But they added vampires that would break into the house during the night, which is more traumatizing. 😂 But they removed it after getting too much complaints.
When it was said they didn’t include robbers because they wanted to be inclusive to people with anxiety I laughed Bro everything makes me anxious robbers weren’t worse
One thing I always notice whenever I play the Sims 2 again is just how much naturally spicier romance options and kisses there are, they just have a lot more feeling behind it without being too much or anything, or how heavy the reactions would be to certain things like adultery, that just adds a bunch more spice and intensity with there even being kids' reactions, and I have a feeling that the whole "playing safe" is exactly why everything is muted and toned down, like the saturation has just been turned wayyyyy down on literally every more dramatic fun or risky aspect, which leaves it with barely any life
when i went back to playing the Sims 3 i was suprised how spicy the make out on couch/bed animations are compared to the Sims 4... it just looks a lot less goofy and cartoonish
As a gen z - you can have diversity AND gameplay. I grew up playing sims 3 and LOVED having things happened to my sims. Now i have to make drama myself if i want it and things don't really have consequences. It's not really fun. Bb is a whole another level, sure, but it barely has a personality.
This is why I really like your content Satch, you aren't yelling or screaming, you're always polite and kind but don't try to sugarcoat your feelings or opinions. It's refreshing and nice. Also even when talking about a serious subject you're still really funny. "I'm gay and I'm not offended" was hilarious
My theory for a long time has been that Sims 4 caters to a player base that includes young children, that parents allow their kids, 4-10 years old or so, to play the game, and EA chooses to dumb it down and make it more innocent so it's more family-friendly. As you rightly said, it's about the money, and if parents are buying packs and kits for their kids, EA will go where the money is. I'd be fine with that, if they'd give us hard-mode or grown-up mode or something. It's just too beige to play right now, and I have no expectation of anything better for the next one.
yeah, i won't want my child to play a life simulation that's too mature for kids. i didnt care when i didnt have any child, but when we become parents, we care..
I played sims 1 when I was around 6. I loved it but cried everytime my sim died 😅 sims 1 was hard especially because of the fires starting because you have no cooking skill at first 😅
I've been saying this for yeeeears 🥴 they are so focused on not offending anyone that the game is so blank. No spice, no drama, no consequences, no danger, nothing.
I really wish paralives would change that. I don’t think this game should be infant friendly. If we could have real prison, real drama, something like mental issues or maybe if characters who grew up in a negative environment would take a parasitic self-destructive path , alcoholism, certain violence, or that maybe they could go to therapist to get themselves on the right track. I really hate the cartoonish vibe of sims 4. Just lift the bar to 16/18+ goddamn it
@@prisonisinourminds8070 yeah I know just some kind of realism and challenge. There are enough simulation games for kids, sims was never intended to be one too. They really ruined it by targeting kids
I agree! The sims series has always included diversity but it was never the entire point and personality of the game until TS4. And that’s why the sims 1-3 are more fun and memorable imo. I miss the better storylines and lore, burglars, and the cake with the strippers lol.
Only diversity they prioritize on is their appearance. Most of my created sims always seem to act the same and lack on personality traits compared to sims 3.
I'd love a decades packs since there's a popular challenge about it, which I love doing. 1900s Edwardian long dresses, suits, and hats. 20's flapper dresses and newsboy hats for boy children. 30s long movie star gowns. 40s zoot suits. 60s makeup and teased hair and Beetle bowl cuts. And the build/buy items! Vintage toilets/outhouses, Art Deco lamps, atom punk clocks, ROTARY HOME PHONES. They could even do the EA capitalist thing and make each decade a pack and I would buy them all.
@@jalapeno1119 That would have been really cool! It might have to be a separate game though, like Sims Medieval. There's so much decidedly modern animations and setup in the game (the most obvious being using your phone for almost anything) that anything even remotely realistic require very different gameplay (I'm old enough I grew up before anyone had any computers).
Yes exactly a pack or a game that is separate like medieval that doesn’t include cell phones and computers and you have to use a home phone and you have to find a payphone
Once I got over how innapropiate WW is, it actually made the Sims 4 a lot more fun. The attraction system is cool too, because people can just not like you now sometimes. I would suggest adding it if you want that kind of content back.
Sims Twitter bothers me massively because of this! Representation is important, but this can be achieved while still recognising the negative and with a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge humour. In fact, it makes it more real. No one’s life is perfect, nor should it be (boring!)
I do agree with you about the high school one it also made it overly positive you of high school without any of the negatives which I can understand if somebody wants to play it that way. But it also kind of makes it boring. There's a mod now that actually adds clicks and some other features. I also still wish we had more of a relationship with our teachers ( and I don't mean romantic or s3xual just like gaining a certain rapport or reputation.) and that they could have added an active career. As well as classroom interactions.
I'm an older Sims player, noted, I purchased the first Sims game when it came out and had my own content out there long before Sims2 earthed. Now, while all that earlier stuff is a bit dated, I never really felt as if Maxis/EA was out of touch with it's players until Sims4, when I looked at game play trailers and went wtf is that?? Remember the big deal they made about Bro-this and that, and all that angry pooping? My thoughts was that the creators were trying just a bit too hard to connect with younger generations... This hasn't changed. They still look to be trying too hard.... Look at pronouns, seriously, in a Sims world, wtf is that? Cause Sims just don't use them, at least not in English. They could have quietly removed gender from notifications (I'm not sure if they use it or not, on thinking about it) but otherwise, Sims never cared... they will Hate, Love, Chat, Ignore, and so on, any other sims regardless of most things, there was never an issue and we could use our **** imaginations to create our own scenarios. If anything, I just wish we had more personal control over the game without constantly being prodded to play in any certain way... like with seasons and having to have my Sims constantly disappointed if they don't partake in holidays because I can't have them maybe hate those holidays and love not participating in them. To me, those are bigger issues as far as games go. Noted, I am delighted that I can have so much more control in the physical CAS than before, a prime example where less constraints are better. Who knows, maybe they will have male, female and an option that's neither, so we can be even more creative!
@@second_second_ people care if they are addressed using the wrong ones and I don't just mean those who don't use the he/him or she/her that correspond to their birth assigned sex. I'm pretty sure the kind of right wing guy who rants about people using other pronouns will be upset if someone keeps referring to them as she. In the Sims world though, it does feel like tokenism rather than anything meaningful in gameplay, as I can't think how they are actually used in game. On the other hand, going beyond a gender binary is important and does affect gameplay (e.g. whether Sims can give birth)
Totally agree with you. It has become very much a dumbed down, pick-me-girl of a game where nothing bad ever happens unless you force it. I was 11 and not speaking English when The Sims first came out, yet I could still understand it and play it for hours on end. It's honestly so disrespectful of EA towards older players to treat us like we're dimwits.
