We all sometimes think about the possibilities of living and surviving in some unfavourable locations; then Life Below Zero popped up on National Geographic Channel in 2013 to answer all our lingering doubts.
The show premiers people living in the remote areas of Alaska, surviving and dealing with the many different challenges that come with living so remotely in such a tough atmosphere.
The show also follows how the subsistent hunters- featured cast members make money venturing into various businesses in the remote areas of Alaska.
Sue Aikens is one of the hunters of the show from day one; the network heard of her unique lifestyle and picked up interest in her. Ever since the show premiered, she has continuously made quite an impression. However, so much has happened over the years, leaving many wondering what happened to her.
Let's find out what has happened to her!

Sue is still on life below zero. She’s an awesome lady I praise her for doing what she does
Sue is by far my favorite person on the show. She is an inspiration to me for working hard despite being tired and in pain. As a prepper (albeit a novice one), I take one of her quotes to heart, "To recognize the possibility of something bad happening is to be prepared for it".
curious, what exactly are you prepping for?
@@michaelmccaffery2684
Great question.
I'm prepping to be as self-reliant as possible. I believe that severe economic downturns will come and lead to social unrest. This will be a time when it will pay off to be more reliant on self, and less on the societal benefits and local government services that people are accustomed to.
@@michaelmccaffery2684 You are being obtuse....
We preppers where not at the grocery store wondering what we are gonna wipe our butt with during COVID
This woman is amazing and courageous. I have the utmost respect for her.
She I's a fraud
She is amazing
She was
I love Sue shes got guts and drive ! But what pees me off how someone stold all her gas , that broke my heart.
By some lowlife that isn’t skilled enough to follow in her wake! I wish she knew who it was. I’m sure she’d put him in his place!
That's terrible that someone done stolded all her gas that she got.
Oh that piss me off too love her
Stold?

I am seventy seven and often suffer falls. Each time I would ask myself "what would Sue do?" Knowing what she would do I pull my self up and say "good job Sue, Thank you!" You are my inspiration.
Sue is my favorite. Shes so strong and independent
Lol she's the most annoying person the show has ever had
@@brandon6347 Seriously? Why do you say that?
She was my favorite. That lady is as tough as nails and super down to earth.
Tough as nails & not afraid to break them! Hoorah for Sue!!
Sue was my favorite character and why I enjoyed Life Below Zero. Like has been said. They broke the mold when Sue was made.
What a dynamic woman.
In 2018, I was a housekeeper at Chena Hot Springs Resort and one day she came into the store that serves as a small cafe. I recognized her voice immediately. I didn't talk to her as I was too shy, but I sat around and eavesdropped as she talked with others.

I admire this woman very much for her strength, determination, not giving up in the face of adversity, and more. Keep strong and true to yourself. Forever a fan.❤
I just love Sue , she is one of the hardest working determined and inspirational woman on TV. I so enjoy watching the show and she is most definitely a star in my eyes. Thank you Sue for sharing your life below zero with us ❤🙏
Hello Dianna
How are you doing today?
I am so tired of hearing this crap. Sorry for your children, but I will not give up my rights where your feelings begin. My 12yo son was hit by a drunk driver when riding his bike May 31st, 1996. Should automobiles be banned? Alcohol be banned? All these drunk driving laws, posters, awareness commercials, ect., and my son was still killed. Take away AR15s, then some other tool of mass destruction will be used. These idiotic laws and bans only affect the law abiding citizens, criminals don't car about your bans or laws. You people are a danger to the constitution and will not sign, vote, or anything against it.
her show was just 1 more fake bs reality show.lies lies lies
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sue is my favorite character on Life Below Zero. She is a force of nature. I’m glad she has a boyfriend but I’ll be very surprised if she gets married again. As we get older we get set in our ways, and her ways are how she’s survived. I know from my own experience it’s really difficult to live with someone else after living alone for many years. And she has such a strong personality. But she may have another, softer side that we don’t see. Whatever she does, I wish her all the best. She is an inspiration of courage and strength to women everywhere.
Boyfriend?? She just Added a Major Problem to Her Life!! SAD!!
@@gailcurl8663 That kind of anti male attitude is already dying out. Goodbye.
She is an inspiration to all humans not just females.
@@josephanders56I agree. I wish we could have continued insights into her life as she moves forward. She is a model for making the best of what is given, for those of us who were given much.
I would imagine that Sue is not only an inspiration to women but I'm sure she's quite an inspiration to many men as well.
Sue is the reason I watched life below zero. Her backstory is just as interesting as I imagined.
I love her. She reminds me so much of my Aunt Barb. Her mannerisms, her strength, and even her voice are so alike it’s crazy. My Barb has passed but watching Sue brings back memories I didn’t know I had. 😊💕
May Sue always be happy, healthy, and have what she wants & needs for the rest of her life!
My hat goes off to sue...She is who she is without apology, she fits perfect on the show and makes the show worth watching...Wishing you all the best life has to offer...
Hats off to Sue she is a serious badass. Few people have the grit she has, men included.
Few woman are as masculine as she is.

