God forbid an interviewer is actually enthusiastic about the subject of an interview. 🙄 Some of the ‘influencer’ type interviews are just saccharine circle jerks. It’s actually quite refreshing to see someone that excited about being in a factory, trying to hold that in, and still ask so many good questions. You have a new subscriber. 🤙
Ha, I came here to say exactly the same thing, and unsurprisingly found the top comment already stating it. I think I’ll comment it myself anyway so he has a better chance of seeing it and keeping his gob shut for longer😁
I can remember Dave Richards in the Isle of Man I think 1976 I was 15 and we ended up taking his partner with us in our car to watch him because she didn't have a lift.after watching the rally I came home to Wales and my future hobby was put into motion!!! Great video, thanks brought back some great memories.
I really enjoyed this video and shall probably watch it again. Everyone was so enthusiastic and some of those interviewed even managed to get a few words in now and again as well🤣🤣
Very interesting tour and what a facility, but, it would be fantastic if you’d keep your gob shut a little longer and actually let the interviewee finish their story, or even just their sentence. I’m sure they were most pleased. They do say that truly listening is an art in itself😉
Prodrive is very much alive and kicking and bigger than ever. An extremely informative & interesting look at their current setup and insight into the future of motor sport! Plus the look back at their progress through Rallying to where they are now!
what an amazing shop!! didn't Prodrive build F12 Ferraris before they went to the astons? those historic rally cars are so mega. I grew up watching group b. my dad bought an 86 audi coupe gt( the non quattro but same body) and I loved that era. the next era I loved was the Burns era with these little 2 impreza's. R.I.P. Colin McRae these in a tarmac setup looked so wicked. what an outstanding history Prodrive has. when you see a shop that looks more like an operating room you know this is top notch and only produce the best of the best. I think we need a head to head this Prodrive vs. a KImera 037. what do you think. outstanding video mate. thanks for bringing us along. cheers
I’ve researched the Subaru start here and in Japan translating into English , the president of Fuji Heavy Industry wanted to sell more cars and knew motorsport was the way to go. He got his 2 top guys at Subaru and told them they were to form a motorsport division and to go to Ferrari to see tye ferrari engine designer about a engine for a F1 idea and to go specifically to see Dave Richards. The 2 Subaru guys were into rallying and had used jap spec older Subarus on rallies down under and in Japan but really wanted to push the Legacy and a motorsport base model was to be manufactured which after a deal was done one went over to Banbury with a load of bits from STI . That’s the start of it with the Subarus , imagine if FHI president had said go see Geoff Fielding or Jolly Club
Another great insight into a motorsport company. Howard is obviously so knowledgeable and goes deeper than your average RUclipsr. Can’t wait for the next one, send him to Maranello 😮😂
The best video I have seen about prodive behind the scenes, the 2 davids a legands in motorsport and the company that brought us in Ireland the m3 and Subaru cars ❤
Good to know Richards is planning on doing something about rallying in Britain. Still not confident it will amount to much though. Like Howard rightly says, “tell us!”
Brilliant video, the only toy David Lapworth has is a Sherco Trials bike, awesome 👌 Why do Ralio not cover trials like they used to? The Welsh Youth trials scence is thriving, would be great to get some coverage again 👍
As always, another great and entertaining viewing. Definitely up there with the most informative videos on RUclips! Listening to such enthusiastic car guys talking about their passion is awesome 👏
I still have my prodrive Subaru jackets from back in 05’-09’ when I raced Subarus through the woods of the Midwest america, as well as the frozen lakes of minnesnowta.
Absolutely fascinating to watch. Always drove past prodrive and wondered what it was like inside. Would be nice if the people being interviewed could finish their dialog tho, gets quite annoying 😅
This is what I was told by a ex prodrive tech from the old old says The legacy’s rear suspension is based on a 6R4’s which is why the legacy RS handled and the early prodrive Subaru transmission was loosely designed on the Porsche
The first gen legacy rally car was my favourite, it sounds the best too. That one (Subaru BP) and the rothmans are my favourite. I want to build a tribute rally car with a 92’ legacy turbo wagon. Like Volvo did with the 850 in touring car I think Subaru should have did in rally with a leg wagon.
Change the regs to get back to the evo impreza era get the manufacturers and public back interested in the sport. Clean fuel like seb vettel working with
Welsh because its a welsh tv show adapted to youtube. the episodes require english instead of welsh because the people who are interviewed dont speak welsh.. 🤦🏻♂️
Was Colin only a hero because he died….? What, that’s the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever heard anyone ever comment about Colin McCrae. ! Really wow
Howard is 100% right about the F2/S1600 era. Renault, Peugeot, Ford, Vauxhall, Rover, Hyundai, Scoda, Proton, VW, Seat, all had entries in the BRC. The moment the MSA allowed group A WRC spec machines back in the championship it started to die all the way up to now. It's too expensive and loads of R5's are not the answer, for the spectators they are just to boring. Dump 4wd it has no future

