    My Dad has this on tape and played it for me when I was a kid (I'm 38 now, I was like 8 or 9 at the time I think). Super spooky. He'd always play it at night too, like right before it was time for bed. Needless to say, I was wide awake for an hour.

    This one is my absolute favorite Suspense episode. I found her acting to be so believable!! I was terrified for her and frustrated for her and I almost started crying. I’m almost 40 and I have a lot of serious health problems. I think about how I’ll progressively get worse and I might be bed bound and one day my husband might get tired of taking care of me 💔

I can't imagine how hard it is for you and for you and your husband but I'm praying and sending hugs for you both and to be strong. I know it may sound dumb for me to say this since I have no clue what you're going through, but I had to say something to you. I hope at least knowing that someone that read your comment felt for you and took time out to try to make you feel better🥺💕💖🩵💜 much love from Toledo Ohio

    I listened to this radio show in school, and i think that it's a pretty cool idea to listen instead of watching a movie because you have to think of the visualization in your head, which is exciting and i think there should be more of these while your driving and listening to story drama

      In early popular television, a lot of actors, directors, and watchers pined for the old days of radio. You get the benefit of sound and a steady plot, but you have to imagine the whole thing in your head. Just more interactive I think than watching television.

    "Sorry, Wrong Number"was written by Lucille Fletcher. Her husband Bernard Hermann scored the music (and many other radio shows including Alfred Hitchcock's movie "Psycho"). "Sorry, Wrong Number" is probably the most popular radio drama of all time. It was also done on "SUSPENSE" 8 times from 1943 until 1961 when the show ended. All of those performances starred Agnes Moorehead in a 30 minute version. In 1955, Miriam Hopkins flew to Sydney, Australia and performed it for the Australian LUX Radio Theatre in the only 60 minute radio version known to exist.
    It is extremely well done and the plot is more developed due to the longer time slot. Miriam Hopkins is ably assisted by the creme of Australian radio actors of the time. The 60 minute restored version is available through Radio Archives in their Archives Treasures Volume 23.

      He did it. The film adaptation implicates the husband. He hired someone to kill her, make it look like a botched robbery and collect on her life insurance policy.

    Stop asking "is anyone here for school" because you know most of the people here are for school. If you ask this people will know your just begging for likes.

    Did people really talk like that in the 40's, or was it an affectation for entertainment?

    • @ko7577
      @ko7577 2 месяца назад

      I wasn't alive in the 40s, but my grandparents would have been, and yes, they had a different way of speaking, more formal.

      Yes, people really spoke like that. It was an affectation that was called a "mid Atlantic accent".

      @@WhatHaveIDoneWithMyLife Yes, she is irritating, but she’s trying to do the right thing. This reminds me of Mrs. Kravitz on Bewitched. She got a lot of grief but she was telling the truth.
