- In this full live concert, the American jazz vocal group The Manhattan Transfer perform an extensive collection of their repertoire.
With their unique blend of voices, the sublime Janis Siegel, Cheryl Bentyne, Alan Paul and Tim Hauser bring the audience to
their feet in the The Haque Congress Building at the Netherlands’ North Sea Jazz Festival 1987.
The concert features many of their well known songs of the nine albums they had released untill 1987. They did songs from
‘Vocalese’, their most recent album at the time, as well as favourites from their earlier albums.
The Manhattan Transfer is an American vocal music group. There have been two manifestations of the group, with Tim Hauser
being the only person to be part of both. The group's name comes from John Dos Passos' 1925 novel Manhattan Transfer and
refers to their New York origins.

How about hiring a PROFESSIONAL SOUNDMAN?
I've been a professional trumpet player (including once playing lead trumpet behind Manhattan Transfer) for almost forty years, and in those forty years I have experienced well-engineered sound maybe five times.
Most "sound guys" should work for the f-ing postal service.

Cheryl was born in Mount Vernon, Washington. You can't get anymore American than that.
I have nothing to reproach Cheryl Bentyne with. She is absolutely organic and natural!
