This fight is sick man, the VA did a good job, at the beginning you can tell he's pissed at Raven, can hear the hatred in his voice. Then when he talks about your resolve and realized you are fighting for something yourself and have sacrificed something, even if he doesn't know what, you can hear his voice go back to normal. Like he's happy that Raven at least found a purpose and isn't totally mindless.
In the Fires of Raven route, Rusted Pride plays for Rusy, marking you the Villain of Rubicon In the Liberator of Rubicon route, Rusted Pride plays for you, passed down from Rusty the Hero of Rubicon
This is the classic mecha staple of fighting your best friend because you're stuck on two different sides of the war. Neither of you wants to go through with it, but you don't have a choice.
The weight on his shoulders is unbearable... he's literally fighting YOU to save the planet, and you don't even realize you're the actual villain. That "Pulse Armor Recovery" gets me every time, he was DETERMINED to save the world.
The fight of ideals is really good, because both Rusty and 621 are fighting for the good of something, and just so happen to clash For 621, we see time and again just how incredibly dangerous even a tiny amount of coral is and we know it is exponentionally growing, with the observers theorising that the coral would inevitably create a vacuum decay like scenario where it just begins to scorch the universe rapidly, we are convinced to commit to the lesser of two evils to stop that doomsday. Meanwhile Rusty is trying to stop the lunacy of burning an entire solar system to stop a threat that may or may not even happen. It makes doing both endings so fun for me, because I can understand and honestly support both sides knowing the full story.
It's really ambigious if you're a villain here. Leaving Coral alone will cause them to merge with humanity one way or the other, essentially ending humanity and resulting in some kind of symbiosis. O'Keefe directly says it - sure it sucks being a human in the world of AC, but it could be still preferable to not being a human anymore. And if you would want to remain human, burning the coral is the only way. That doesn't neccesarily make one evil.
And what sucks more... Rusty doesn't hate you at all and in fact respects you, but he feels he has to stop you no matter what, even if he doesn't want to. Defeating him makes the battle weigh even more.
@@andyb6400he is not mind controlled ? He wants to destroy the coral (mission given by his ancestors) and he give that mission to you in fire of raven ending but he try to kill because you want to save the coral
My first fight with Rusty was so raw. Got him on my first try, but not without expending ALL my ammunition (I had a double trigger build) and sometime after I activated his final phase, he activated my Terminal Armor, and from there it was just an all-out fist fight. There I was, all out of ammo and repair kits, both of us running on fumes, dashing towards Rusty like a madman to punch him to death for the last bit of his health. It really felt like some straight up anime rivalry shit and I'm sad I'll probably never get to relive that moment
The amount likeness between Rusty and Pixy, from the way they nickname the player, the role the play in the story and the very way they talk to the player. Crazy
Im so glad I did this ending second. This fight had so much more impact for me. I didn't want to do it. "You must of chosen something, sacrificed something. You found your purpose didn't you, buddy." made me tear up. It was so unexpected from a game like this. FromSoftware has truly made a masterpiece.
I unfortunately did it for my first, had a feeling it was the bad ending when i took more money and pissed off ayre. Then i knew it was when i had to fight my buddy :(
Something I just noticed, which was admittedly probably obvious: Rusty only heals twice before his terminal armor hits (and he heals again). I always just assumed his final repair after the terminal armor was some sort of resolve thing but no, it was set up within the fight and still abides by the rules of the game which is really cool.
God this fucked me up even more than Solaire. Rusty’s such a heroic figure, the reveal of his true conviction like this was jaw dropping and the setpiece and music made it hit so hard.
The ONE character in the story you want to fight alongside every mission, and you have to kill him... man, still love how amazing the story is in this game the more it unfolds
I love how Rusty is essentially the Armored Core equivalent to Solo Wing Pixy. I haven't got Armored Core 6 yet but I will eventually. Someone needs to make that Ratatouille meme of Anton but with Pixy and Rusty.
In this game i had two builds, my actual fun build which was either sniper with melee, or dual pistols. Or my cringe build that just turned the game on easy mode, I could not bring myself to cheaply beat rusty, I always fought him fair and square no matter how hard the fight was.
Why are you fighting the best boss fight in the ground bro? You know there’s unlimited boost in that mission right? Developers intended it that way otherwise it’s just like any other boss. You scrub 😳
Everybody saying how sad this fight was....meanwhile I killed him with a blank expression on my face, the same way I destroyed all other enemy ACs in the game 😅😅😅
Those who survive a long time on the battlefield start to think they're invincible. I bet you do, too, Buddy.
Rusty and Pixy. Both say buddy. And their names end with a "y".
"Look's like we both still got what it takes"
"Now we find out who's number 1!"
"Have you found a reason to fight yet... Buddy."
"You found your purpose... didn't you buddy?"

