Because they are made of mostly wood and canvas. There is only 1 place for it to explode from and that’s the fuel tank. (I’m the fuselage) ww1 aircraft rarely exploded on impact

War thunder has better graphics and is the successor to the game but the whole thing is a cash grab for the devs so play at your own risk
