  • Picture of Power Logic Probe
Having a logic probe on your toolbox it's a very useful tool to analyze and troubleshoot the logic state of a electronic circuit.
You can easily find out the High state or Logic 1 , "Positive", and Low state or Logic 0, "Negative".
But it's possible to improve the potencial of this tool, it would be nice having light on this probe to illuminate the area of work that we are probing.
When troubleshooting we can make mistakes so it's nice to have a probe that is protect against short circuit.
And also having the opportunity to give positive and negative to the circuit at will to power devices.
To power the probe connect the leads to 12v power supply and push the power and reset button to turn on the probe.
Now you can probe the wires to check the polarity, the red led will be positive or logic 1 and the green led will be negative or logic 0.
Thanks to the white leds you will always have a light work illuminating the wires under test.
Besides probing you can also power devices for exemple in a car, lights, horn, radiator fan, relays, etc , with the power button position 1 will give 12v positive on the probe tip and position 2 will gibe 12v negative to the probe tip.
The probe have also a circuit breaker to protect the probe and electronic circuit under test, to power back on just push the ower reset button.
This is a nice and easy project to make and a very good tool to have for diagnostic the car wiring or a electronic circuit.

Hi Id like to build the power probe, can you provide a material list and a more clear schematic, its not very specific, regads from México!!

Your wiring diagram is not right, there is a mistake on the second transisitor (BC557), because the configuration is bad, led and ressitance must be connected on the emissor. Mr Pozo found the error, he is an electronic enginner and he simulated it on proteus program. The schematic diagram was sucesfully tested.

a 12volt relay, 5volt zener diode two 1n4002 diodes , bc47,bc557, 22ohm 68ohm two 20k, 1k 2k resistors green led , red led two white led's , small pb reset switch spdt switch , wire 12 volt power source and some sort of probe tip device , could use finishing nail in a plastic

      what sort of relay though?

    • @jjbailey01
      @jjbailey01 4 года назад

@@adrianovergara1784 looking at the relay in the schematic at 2:21 , it is a single pole, normally open. Reading schematics will tell you lots of things that aren't written in words. This is one of those cases that just looking at the schematic will tell you what you need. Many relays include the switch contacts for both normally open and normally closed. So, basically just about any relay.

I do think that is a 1n4001 diode. His 1s look like 2s. A 1n4001 should work for this circuit. Also, where he said 20k and 2k resistors above should be 10k and 1k respectively.

Hi sir let me ask a question, is it possible to add up a digital volt meter to this circuit to show voltage and also would it be possible to detect both positive and negative as well as oscillating pulse like for automotive? Plus add up buzzer to make a low sound for negative and then high sound for positive and oscillating sound as well? Thanks

It is not clear on the video. I appreciate it if you could send it to me, I really want this project. Thank you very much!
