Just wondering when you changed the name on the txt file and open up id again theres no “error” sign for change. Lets suppose you changed up on txt file and open it up id again and just forgot the change you have done, thats a little creepy for that situation that Id doesnt show any sign for that...

I'm really ineterested in the next step. Exporting them by every two pages into a different pdf file... So one pdf contains a same back and a different front. I know I can type the page numbers at each export by number 1-2, 3-4 etc, but with a batch of 100+ names, that's very time consuming. There must be an automated way to do this, I just can't find it.

Would be quicker to just typeset the details on each card in my opinion

I use the Excel method (see my comment) and have different people or the client fill it in. This way I do the lay-out and receive my info from somewhere else.
Most have Excel, but not InDesign. They use the same Excel file to sent me updates and I just import them in InDesign and send it back as a PDF.

For this 5 names, maybe, but tipically you have a company with 100 names on badges or biz cars...

You can also create an Excel file and 'save as' and iso the regular Excel file choose one of the following, depending on your system - 'Tab delimited' .txt or a 'Tab Separated' .txt file.
Indesign uses the first row (A) as your input data. You can even use the same method to include images and QR-codes by having the title be @images or #Qrcodes, and listing the links underneath (copy the names of the images stored in the same folder)

Thanks Stinger! I actually did an update vid on this topic and included some of the examples you mentioned ➡ ruclips.net/video/QEN30XQiiiA/видео.html
I didn't know about the QR code tip. Very cool! I am going to try that out. Thanks for sharing!