I think this last summit showed they are really trying to get the younger demo (who were those guests??). Which I get, new players and everything. But their player base for the most part seems to be older, and makes me question why they keep trying to appeal to kids. Just let it be a teen and up game, allow the spicy mods and features. We are the ones who can spend money on packs.
We said. It annoys me when I often read in comments: ' I can't afford it'. I know this is coming mainly from minors. This was clearly an adult game, which they gave ridiculously watered down. I crave to watch my favorite Sim bath in the morning. And I'm sorry if I sound pervy, I'm not. I just want Sims to stay adult based.
You'd think they'd realise this, given the franchise has been going over twenty years. Plenty of us who started out playing Sims 1 as kids or teens are still playing Sims games...
It would be nice that instead of making expansion and game packs for everyone, that they would make them for the different ages of players. It seems that the packs are all rated "T" for teens, although most Sims players are adults (and apparently there are parents out there who allow their pre-teen children to play games rated for a higher age group). Here's an idea. How about throwing an "M" rated pack in there once in a while? I miss the drama of the Sims 2 & 3. I miss playing the Sims games where actions have consequences. Take for instance cheating. In the Sims 4 there are practically no consequences for cheating, while in the Sims 2 & 3, not only did your relationship with your significant other take a hit, but your sim's relationships in the community took a hit as well. You could actually lose friendships if other people saw your sim cheating on their spouse/fiance'. You could be labeled as a "cheater" and have problems getting into another relationship because of it. The range of detecting cheating encompassed a larger range than just being in the same room. I had a sim once in the Sims 3, who fell in love with a married sim (totally their idea, not mine). But once the flirtation and attraction became a thing between those two, I had them meet in obscure places where there were no other sims (like you would in real life). Somewhere along the way, the married sim got divorced and left their spouse. I found this out only when, during an interaction, the option for becoming engaged was present. This was all behind the scenes. As I didn't play the married sim, I had no idea that all this other drama had taken place. In this day and age, I have no idea why this is not in the Sims 4. It's not like everything in the real world is perfect and no one cheats and no one gets divorced. For a game that boasts "real life" playing, it really doesn't. Considering it is the parents who buy packs for those too young to afford them on their own, if they were to buy a pack that was rated "Mature," then it is only themselves they have to blame if their precious little ones are exposed to actual real life situations. They would make a lot more money if they catered to older players and made a pack or two just for us. Us, meaning the players who actually have the money, who know how the real world works and would like to play a simulation game that deals with the bad as well as with all of the good.
I always find it ironic how, when they released Snowy Escape there was that whole shitstorm (you guessed it, on Twitter) about (a small minority of) Korean players feeling like bowing at aa shrine IN THE JAPANESE PACK was insensitive to Korean players because it represents Shinto (which in Japan is literally just normal everyday life, it's not even a religion it's just culture) or like when in the trailer you see a pattern which woke people said it was a reference to the Japanese Imperial flag (and turns out it was just a FAN, LIKE A HAND FAN) and EA RUSHED to remove that function (or rather hide it, the function is still there in the code and there is a mod to get it back) in order to appease the Koreans. What's ironic is that when the pack released, if you go and look at assets like the torii gates around town, you can CLEARLY see the Imperial crest which i would assume is far more of a symbol of Japanese oppression than something like Shinto which is normal, common everyday life in Japan. Anyway, that whole debacle soured me irreparably against the Sims fandom.
I just wanted to point out it was actually a controversial but serious matter in Korea, because of Japanese occupation of Korea that lasted 35 years and the trauma has been passed down for generations, which is actually gotten way better over time. Bowing at the shinto was one of the thing that was forced upon Koreans to brainwash them during that period. You can say get over it since it happend 70 years ago but for many Koreans, it's like get over holocaust because it happend 70 years ago. And not to mention that, there are a lot of people who get mad over "cultural apporiation". But then again, it's weird that people didn't notice the imperial crest.
@@agsheuehd completely disagree with you here. There a plenty of things that happened to Jews during the Holocaust that still happen today and nobody bats an eye. I don't see Jews telling people the can't wear Tattoos or shave their heads or beards. I don't see them complaing about marathons after the Death Marches. I don't see them telling others they can't wear badges or stars of David. They don't tell Buddhist that they can't have the swastika, and if they did, then they're wrong. Personally, I don't believe that the sins of the forefathers should be the sins of their decendants and I believe that opression is bad no matter who it is being done to. There are plenty of Japanese people who think what happened to the Koreans by the Japanese government is terrible. However, bowing at the shrine is still part of their religion and culture. By removing it, it is an insult to their religion and culture. In that case you might as well condemn the entire nation because of their past sins and not include any Japanese paraphernalia or references at all. Do you really want to live in a world like that?
@@agsheuehd i see where your coming from, but I’d have to disagree with you. My country was affected by japanese imperialism as well during world war II. My grandmother recalled times where she would have to hide in the sewers away from the japanese soldiers. comfort women were a terrible problem at the time. However, those things happened over 70 years ago. we can’t just be so sensitive on certain topics, because that only shows that us as a people haven’t moved on from what happened then. To me, it isn’t a big deal, so I don’t really understand this viewpoint.
@@agsheuehd yes i know the backstory, at the time the community couldn't shut up about it and i remain of the idea that the stretch of the imagination it takes to go from "normal mundane thing that Japanese people do" to "this is insulting and insensitive because Japan used to force Koreans to do this 70 years ago" is to my mind absurd. The outrage this sparked was so monumentally absurd and exaggerated that it still pisses me off, hence why i wrote my comment.
Haven't played the high school stuff.. Is there a high school bully? Can you play the bully? If there is no bully is it even highschool lol. Picking paths like being a gossip b*tch, having a best friend, the teacher's pet, climbing the social hierarchy even at the cost of your own integrity sounds like fun gameplay people can relate to for those who went to highschool ages ago to those who are experiencing it now to those yet to do so. The fantasy of conquering(slaying), or completely failing high school life sounds like much better game design approach for a fun experience that'd find appreciation by a wider audience than "TYPE IN PRONOUNS HERE, EVERYONE WILL RESPECT YOU NO MATTER WHAT" and going to a high school where even sharp corners have been smoothened out, so nobody gets offended.
I believe there is not a "snowflake generation" but instead there are snowflakes in every generation. Just imagine how many grown adults and elderly people I have meet ho are easily offended and with big egos...