Glad you didn't shy away from addressing the issues with British rallying Howard, well said at the end in particular. Nice tour too. 👍
I want to tell you this was one of the most interesting motorsport videos I have watched. I loved hearing him talk about the business and politics. 👍👍
Good how, he doesn't let whoever he is with , answer the question before butting - in and starts asking another one . Not annoying at all !!
Poor you 🙄
The worst one is with Mills... Howard needs to let people talk
Agreed almost like hes just asking as hes legily obliged. Doesnt seem to care abojt the answers

Waw what a set up. Hope they’re true to their words and working and trying to bring WRC back. Diolch

Wonderful insight into Prodrive, David Richards always seems happy to talk whenever interviewed and has such a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks for the interview. Dave is a lovely chap. A real credit to the UK 🇬🇧

Great conversation, so much more than rally Subarus, had no idea what a brilliant organisation Prodrive is.

Some very good points made from Mr. Richards there about the future of rallying
Your videos are the way alll interviews in the automotive industry should be
Good to know Richards is planning on doing something about rallying in Britain. Still not confident it will amount to much though.

Your passion is infectious! I love these videos, even my wife watched with me. Thanks again Howard!
Excellent, let's get that meeting in Newtown
Howard, you and your team have done a brilliant job at prodrive, very interesting did not realise so much going on there👍
Awesome video! I worked there for 9 yrs and never got that info lol 👍
What were they like to work for?
Very good overall. They had a good regime and looked after staff. Clean too :)@@saltiplumz2103
Great video Howard.
Fantastic to see such a organisation with still the same passion and how proud of what they achieved superb
Fantastic, always wanted to see inside Prodrive. Pass it on the M5 regularly. What a great insight into a fabulous business, thank you.

Well Done Howie - Superb Documentary - quattro Dave.....

Wish prodrive would start supporting the classic Subarus with panels aswell as suspension and engine components.
Great video thank you. As a BRC enthusiast, I am bagging to Mr.David Richards for save BRC🙏
Great video, always nice to see forgotten memories and times come back. Also like the Welsh accent, nice touch !
Lovely video Howard very good , what a place .
thanks for that Howard, amazing tour of prodrive. cheers mate keep up the great work
Great video as usual Howard.
Omg the 6r4 ❤

shame they never mentioned the btcc days with the ford mondeo
-Please don't interrupt. You ask the question, please wait for the answer!
Amazing………….
Such a cool place , driven past it loads a times
Remember Clarkson I the Prodrive car , that made him sick !!!!!
Nobody commented on the Warhol in the office? Pretty sure its a real one
Please try and wait until he finishes your last question before asking your next as it comes across like you’re not listening to him.
Shame the Rapid Fit Mondeo wasnt there , as it was by far the most technoligically advanced super touring car
I cant imagine how that big of a fuel tank with no baffles would work. I feel like youd have suction issues with a fuel pump
Proper Norf MC lad
I didn't realise the C.E.O was ex F1 !!!
Great show, but Howard, let them finish their sentences!
Don't be silly shop in Caerphilly 😂

Welsh because its a welsh tv show adapted to youtube. the episodes require english instead of welsh because the people who are interviewed dont speak welsh.. 🤦🏻♂️

Could you do this in English please
Really enjoyable video, but please let him finish answering and stop talking over him! - 40 mins 30 seconds for a couple of minutes as an example
whats with the sub titles the welsh can't understand english ?
I think the subtitles are to help viewers who don’t understand Welsh 🤷♂️
Awes
Great content but let people finish what they are saying.
sorry 550 Ferraris?
Ease down. Let the person answer before you move on. Great episode otherwise
He has a lot interesting insights to say. Let him finish his sentences. Quite rude to him.

Welsh? I'm American so please bear with my crippling ignorance
