Pulling the Avic Eggsac

  • After 84 days, the female Avicularia avicularia wasnt looking quite right and I do not want to cause her any issues so took the decision to pull the eggsac that i was intending leaving with her to see what happened and allow nature to take its course.

      Hopefully they’ll grow. Still very fragile and definitely not out of the danger zone - but yeah, it’s a better result than expected after that time

    What are slings???does mom normally let them out when it's time then

      Slings are baby spiders. Spiderlings.
      Normally first step is eggs then eggs with legs (EWL) then nymphs and then spiderlings.
      In the wild they will sometimes open the sac themselves or mum will or they won’t and can pass. I’m surprised at this stage that the sac hadn’t opened and babies weren’t roaming the enclosure.