As a 30 year old millennial who played Sims 1 as a child, Sims 2 in my middle school and part of highschool years and Sims 3 during senior and college... when playing sims 4 without mods I feel i am playing a game targeting really young people , like in their 8 to 13s, feels i am playing Tamagotchi, very easy to play, very safe , not spicy at all , yes my age group is not the target of course but they are loosing a huge costumer segment too, also thank you for speaking your mind ! Gen z Karens are wild!
I have the same impression. TS1 was the creepiest and more for adults and I was a kid xD Then Sims 2 when I was teen which was spicy enough, and now being adult TS4 seem totally for children! The Sims 2 make outs were passionate and now in Sims 4 the kisses look like in family movies.
Given how they seem to want to sell every minor feature as a new game pack or expansion pack, you would think us millennials with the greater disposable income would be a bigger target audience. The best thing about Sims 4 is the mod system, so you can just overhaul the game into something more enjoyable.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, your content is an absolute breath of fresh air. Too many sims channels are being way too afraid to say anything that might be offensive, and hearing your opinions, especially ones that are so eloquently put, is so refreshing. To me, the people who call people out for “being offensive” (like what you meant with the catfish one) really just pretend to be some savior of the downtrodden. I am 100% convinced white teenage girls are in some sort of competition to see who can become offended on the behalf of minorities more. Representation is absolutely important, but I hate that now I have to wonder if the non-white or non-straight protagonist in the video game is the developers trying to represent more communities, or just trying to get money from those communities. I could go on and on, but genuinely, thank you Satch for not being afraid to say what’s on your mind. I don’t always agree, but I will always appreciate you saying what you mean and not sugarcoating things. Much love 💚
that part about the gay pride flag is accurate. I'm queer myself and I have nothing against people who are in the community and called themselves queer. Some people see it as a slur which I get, but honestly, if someone was to call me queer as a slur, I don't really care. It reminds me of how there is an updated pansexual flag which I think is very ugly. Apparently, the original flag is problematic, which makes no sense. I'm not pansexual myself but I have read stuff from people who are and don't have a problem with the flag.
It’s because it’s said to be transphobic.I mean biphobic, which it is. The whole notion behind the new flag is that is promote biphobia. But that’s a different topic
I respect your opinion Satch, but I really don't think that the sims community being snowflakes are the reason for not having features like burglars for example... I just cannot imagine people getting mad at them if they added a burglar, they just don't care about long time players enough
Agree. It’s because they wanted to make it more family friendly. The lack of sex is not because of progressivism, it’s because of conservative parents. My dad was one of them when I was growing up so I could play violent games before I could play sims because the violent games didn’t have sex. It’s also their need to squeeze money out of their audience. The base game is okay but a few expansions are almost required for play (pets, seasons, parenthood). Then the DLC’s require DLC’s because they don’t have all the necessary items. They published an unfinished, childish game because they knew that children would persuade their parents to buy the packs. That’s literally the entire issue behind the sims 4. It’s not because they are progressive lol
Since adding the new gender update I am unable to date ANY sim I want. (I know I could use mods...) I think the sims (as you said) was already inclusive enough because I could do that. Now they just ONLY wanna be "friends"... if it ain't broke don't fix it. 🙈🙉🙊
@@karinasnooodles_ un uh. I didn't like that at all. All Sims being bisexual. No. I hated having a man flirt with my (in my head) straight male sim, and him liking it and flirting back. No, I'm not 'h*mophobic'. I just prefer the majority of my Sims to be straight. And they should be able to tell other Sims they are not interested. What I don't like about the update is, you can never flirt with them again. Once you learn of their particular interests, you can never approach them again. As if, a Sim can never have a change of heart.
@@karinasnooodles_ I've said it before and I'll say it again: having all sims be bisexual default was a an accidental "woke" statement all on its own. It didn't need to be forced or paraded around for more sales.
@@jalapeno1119 lmao since when, sims aren't bisexual by default, only in the sims 4 they are and that's because the attraction system is non existent, in other games you were either gay or straight and it depended on a gp system, nevertheless, the sims isn't like this world, they don't know what sexualities are and we need to stop acting like it, if you got a problem with it then i am sorry that's how it works🤷♂️
What grinds my gears about this whole Sims 4 community is the constant demand that EA "includes more (minority) cultures". There are so many people that ask for very specific cultures to be included, like Thai, Vietnamese, etc. But let's be honest, if you include SOME cultures, there's going to be more and more people that demand THEIR specific culture must also be included and it will ultimately bloat the game. There are MILLIONS of cultures on the planet that do not get enough representation! You cannot include everyone like this, it's simply not feasable. I wish EA would simply make up a small number of fantasy cultures/religions specifically for the Sims. They kind of did this in The Sims Medieval with the Watcher religion. If you still want YOUR specific culture to be in the Sims, there is custom content for it. And if there is not, learn how to make it yourself just like every other CC creator did!
this! and also. whats even the point of representation, if they give us all those objects like menorah, hijab etc, but there's no 'religion' option in CAS, and every person could use it regardless their beliefs like a pretty decoration. sounds kinda offensive, huh
I completely agree. Not to mention, some cultures clash and certain groups just simply despise each other so they'll always try to make something up to be offended by.
Which is why I feel Sims 1 and 2 make up cultures that is usually a melting pot of things of a certain region and call it something else. Was it cultural appropriation? Was it offensive? Was it culturally accurate? No you can claim all that because they are not trying to be anything of an actual culture.
@@trevie7589 Can confirm this. Remember the Japanese-inspired pack? Korean netizens started to harass Devs and demanded to cancel said pack because "it's offensive for them".
I actually started playing sims 2 again recently and can’t get over how FRESH it feels. A nearly 20 year old game feels more lively than the newest installment based around emotions… sad.
One very good piece of advice I got was “don’t apologise if you haven’t done anything wrong”. Now I’m not assuming you’re apologising I’m just saying it to anyone who needs to hear it. It a world where everyone gets offended for anything, just because someone claims you have offended them it doesn’t mean you actually did something wrong and should apologise. Most people are nice enough to make up their minds themselves about their behaviour and what is right or wrong.
i disagree with the nothing is really offensive thing. things are offensive to different minority groups [like andrew tate and his bs]. the thing is even though it is problematic, not everyone in the group would see the problem. so that’s why there are constantly arguments and stuff. idk if that makes sense. i agree with everything else tho.
I do find it kinda hilarious and darkly ironic the sims team continues to add more inclusive "woke" features to pander to a certain audience, whilst also being the most capitalist, money-grabbing game of all time, which is like, totally at odds with said audience.
