As to why it sounds quieter...it is because the blades on the second turbo (large) on the exhaust side cuts down sound. By putting compressing the exhaust between the turbos it quiets the buffeting if you will. Smoothens out the pressure
Nice work making the pipes ,brackets and wrapping! That air filter is going to be plugged with soot if he doesn't route that big chargers outlet thru the fender or hood...maybe he's trying to comply with the late model emissions standards by using his homemade egr system ! Requires no egr cooler using the underhood air to cool it off before recirculating some of the exhaust! He's a genius lol.
your an idiot if you think 10 or 20 degrees Celsius would make any noticeable difference in this setup considering the air get super heated twice by two giant turbos
Question for the next q and a session. Your projects are always so clean, what would you reccomend for cleaning the engine compartment? I am going to do valve lash adjustment as well as new front end components and want to start with a clean work enviroment but dont want to damage anything with the pressure washer. Thanks. Early 04 3500 quad cab short bed.

The lable on the can has a warning about Phosgene on it. It can kill you or make you very sick and it dosnt take much to kill you. I had a friend die from Phosgene poisoning he was only 23. So sick to build it rather then buy it. The diesel world is ridiculous for companies way over charging on any upgraded part. That's maybe a 5000$ or more upgrade for 2500-3000, 90% of that or more just in turbos. Sticking it to the big companies
so I got a question for u boys. I have a 01 24v and my a.c. only blows out if my defroster I believe it's a vacume leak issue. What's the best way to find a vacume leak?
Reilly Kannally get a mightyvac vacuum pump .go under dash on driver side I believe. Find the vacuum actuator for blend doors.It should be size of A D battery. on later models they went electronic and need to be shop replaced and programmed ugh. Ok so once you find the actuator with blower on apply vacuum and see if it changes where the air blows. If it does you need to find vacuum line where it goes thru firewall and trace it back to its engine source. Will be a hard plastic line going thru firewall. If it does not move direction of air thru vents your actuator is bad.

+GREG_ALBERALLA Hey Greg i recently bought a 01 5 spd 2nd gen with a 4 inch straight pipe, afe cai and a edge juice with attitude programmer. when i get on it it seems like there is a lot of turbo lag, when the turbo finally kicks in it seems like it's time to shift. I guess the question im trying to ask is there any way to reduce the amount of turbo lag via the edge on it or some other mod? your advice or anybody else's will be greatly appreciated.

It got quieter because turbochargers act as mufflers. It's the same reason why some manufacturers don't include mufflers from the factory.

Johnny Sendit I run a dt360 exhaust manifold on my 24v head...I had to machine it down it fit, I and swear it out flows my last t4 steed manifold