Why is it so surprising that a woman is doing what men have done forever, geez feminists where are you? Pioneer women did these things daily!
Sue is one tough broad. I admire her living alone so far away from civilization. I always enjoyed watching her shows. She is a beautiful woman inside and out.
They broke the mold after Sue...she's a remarkable lady.

Sue, you are incredible. You're what every woman should strive to be independent, intelligent, self sufficient, brave, fearless but not stupid. Who is humble and herself.
Her strength and her will is what every human should strive for. . Not only females.
Notice how she never wears any makeup? Great place to start.

Sue's segments on this show are my favorite. I also love her dog. 😍🐕
I lived in Fairbanks for 5 years maintaining a radio transmitter. I think this 'survival theater' is a hoot! It's just us, all alone........and our production team, base camp, EMT, etc.

@@GUITARTIME2024 I know. I live in Fairbanks and hunt... mostly at Fred Meyers and Safeway, but we do pull one caribou a year.

I couldn’t live this life for one day! That place gives me the creeps big time and I couldn’t stand being cold all the time. She’s a legend!

I named my cane after Sue, because it helps me regain my independence , i call it Miss Sue and it also helped me be more confident to be already using a cane in my 30s. Then later I learned Sue also uses a cane!!! It made me so excited, I love me some Sue 💜

Sue is quite a woman, living alone in the middle of nowhere managing a camp all alone and sustaining such life threatening injuries and survived it all especially the bear attack… God must love this brave and fascinating lady.

I wondered what became of her. I hope she is well and, at least, at peace with her life. Any time you've got it hard, just think about Sue, and maybe your life won't seem so rough.
Sue Aikens has lived a life that is not only a big challenge but full of problems. For those of us who live in a more civilized area it's hard to even imagine changing our lifestyle for Alaska. A living legend and a solid human being. I spent a few days with Sue in Scotland and she's the real deal a woman that bought all her kids houses and then told them it's all on you now. The best bit of advice was you've got to man up to get by..and she did kill a bear
I've watched that show a fair amount. I always felt that of all the featured people. Sue was the most "real". She has a lot of skills, but her best attribute is the willingness to dive right in and git er done. She thrives off of hardship and crises. Kinda good lookin too. LYS.

Of all of the people on Life Below Zero..Sue is my favorite person on the show.
Sue is so self reliant. She has her place which she seems to really love. She has a love in her life. Perhaps with all the hardships she's had to endure it's time to retire. Relax not have it so hard. I wish she had security cameras around. Maybe she did and wasn't talked about. One thing if she does go to her place please take the fur babies the foxes. They have gotten use to her and you can tell she really is attached to them. I have a fear if someone else takes the place over they may not want them around. That would be sad they are so pretty. Whatever she decides she will do very well. Just know Susan you will be surely missed. Please keep us posted. Perhaps start a RUclips channel of your own. I think you would do very well and get a lot of subscribers.