Even more hilarious is they’ve alienated so much of their community which was extremely diverse. Simmers in the 1-3 era was massive. Now it’s like 90% white fat positive liberal cat ladies
They have made sure their is alot of diversity when it comes to sexuality and gender identity, but there is a lack of cultural diversity. I know that part of it is they are afraid of offending people or cultures, but do the research and to show cultural appreciation not just money grabbing.
Bro literally didn’t even know you romanced Men, just love you as a person and content is amazing. Literally I never see a gay dude who takes no shit and is so captivating with how self aware you are.
Man, it's such a relief to see a gay man who isn't woke. From what i understand, there's has always been a crazy side of the LGBT community that the normal LGBT doesn't want to be associated with, thing is that side is now as loud as ever
The custom pronouns update is my favourite because it literally is only in the english version of the game because it's not a thing anywhere else outside of America 😂
I'm an old lady, a grandma actually... I have been playing the sims since the first game came out and I was on bedrest pregnant with my first baby. I miss the old sims with chaos and spicy content. The sims 4 is just stale and boring. No amount of wokeness will ever make it fun, they need to bring back the chaos and spice, then it could be a fun game.
One of my most memorable moments from Sims is the alien pooing on the toilet in one of the Sims 2 games where your Sims walks into their house and this alien yells at them to get the heck out. After the alien is done, the toilet is radioactive. Sims 4 could never. It's things like that making the past games fun for everyone. The shock of what just happened. The moments of Sims walking to the middle of the pool to read books, or running across the ocean/lake to get to work. Which were great glitches lol. Not having the ability to have those moments anymore really sucks. It sucks tht past games had more of "everything" for everyone. It sucks to get my game to even have one of those OMG that just happened LOL 😂 moments you need mods. Yes, random things happen in Sims 4, but those are like getting a C instead of an A.
Im telling you the recent hairstyle drop from DeeSims was the best possible way to diversify. I know you have mentioned EA relying too much on sim influencers but I still argue for its success because it was a personal project and not a gameplay fix, and they literally worked with Dee to make very detailed, quality hairstyles that would actually enrich Sims’ looks instead of adding a ton of generic black hairstyles after seeing some high profile tweets that said there weren’t enough. And most importantly IT WAS ADDED INTO THE GAME FOR FREE
"sexuality is not something that can be turned on or off in the sims 4" they actually are making an update soon that'll nerf that ahaha. You can choose your sims' sexuality. Though many, and myself, argued that really all it's doing is adding straight people, since sims are all bisexual anyway.
To go along with words that I’m tired of hearing like “slay” is the word “stunning.” People use this word way too much and I’m tired of hearing it. There’s other adjectives that can be used to describe something beautiful rather than “stunning.”
I hate the constant loading screens and how slow the game can get with mods, but you need cc and mods to even play the game cause it's so boring otherwise.
I put a build on the Gallery with a pride flag on an outside rear wall overlooking the yard, someone commented that I made it so only an LGBTQ character can live in it and I shouldn't put those in my Gallery Uploads. I deleted that build, made the flag bigger then reposted it to the Gallery. That oughta teach that snowflake a thing or two. I actually have Princess Leia living in it alone, it's a replica of the Millennium Falcon that I call the Centennial Chickenhawk.
I love that you made this video and I agree! Although I am a Gen Z player, the sims 3 came out when I was young and a few years later, I started playing it and LOVED it. So much realism and storyline in the game. When the Sims 4 came out in 2014, I REFUSED to buy it until 3-4 years later. They need to bring back burglars, jail, and have a pack or option for more raunchy play. That’s what made the game great. Also, as a kid I did not even understand what was happening in the sims 3, it went way over my head!
If what you said was untrue and people did not want diverse gameplay with all sorts of interactions including negative ones, the modders would not be so popular
as a console player. I grew up and loved all the sims from 1 and 2 and their variations. (the urbz was my favorite before 2) played all the handhelds as well. I loved the missions they gave you and the story driven gameplay. I skipped sims 3 when it came out because it became a sandbox freeplay game and got rid of the story mission gameplay and I didn't like it. but now it's Been so long since I've played any sims games I'm fine with playing 4
the sims sounds like its always been diverse, however there is a wrong way to be diverse and a right way to be diverse. EA sadly has fallen probably for the fake kind when they were already diverse to begin with. also the sims 1 had a stripper cage?! what?! that freakin funny as hell. 😂
I agree with you. The Sims 4 is much too tame, and I hate how hard it is to kill sims, but the more I hear you talk about the differences between each Sims game, the more I feel how appropriate the Sims 4 is for this time. From the time of the Sims to the Sims 3, technology in general still wasn’t all that advanced so people still had some free will and things could get chaotic. The Sims 4 era came and the vibe it gives me is “Big Brother is watching.” Townies know your name, number, and whereabouts, they come to your door for the welcome wagon as if compelled to do so; Strangerville townies are actually possessed though they might as well all be. The Mother plant is Big Brother.
When I used to call the sims 4 a “liberal hellscape” that didn’t mean I hated diversity or progressive ideals. I simply just felt that the game’s atmosphere was as preformative; ineffectual and condescending as the American Democrat party. Simply because the game when I started playing it wanted to look like a inclusive utopia but the black people had very little variation in skin tone. Now I just call it a “Hipster Hellscape” because the game has probably been more proactive with making better changes than the party’s ever been. I really admire the Sim’s 4 dedication to adding diversity, just wish they’d keep this energy up with the actual game mechanics.
Telling stories is a lot more fun when the play is challenging, though. I could tell a story using Sims 4 if my life depended on it, but it wouldn’t be a very good or very interesting story.
I feel bad for snowflakes. The real ones that fall from the clouds I mean. Tis' a pity that such a innocent and beautiful thing shares a name with a handful of annoying people Then again, the ice-burg that sank the Titanic began life a a snowflake, and the group we now call "snowflakes" started as a few people... who are leading to the demise of fun things...
How people use Snowflake today can be traced back to Fight Club which is ironic because that entire movie holds up a mirror to toxic masculinity. I like the movie a lot but if your take away is that all men should be more like Tyler you probably also root for the Empire in Star Wars.
