dad it took a bit off getting it was around 17 pounds as I had to pay postage and packing but it was worth it as it's my favourite movie
um, because they have only made like 50 of them, i like the first one but pt 2 possession is my all time fave except the "incest storyline" um gross, i'm so sure lol god bless...

another good sequel of the saga, that house over the edge, creates a fantastic look, not forgetting the nightmarish psychological moments, alongside the supernatural suspense, and the cursed lamp really looks gothic, creepy and fiendish, another possible piece of collection.
Omg just watched the trailer to this brings back memories I wish they would redo this 1 it would do justice not remake it redo it with today's technology and actors
Trailer? That's the entire movie condensed into 2 and a half minutes, including all of the biggest shockers, the drain, the plumber's death, and Nog (Aron Eisenberg) with the out of control chainsaw. LOL... R.I.P. Aron Eisenberg.
LoL I just ordered the Blu-ray of this and "It's About Time" Well on separate Blu-rays from Vinegar Syndrome cause even though the box set of the rest of the sequels of Evil Escapes to Dollhouse is now a rare to hard to find item. You can still buy each of the sequels on separate Blu-rays, but their gonna be out of print soon
Nah the first 3 films all of the interiors were sets, all of the exteriors were filmed in New Jersey - in this film they used an actual house in California for the exteriors and interiors. :)
This was the last quality entry in the Amityville movie saga, in my opinion. They've had about 865 all together by now, and each new one somehow manages to be worst than the last.
This movie was SO BAD it felt like a comedy movie I guess I don't even know how I'd categorize this film under 😂😂 WAY worse than the 3rd film! Let's just start by saying it felt corny for most of the duration. If you continue reading I warn you for SPOILERS 🙂. To begin with the movie begins with the SAME house from the first 3 films...How in the world did it come back after it exploded in the 3rd film??? Was it rebuilt? Did the plot take place between the first 3 films? The world may never know, for there is no explanation WHATSOEVER 😂😂. All we see is a yard sale taking place right after an exorcism was performed in the house which was kinda funny with all the doors opening and closing fast inside the home... Then an old lady buys the lamp which got possessed by the WHATEVER THAT THING WAS 😂 (Squidward's old uncle perhaps) and the lamp goes ALL THE FREAKIN WAY to California 🤣 to a random house with a decent family which is on the other side of the country. Some people in the house don't like the lamp which I find it to be an ordinary reaction which is fine. But that's where weird shit starts happening...First the bird dies by being burnt in a mini oven and the son didn't suspect the mother to have killed it at all...I'm not gonna go over the entire plot but I remember the older sister starts brushing her teeth and didn't notice the water turned into some sort of black goo 😅 which reminded me of charcoal toothpaste 😂. And that same crap falls under the plumbers face when he goes to try to fix the pipes in the home and somehow he dies from it and his van starts driving away BY ITSELF 😂😂. And it didn't even show if the family discovered his body later in the basement? Then the priest who performed the exorcism in the beginning of the film manages to visit the new home but runs away scared 😂?? It's so weird because the reaction didn't fit his character at all 😅. Anyway he leaves a letter or whatever to the mother and she eventually meets with him. By the end of the movie the grandmother beats the crap of the demon lamp 😂 after the little girl was acting abnormal for most of the story and the lamp falls on the rocks near the shore by the house and randomly explodes! To sum things up grandmas get the job done BETTER than holy water and a priest 😂😂. Skipping to the very end the cat which is the house pet goes near the broken lamp which was quite far and below the ground level from the home no idea how the hell he got there 🤔🤣 and becomes randomly possessed?? The whole thing felt like I was watching a Spanish soap opera 😂. Seriously this joke of a movie made me not wanna watch the next films 😒. But the hell wit it let's see where this franchise goes 😆! I'll give it a 3/10 ‐ 1 for the story and 2 for it being hilarious! I wonder if that cat even appears in any of the next films lol. Probably not from what I've seen... Also wtf happened to the priest from the 2nd film after the end? I'd say the 3rd film is where the franchise starts to go downhill. Wonder what made them want to keep making these movies. They should should just reboot the franchise and fix what happened with the priest after the second film! 😂😂😂
Classic, I watched this on TV in 89. I was 5 and hated lamp shades for a while hahaha. Been looking for this for a while and forgot the name of it

You know,
It takes a real devout and ordained priest to expel the forces of evil out of a house. Whether they’re Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox.
Yup. They have to be really devout and pure. No empty spaces. They also have to fast and be sound of mine to do so as well
