    As a musician and an armwrestler I totally get what Evan's saying about alcohol helping his performance. I used to play drums sober and had to learn play them drunk. After years of playing drunk, I had to re-learn to play them sober. Also the state of mind, the flow and feeling can also be easily acquired by alcohol consumption. It can help you get "in the right place" in your head, or just get the right flow going, help with stage - fright etc.... In my own experience, alcohol can help you in both playing intstrument or armwrestling. I'm not saying it's for everyone tho...

    • @KreatorMode
      @KreatorMode 2 года назад +1

      Agreed! Alcohol can put you in that sweet spot, but if you consume too much, it's over lol I've played in bands for years and finally came to terms that my playing is sloppy overall while drinking, even after trying to get better at it. Some guys are way different though, and Dimebag was a good example of that.

      In terms of focus, yes in some extent considering it's a stimulant but in terms of strength it really doesn't. In your case it seems more of focus/concentration so yes it does help though it may effect differently depending with the person's mental state.

    This guy has a very high alcohol tolerance, build up from decades of heavy drinking. A few beers and some vodka will probably calm down any nerves and in return he'll get enhanced focus. Pain tolerance also goes up. Which can be very beneficial. Drunken boxing is a real thing too. But there is a very fine line. Once you cross this line and are completely inebriated, uphill battle.

    It might actually be a genetic thing, seeing as my dad was a drunk, but I believe it has more to do with tolerance. It takes a few months of constant drinking or smoking weed to build it up. Once you build it up you can THEN use it to an advantage. People have a huge misconception with weed making you dumb because they're not used to it. If you build up a weed tolerance you can start to use that laser focus and increased senses in general. With booze I know I can tap into that aggression and ignore how injured/tired I am easier. I don't drink anymore, but I have practiced both ways when I was drinking or smoking often. Again: It may have something to do with genetics, but I believe it's like anything... just getting your body and mind on the same page with whatever you're introducing it to. Kind of on the same page of being able to build immunity to poisons and diseases, which works the same way for the most part... considering alcohol is literally a poison.

    If you keep the mixture right, you just ignite it moments before the fight....can last from 45 secs to 4 to 5 minutes of all go.
    Then more beer. ;)

    The whole beer stronger thing is true, well, not stronger, it's just you don't hold back. Most people have limits where they go to and then either knowingly or subconsciously ease off/stop to avoid injury. Very few will go to that point consciously (even though they say they will) because a broken arm will put them out of business for a while or possibly forever.
    Adrenalin on the day helps, but there is more left in the tank. Look at how ordinary people are somehow able to do things like roll a car to get someone out before it catches fire. It's adrenalin and the knowledge that if they don't, the person/s will die, so you remove your own personal risk of injury in order to save them.
    I think beer, in this case, works due to the buzz you get where you feel good, feel invincible, and the fact that it removes that inner voice of "oh shit, you better stop before your arm snaps."

    I pull stoned at every practice, but I start sober. I've also competed stoned but I find the best way to do it is to avoid an adrenaline dump.
    Pulling on mushrooms is *transcendental* but I recommend doing it on the way down rather than on the way up, and you'd better be experienced with hallucinogens

    Id love to see Evan win at least a couple rounds. If it was left handed id give him a better chance. Everyone automatically thinks schoolboy will win. We will see. goodluck to you Beerman Bourgoin.