@@XanderHarris1023 y'know what, that does ring a bell Also don't worry too much, I don't really like the use of the term snowflake, not actually because of the reason I stated above but because I do in fact believe that when people voice concerns about silly things it does usually come from a good place: they care. Also I educated my (unfortunately tory) dad not to use "snowflake" unironically, not just because it's unpleasant but also because I fall into several categories that would probably get me branded by conservatives as one However, I also believe in finding a balance. Some people make a big deal out of representation to the point that it disrupts your appreciation of media. (I mean I've done it myself and it's not good for your mental health tbh.) Similarly to what satch said in the video where he got backlash for the one white sim being not a catfish (despite having several similar videos where this was not the case; diversity rep was spread around) I'm a writer and I have a... Slight dilemma. I have several series in the works. In one, the MC is white and the other important characters are fantastical. In another, the MC is black. But, will the first one get backlash for that? Will it be called racist? Even in I have other books that have MCs of various nationalities? (The answer is: yes, probably.) Similarly, I see people who complain if a villain is gay, because it's "not good rep". Sadly, there is the stigma of creepy gay men in the film industry, so I agree there should indeed be more "good" gay rep. However, this usually results in tokenisation, which is honestly just annoying. (This is coming from a gay person btw.) Personally, I love a good gay villain. I don't even care if they're the only gay in film or whatever, I believe what matters more is how the writers and directors treat gay characters over all. So please, don't worry. I most certainly do not go around calling people "snowflakes". I just get tired of a few rotten apples
I really miss burglars. Sure, I'd always forget to put up an alarm in every new game, and my stomach would sink when I'd hear that music start, and I'd cry 'No! don't steal the toilet! I can't afford to replace it!'. But damn, it was FUNNY. And it was interesting. And now I had to scramble to find money for a new toilet. TS4 just doesn't have that kind of randomness and joy the earlier games had.
I loved this video. It highlights a lot of the issues. I haven't bought high school years for the simple reason I don't really see any substantial game play that justify the price. Gen Z is in high-school now. I hated high school. Why would you want to go home from high school to pretend to go to high school lmao.
I recently bought it (not from EA & def not full price) just for the CAS and buy mode items. I could care less about the actual go to high school part lmao
I also want more of the the older features back, but y’all crying about ‘black washing’ ‘wokeness’ ‘pandering’ ‘pronouns’ and ‘snowflakes’ is hilarious because a in a life simulation game the bare minimum is to let everyone accurately create themselves. Appealing to that isn’t ‘woke’ and if your real issue is with the gameplay being boring and overly positive just say that without wasting time calling ppl snowflakes. It’s like a never ending cycle of ppl getting offended at eachother over a simple video game..
It's sad that they're blaming the existence of non-white, non-straight people for the decline of the Sims franchise, while the problem is that people that used to work on Sims before aren't working on them anymore. EA and Maxis didn't implemented basic stuff that we had in earlier games and demanded us to pay for it, buy hey, it's the fault of snowflakes, not the fault of a money hungry company that is well-known for damaging the reputation of its franchises! You also need to pay to get inclusivity, which is really not that inclusive. Also, this dude uses "snowflake" as an insult in 2022? Lmao.
Fr acting like pronouns or better skin tone options are what's wrong with the sims 4, ffs. Especially when there's a million real problems with the game. Acting like implementing diversity is somehow stopping EA from improving gameplay is just a new way to make excuses for their laziness.
the sims 1 is my favorite sims game (purely bc of nostalgia to be fair lmao) and when I was little I thought it was AMAZING that you could have sims date whoever regardless of gender. it was so controversial at the time too. it really felt like they were pushing boundaries, but more recently it's felt like corporate pandering 😅 I also hate that leftists end up focusing our energy on what might be offensive in virtual platforms like video games versus what's actually hindering social reform/change. it's why people(conservatives mostly) say the left is eating itself - we spend way too much energy on stuff that objectively won't solve anything, fighting each other while doing it
EA didn't include burglars in the Sims 4 because people might realize that they are being stolen from every time they buy a pack EA pushed out without fixing the bugs :D I found your breakdown of the trailers really interesting because I thought it was just me. I haven't been playing the Sims 4 in several years now but when the trailer dropped for Discover University I really felt my age - not because I'm old specifically, but because it dawned on me I was on longer the target audience. When the Sims 2 trailer came out I nearly lost my mind - even though it had to be blurred in your video I still can see it like it was yesterday I was in high school when the Sims 1 came out and I miss the silliness, the playfulness, the cake dancers! Sims 4 could never. As always, love your content x
I agree with you 100%. Your take is really down to earth. It's an unfortunate situation, EA is putting maximum $$$ over fun or funny gameplay. They're afraid backlash could ruin the game, even though hilarious or inappropriate content could actually make the games much more fun and successful. I don't have much hope for the original sense of humor to come back in Sims 5. I wish, but it's just not likely. I don't know if the cooperative or multiplayer gameplay can make up for it, or if it will complete the trend of the Sims games really only being fun for building.
I do love CAS in TS4. I love that you can do certain little things like given women leg hair. I like that. It’s very inclusive, and you can make your sims as diverse as you want.
I realize this is missing the point of the video and people might come at me for that but it needs to be said. The Sims 4 doesn’t represent every protected minority. The closest thing they have to representation for disabilities is glasses. At least in the US, disabled people are the largest minority group. I’d wager it’s the same or similar in most countries. Being disabled is also one of the few, maybe only, minorities that people can become without having a choice in matter. People may realize they aren’t straight or cis later in life but they always were. People can’t randomly become black or Asian or any other race. They may convert to a minority religion but that’s a choice. Everyone is always one bad day from becoming disabled. Yet there are no disabilities in the sims. Sims 3 generations added canes for elders but some young people need canes too. To my knowledge, canes don’t exist at all in the sims 4. I’ll admit adding some disabilities may have technical challenges, but there’s still a lot of ways to. Add hearing aids, cochlear implants, and diabetes patches and pumps to CAS. Bring back canes for everyone and add crutches too. If they can find a way to add ramps, they could add wheelchairs. They can add traits for neurodiversity and mental illness, though that’d be better as a separate feature rather than taking up trait slots. They could use the tattoos feature to turn limbs into prosthetics at least in appearance, even if the functionality isn’t there. They’ve definitely done a lot with diversity and represented a lot of groups but they’re still missing the biggest one (population wise).
It’s a life sim game and inclusivity should be an obvious aspect. But EA doesn’t understand this and they design/market everything around adding more diversity instead of adding better gameplay. The high school pack doesn’t work because like 3 students show up and half the time they stand there trying to figure out where to go. It feels so incomplete. But EA doesn’t care because they added the words slay and bestie and that’s all that matters now. Other EPs have similar issues. What is the point of a wedding pack if my sims can’t even have a wedding that works?! I had sims die at a wedding from hot weather because they wouldn’t go inside the venue even though it had doors lmao. But EA would rather cater to twitter snowflakes than make the sims packs playable.