Dude, i just found out if you assault boost straight at the beginning he does it too and rams into you head first as well, :0 such a sick boss fight
You're also quite literally the Char Aznable to his Amuro Ray, as I've seen pointed out many a times.
Rusty will always fly high inside my heart, only he can.
In the Fires of Raven route, Rusted Pride plays for Rusy, marking you the Villain of Rubicon

and it feels so good both ways lol, even if it's a little bit bittersweet haha
villain of rubicon, hero of the universe.
Rusty's OST is probably one of the best ones in all of armored core.
What’s this ost called?

There aren't any villains in this story. There are just different heroes
@fencel4143 yeah, exactly. He's just an asshole
"Rusty! It's good to see ya, buddy!"
"Save it!"
"RUSTYYYYY!"
God tier reference
God I hear that ear piercing scream
"Buddy, huh? Do him a favour tourist, remember him" Man that hit hard
Rusty is a straight G. The man plays on my heartstrings.
Bros shredding
Barely beat him, had to fight through tears. I swear I'll liberate Rubicon in the next playthrough!!!
the best and saddest fight of all the game..
I think the endboss of the Fires of Raven ending is sadder.
No the boss fight against a mind controlled Walter is like 10x sadder

This bossfight was already sad and epic but the music just ties it together. Most emotional fight in game by far. Next to walters
This fight made me ugly cry. Wait for me, buddy...I'll be right behind you. You can chew me out on the other side...
Rusty is the true wingman. All or nothing buddy.
You can AB straight in to Rusty so you will have an epic headlock to begin with
The writing and VA in this game is absolutely fantastic. Never thought I would get a lump in my throat from an AC game.
Man missed his new unmuzzled wolf emblem in the second fight
God this fucked me up even more than Solaire. Rusty’s such a heroic figure, the reveal of his true conviction like this was jaw dropping and the setpiece and music made it hit so hard.
with the color scheme, and the way he moves, its like fighting Anubis mech from zone of the enders
"he set me up on the wall and left me to die, now he wont stop calling me buddy"

it broke my heart having to fight the selfless hero
"Yo buddy, still alive?"

Our buddy just denying death was the scariest part of this fight

I surprisingly felt more bonded with Chatty. So when Chatty died I was like: Gtfo of my way Rusty I have a mission to finish!

Thank God I went with other choice. Fighting alongside Rusty is the best possible outcome
Quite literally the ending of Char's Counterattack Except Char wins
Solo Wing Rusty
Except Rusty is the hero in this situation
Reverse Solo Wing Rusty then. And we are reverse Cipher, with our own improvised ICBM... except the ICBM is a city@@khornethebloodgod4155
I came here so I can cry at work.
Rusty has became one of my favorite characters in any game. He's a soldier, a friend, and a real hero. God speed.... 😭
Did this ending on my second run.
Was sad
This fight broke me
It's better if both can be together then fight whoever it's

Not using target assist is a fatal mistake. This made your laser lance absolutely useless.
Same from like season 7