As an OG Simmer I find the sanitization, dumbing down, whitewashing etc. maybe the most irritating thing about the series. What should've aged with us has done the opposite. But especially as a gay man I wouldn't use rightwing language like snowflake or "wokeification" to describe it (this framing is quickly turned against us) and I don't think annoying people on Twitter are the cause of it. I don't think "wokeness" is what made the High School pack suck for example. Packs have been getting worse for years. And they've been moving toward family-friendly since Sims 2, before social media or "cancel culture" or any of those were things. I'd focus more on the capitalism ruining the series myself, still love your content ❤
Did you not watch the part of the video when he talks about the woke criticism and "education" he gets in the comments? Timestamp about 4.30. Because that's what you are doing. Let the man use his own words, you don't need to police anything. He probably is not to the right but some gay men are, and that's okay. Diversity of opinion thankfully comes in every race and sexuality and that is a good thing. He also made many, many videos about how cash grabby EA are and can't talk about that all the time.
@@aaasss-ns8my The fact that bad faith attacks are often wrapped up in education or accountability does not make the latter bad things, and I tried to approach it as good faith and not preachy as possible. Sorry if I caused any...offense 😉 I'm just old and I've seen this story before, and I think the criticism's misplaced and serves the right. And I do hold the controversial groupthink that gay people should work toward our liberation, or at least not against it.
I had a sim try to climb through the teen sneak out window when I ignored him after he knocked at the door. The sim is a clepto. Maybe they did bring burglers back?
as for the "Sims has always been woke" argument, Sims has always been liberal but it wasn't ever woke, it was a life sim where you could do what you wanted with your own characters, woke would be the snowflake generation as you say, you can see it in the marketing, they want the appeal to the people who actually give a shit about black-white trans lesbian relationships and not to people who just... want to play the game, I mean for such a wacky game you think they would realize that being both wacky and only showing fat ugly lesbians would be... somewhat negative? I love sims 3 because it was perfect, I don't mind "woke" shows if they can be done right, like Doom Patrol, it has a character with DID, something modern tiktokers love to fake, but its an actual extreme of that and makes it her character in a good way, they made a superhero gay, but that aids his story, they have a whole ass they/them character, but its a goddamn town, bricks don't got gender. Tl;dr, there's woke, liberal, and progressive, and most old properties fall into the latter two. Edit: For the saints row reboot thing, the OG game was diverse, the main cast was an asian, hispanic, black, and white guy for the first game, than the second was a black guy, a hispanic(?) woman, and another black guy with tons of diverse gang members, however the diversity was simply the fact it was a city, and the gang members, where gang members. Look at the new saints row cast, you got just the most "Hello fellow kids" crew out there, they look woke as well, woke people have a very obnoxious and bright style, they also have a really weird fascination with making spanish characters speak both spanish and english interchangeably which is annoying but once more. tl;dr saints was liberal, not woke.
I find it funny that my generation is called snowflakes. Gen Z and I’m a trans man, everyone I know in my generation is pretty chill about things. It’s more people who are in the generation above me that I’ve seen do these crazy woke things. I love being able to have non binary sims but understand that not everyone will, I don’t like the sexuality system. My generations loved saints row 4, GTA5, call of duty and we also are much more openly sexual, kinky and no interested in marriage. I want diversity but I also enjoy what was in the Sims before 4 cause it was fun.
Even if the sims did add more culture I feel simmers still wouldn’t be satisfied. I can already imagine some would say it’s still not enough or the sims didn’t get something correct and it offended them
@@bluesky2925 Right it’s not a Gen Z or Millennial thing. Isn’t he technically part of Gen Z? Regardless, it’s a simmer’s issue. They think they’re entitled to a lot of stuff which many games wouldn’t even allow them to do. The whole paywall thing beyond mods is beyond the minds of a modders for Skyrim or GTA.
It's not just an EA problem but the entire entertainment industry. Unfortunately the Snowflake are the ones that "scream the loudest" and therefore the industry believes that it is a reflection of what the majority wants. TS4 had a bad conception due to the failure of Simcity, EA could have delayed the release date but preferred to sell it even though it was incomplete, then they tried to make people happy through free updates but this was not enough due to the low quality of the packs they made . So they started riding the Snowflakes wave, however this was just a simple front as bugs continued to grow in the game.
A lot of these people are incredibly insecure. They seek validation outside of themselves because they have little to no self esteem and confidence. And when people don't validate them, they get really angry. I think most of Gen Z should be in therapy or at least learn some basic coping skills for managing their emotions and behavior
as a gen z african guy I can say that majority of gen z isn't really mentally ill and is faking it for internet validation. we don't need therapy, we need less time online.
@@adenomohokoyomoh4350 you are probably right + the internet itself contributes to bad mental health but lying about being mentally ill is a pretty telling red flag about actually being mentally ill. We could all do with way less screen time as a society tho
I’m gen Z too, I don’t even think most people are faking it but I do think there’s a lot of videos going around about how if you do certain things (which are often pretty normal) it could be a sign you have a certain condition. And they’re not necessarily wrong, but it’s just that it could be a sign of a whole lot of other things too and you have to really consider what’s driving certain behaviours, how often they’re happening and how much they’re affecting someone’s quality of life before you label it as a mental health condition. And people just don’t have the life experience to realise. I could talk all day about how this has happened with trauma! You can be affected by something bad in your past but not be traumatised
I think it has to do with a lot of Gen X saying their first born children (Millennials) were "corrupted" by those games and they don't want their youngest (Gen Z) to go down the same path. At least that's what my mom tells me, that I corrupt her kids and they can't think for themselves. 🙄 Well she doesn't say it about video games cuz they all play whatever they want, but certain parents have that "my precious baby" mind set that is so fked up. I miss when games were like, "🤷🏾♀ I don't give a fk, this is how we made it and those who enjoy it, will." There was always some censorship in all mainstream games but it was so miniscule.
Satch, after watching your content I've realised you would love the game Sims 2 on PSP. I don't know how you are gonna play it, but I would love a series, and I think you would love the story and the gameplay in that game. It is similar to the old style of Sims
I used to get scared when burglars showed up, I was 10 yo. I loved being scared of it! In real life it’s really scary, so what? I want a LIFE simulation… in the sims 4 everything is good life - good grades, good job, good marriage (even when one of the spouses cheats!!!) and the best children. Boringgggg!! I want the spicy things
i understand not wanting to give players anxiety with the burglars, but why couldn't they have just made this optional? it could be a setting in the gameplay menu, where you can turn "burglars" on and off. or they could've changed the music to make it less terrifying (tbh i think that most people are terrified by the sims 1 music bc that tune was genuinely terrifying). in my opinion, the sims 4 isn't made for the snowflake generation, it's made for pure capitalism. instead of reinventing the burglars in a new way, they take them out of the game bc its easier. instead of giving players adult content, they completely sanitise it because that makes it consumable for all ages. and instead of actually making the cas diverse in terms of hairstyles (there aren't a lot of good curly hair options) and clothing (men get nothing), they just make a very bland selection and call it a day.
Our beloved Sims game went from being a "Monty Python-Benny Hill" slapstick comedy (Sims 2).... to being a "Friends" dramedy sitcom (Sims 3).... to being a reality tv "Kardashians" pseudo-wokefest. As a Gen-Xer who's fed up with all this hyperbolic drama and the resulting watered down Sims 4 game, I am soooooo ready to wash my hands of it all and dive into something more sane inducing... like Paralives and Life By You. The release dates for those two new life simulators can't come soon enough, as far as I'm concerned. Bye bye EA, thanks for curing me of my 20+ years long addiction.
Also burglars are not in the game because EA that don't want to make an appearance in the game. EA would rather not have their character be visual.
haha
😭
Ooop 🙊
But they added vampires that would break into the house during the night, which is more traumatizing. 😂 But they removed it after getting too much complaints.
biggest oof XD
They wont allow burglars in the game anymore because its “too traumatic” yet they let Vladimir break in and bite your neck at 3 am
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂
When it was said they didn’t include robbers because they wanted to be inclusive to people with anxiety I laughed
Bro everything makes me anxious robbers weren’t worse
Wait, seriously?
The least they could do is include an on/off switch.
I have pretty debilitating GAD and video games do literally zilch to contribute to it. It's pixels.
I too have GAD and I love the burglars.
As someone with diagnosed anxiety disorder. I want robbers lmao! They can add a setting to turn them off
@@MJ-98 Jesus I have panic disorder but it’s about real life!! Not simlish burglars 😭😭💀 I still play gta and cyberpunk somehow I’m still fine
One thing I always notice whenever I play the Sims 2 again is just how much naturally spicier romance options and kisses there are, they just have a lot more feeling behind it without being too much or anything, or how heavy the reactions would be to certain things like adultery, that just adds a bunch more spice and intensity with there even being kids' reactions, and I have a feeling that the whole "playing safe" is exactly why everything is muted and toned down, like the saturation has just been turned wayyyyy down on literally every more dramatic fun or risky aspect, which leaves it with barely any life
when i went back to playing the Sims 3 i was suprised how spicy the make out on couch/bed animations are compared to the Sims 4... it just looks a lot less goofy and cartoonish
and that’s why we have the wonderful wicked whims ☺️
@@blueghost4769 in ts4 they barely touch each other bruhh

I once downloaded that dramatic sting music for the sims 1 burglar and set it as my partners text message alert sound.
They never recovered.

The best anxiety moment 😂
As a gen z - you can have diversity AND gameplay. I grew up playing sims 3 and LOVED having things happened to my sims. Now i have to make drama myself if i want it and things don't really have consequences. It's not really fun. Bb is a whole another level, sure, but it barely has a personality.
The only drama are my sims literally dying from laugher
That's the big problem with TS4, there are no consequences, it's like a lollipop world.
XDDDD

My theory for a long time has been that Sims 4 caters to a player base that includes young children, that parents allow their kids, 4-10 years old or so, to play the game, and EA chooses to dumb it down and make it more innocent so it's more family-friendly. As you rightly said, it's about the money, and if parents are buying packs and kits for their kids, EA will go where the money is. I'd be fine with that, if they'd give us hard-mode or grown-up mode or something. It's just too beige to play right now, and I have no expectation of anything better for the next one.
The dumbest thing is that it’s actually more for 13 year olds and older because the younger ones can just play dolls and dont have to read anything.
Kids these days grow up with smartphones and computers, it would make sense.
@Booper Dooper yeah but its mostly storytelling and reading when its not build mode. Theres a difference between that and minecraft, shooters or mario
yeah, i won't want my child to play a life simulation that's too mature for kids. i didnt care when i didnt have any child, but when we become parents, we care..
This is why we mod everything because EA won't give us what we want. Bless the mod community
They should make an 80s kids pack. As a GEN X player we get completely ignored and I actually have money to spend cause I’m old lol
YES !!! we are the generation that were late teens / young adults when we were playing sims 1 !!! we're the OG players 🤣
Ooooo, I'd buy that!
I forgot how raunchy sims 1 was , man I wish we still had the cages and that vibrating beds 🙃
FACTS!
Which mod
@@karinasnooodles_ it's called the dynamic teen mod I believe. By adeepindigo.
Who knows, maybe they will have male, female and an option that's neither, so we can be even more creative!
seriously, why people care so much about pronouns.. there's much more important thing to do..
Because adults are reasonable and don't buy crappy dlcs. While parents would buy literally anything for their little angels
You'd think they'd realise this, given the franchise has been going over twenty years. Plenty of us who started out playing Sims 1 as kids or teens are still playing Sims games...
Lmao, just looks at their official Twitter. "I know our game sucks but here's some gay stuff, give us your money for a barely working game"

The outrage this sparked was so monumentally absurd and exaggerated that it still pisses me off, hence why i wrote my comment.
i love how you deal with things and how you look at the bigger picture instead of letting people put you down 🍀🌷
I think the problem is social media. People can't also accept criticism because there is so much criticism and everyone can critique easily.
We did not even get dog houses or pet stores because of "omg animal cruelty" in a VIRTUAL GAME which just pisses me off.
This literally sounds amazing!!! 🤩
I believe there is not a "snowflake generation" but instead there are snowflakes in every generation. Just imagine how many grown adults and elderly people I have meet ho are easily offended and with big egos...
Yes, every generation had a Karen or Kevin or snowflakes. Millennials had moms that tried to cancel GTA. It's not anything new
Yes, this! Snowflakes aren't limited to one generation or political group
After I recently downloaded hsy the game wouldnt start with my mods. Playing without my mods was a humungous downgrade and it felt so weird and bare.
As a fellow gay Satch says everything that needs to be said💀
Everything is about a stupid agenda
He literally acknowledged in that part of the video that the problem was with EA and not the players.
@Kailo yes indeed, it totally ruined me trying to do the serial romance aspiration too 🤣🤣
So true they should've left all sims bisexual by default, now you have to tweak all sims to have that orientation
@@shab_nak supporting mod creators to meet this demand would solve this issue
Yes it was 100%. That’s why it gets so boring, and I don’t care enough to add all these mods. Sims 2 and 3 is where it’s at.
Agree, and it will never be enough for the twitter mob. No matter how much you apologize.
@@maureenravetti6192 No and I’ve learned that one the hard way. Give an inch and they’ll take a mile. It’s better not to reply at all.
i disagree with the nothing is really offensive thing. things are offensive to different minority groups [like andrew tate and his bs]. the thing is even though it is problematic, not everyone in the group would see the problem. so that’s why there are constantly arguments and stuff. idk if that makes sense.
i agree with everything else tho.
Satch makes a lot of videos surrounded by opinions. Which is a brave thing to do on the Internet

The custom pronouns update is my favourite because it literally is only in the english version of the game because it's not a thing anywhere else outside of America 😂
America is not the only English speaking country. The clue is in the name of the language...

I saw a video of someone complaining the sims summit didn't have enough diversity. I was confused
They only took the most popular ones and also those who kiss their asses
Your analysis was good enough to motivate me sufficiently to go onto my other browser without adblock to comment. Good video.
Satch, I love you and your content because you are so similar to me, it's really refreshing. You are the best Sims content creator IMHO. ❤
You’re so normal and grounded, I love you
"sexuality is not something that can be turned on or off in the sims 4"
they actually are making an update soon that'll nerf that ahaha. You can choose your sims' sexuality. Though many, and myself, argued that really all it's doing is adding straight people, since sims are all bisexual anyway.
It adds ace people! And that update has already been out
I actually miss the scary music when ghost appear from the tomb. This happens only when you have Spell GP.
To go along with words that I’m tired of hearing like “slay” is the word “stunning.” People use this word way too much and I’m tired of hearing it. There’s other adjectives that can be used to describe something beautiful rather than “stunning.”
That's not what slay means but it's okay. It's an overused word regardless.
@@alexwilliams2276 I didn’t mean that slay means stunning. I’m saying just like the word slay, stunning is a word I’m tired of hearing
Well that and the Sims is viewed as a kid's game despite the fact that it does have a teen rating.
If burglar were for making money opportunity they should have place them in get to work or city living tbh
Side note: Volition, the developers of Saints Row, shut down because of the backlash they got after the Saints Row reboot released
You’re a breath of fresh air in this stale and “playing it safe” content sphere.
the sims sounds like its always been diverse, however there is a wrong way to be diverse and a right way to be diverse.
This game was made for people who like to tell stories and have a casual playthrough, hence why it's almost not challenging at all
Telling stories is a lot more fun when the play is challenging, though. I could tell a story using Sims 4 if my life depended on it, but it wouldn’t be a very good or very interesting story.
I like telling story! But how can there be any interesting story without drama?
I feel bad for snowflakes. The real ones that fall from the clouds I mean. Tis' a pity that such a innocent and beautiful thing shares a name with a handful of annoying people
Then again, the ice-burg that sank the Titanic began life a a snowflake, and the group we now call "snowflakes" started as a few people... who are leading to the demise of fun things...
How people use Snowflake today can be traced back to Fight Club which is ironic because that entire movie holds up a mirror to toxic masculinity. I like the movie a lot but if your take away is that all men should be more like Tyler you probably also root for the Empire in Star Wars.
@@XanderHarris1023 y'know what, that does ring a bell
Also don't worry too much, I don't really like the use of the term snowflake, not actually because of the reason I stated above but because I do in fact believe that when people voice concerns about silly things it does usually come from a good place: they care. Also I educated my (unfortunately tory) dad not to use "snowflake" unironically, not just because it's unpleasant but also because I fall into several categories that would probably get me branded by conservatives as one
However, I also believe in finding a balance. (The answer is: yes, probably.)
Similarly, I see people who complain if a villain is gay, because it's "not good rep".
"Snowflake" also used to be a term for racist people since they wanted everything to be white like snow.
This is why I like your content

Acting like implementing diversity is somehow stopping EA from improving gameplay is just a new way to make excuses for their laziness.
the sims 1 is my favorite sims game (purely bc of nostalgia to be fair lmao) and when I was little I thought it was AMAZING that you could have sims date whoever regardless of gender. it was so controversial at the time too. it really felt like they were pushing boundaries, but more recently it's felt like corporate pandering 😅 I also hate that leftists end up focusing our energy on what might be offensive in virtual platforms like video games versus what's actually hindering social reform/change. it's why people(conservatives mostly) say the left is eating itself - we spend way too much energy on stuff that objectively won't solve anything, fighting each other while doing it
Ngl, I like the backhanded pop-ups you would get sometimes. They are very funny imo 😭
EA didn't include burglars in the Sims 4 because people might realize that they are being stolen from every time they buy a pack EA pushed out without fixing the bugs :D
I found your breakdown of the trailers really interesting because I thought it was just me. I haven't been playing the Sims 4 in several years now but when the trailer dropped for Discover University I really felt my age - not because I'm old specifically, but because it dawned on me I was on longer the target audience. When the Sims 2 trailer came out I nearly lost my mind - even though it had to be blurred in your video I still can see it like it was yesterday
I was in high school when the Sims 1 came out and I miss the silliness, the playfulness, the cake dancers!
I don't know if the cooperative or multiplayer gameplay can make up for it, or if it will complete the trend of the Sims games really only being fun for building.
the burglar was my favorite character of the sims!
Once again I just agree with you. Thanks for having your own opinions and sticking by them.
You are 100% correct and most of the ppl in this comment section would call you a ‘virtue-signaling snowflake ruining the game’ for saying this
Thank you! TS4 doesn't represent every marginalized group, just the ones Satch0nSims deems worthy. 🙄
there was a patch update recently that added hearing aids and diabetes patches
That's completely fine, and I respect that that is your opinion about the matter, while I don't agree, I wish you a good weekend, cheers! :)

as for the "Sims has always been woke" argument, Sims has always been liberal but it wasn't ever woke, it was a life sim where you could do what you wanted with your own characters, woke would be the snowflake generation as you say, you can see it in the marketing, they want the appeal to the people who actually give a shit about black-white trans lesbian relationships and not to people who just... want to play the game, I mean for such a wacky game you think they would realize that being both wacky and only showing fat ugly lesbians would be... somewhat negative?
Youre so bloody real. Being woke is almost like EAs priority rather than make actual fun gameplay.

Right it’s not a Gen Z or Millennial thing.
Honestly the snowflakes thing is so tired
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING A VIDEO ABOUT THIS TOPIC!
@@adenomohokoyomoh4350 Or maybe too much time online is what's causing their decline in mental health.
@@jalapeno1119 yep cause and effect. Maybe being surrounded by depression has made so many of us actually depressed.
I love that you speak up about these topics.
I'm offended ea won't offend people with good content. 😂
You just became my favorite sims RUclipsr ! You keep it real keep being your self
Sadly it has always been about getting the lgbt+ communities money when they "celebrate" pride month. They don't give two shits about the community 😂
That sims trailer was my LIFE I loved the song 🤣
I was thru when they removed savage from werewolves lol
