We spent a couple of days on South Padre a couple of years ago, before I had to come home to care for my abandoned grandkids. Thanks for the wonderful trip down memory lane.
Your having sand sculptures, here in Michigan we are having snow sculptures right now. I prefer the warmer weather but not my husband. The places looked so pretty and you photograph it so wonderfully. Surprised someone doesn't hire you to photograph their business or town, you do such a great job. Keep having fun while you can. 😊
Unexpected pleasures. Yep, thats the way my husband and I roadtrip in our small travel trailer. We hit the road anywhere from 1-6 weeks with zero reservations or real plans. So far its working out just fine. We live in the western states.
Those were beautiful scenes of the ocean and wildlife. Having an All wheeled drive vehicle is nice because it increases travel options. That pie looked yummy!
We subscribed to your channel over a year ago and love how consistent your are with your weekly video schedule! Last week, we decided to binge watch your videos from the beginning. We’re now on Season 3. We love it!Thanks for the great videos! We retire this summer and plan to travel the U.S. in our RV! Thanks for sharing your adventures and tips!
I literally say Saturday yay when I hear your when I hear your channel go on it’s a little late today but I had a lot of zoom meetings! Keep going you guys you’re doing fine
The minute I hear “on the road… I put my right hand up my fist in the air and say Saturday!!!!! That’s because I’m working and I see your channel between you working and getting contracts out you don’t know what I do and it’s a relief to see your channel
The all wheel drive option is not just a bit more money; it’s $10,000 more than the rwd version. Scheduled chassis services are more expensive as well. By the way, that “sunbathing alligator”is actually an American Crocodile, only found in the southern most reaches of Florida and Texas. You can tell the difference by the snout. The alligator’s snout is more rounded; the crocodile has a more pointed snout. South Padre Island is beautiful. Adding it to our bucket list!
Yes, about $10,000 more but also holds value better and the benefits have outweighed the negatives so far in our opinion. Maybe call that place and let them know that they are misrepresenting the crocodile as an alligator. Wow, you’d think they would know. 🤷♀️ 🤷♂️
Long ago I was driving on Daytona beach on motorcycle weekend in a two wheeled truck and got stuck in the sand. Along came the Hells angles riding along the beach. They stopped to help, and lifted the whole truck out, and refused to accept any money for there help.
Driving on the beach is always an adventure. Michelle looked a bit nervous on the sand! We told you it was usually windy in the RGV, but this year has been really absolutely not normal. Hope you had a good time here meeting some new friends and learning lots of games. We miss you already! Safe travels.🤓😎🥸
She calmed pretty quickly once she could tell where to stay with the van. 😊 We thought the wind was much better this year than the last time we were here. At least we had a few really nice days this time without the wind. It was so nice seeing you all and meeting new friends. We miss you all! 🧡😊🤓
Made me homesick - we lived there for 20 years, before moving to the Arizona desert last year. That drive across the Laguna Madre on the causeway is always a treat. Best beach in Texas. A Class B is a great day-tripping machine when you live there - nice to have an easy way to wash the sand off your feet and a comfortable place to have lunch. Speaking of sea turtles: take in the facility at Sea Turtle Inc., near the South Padre Island Convention Center. And check out the Wyland Whaling Wall at the Convention Center. And the boardwalk. Driving on the beach can be an issue, but the 4WD on your new conveyance sure helps! And windy? Yeah, there's a reason SPI is one of the 10 most popular wind surfing areas in the country Thanks for that bit of home for this displace island boy!
So sorry it made you homesick. 😢 We went to Sea Turtle Inc 4 years ago and have a short part in one of our videos back then. Ironically, we just went there last weekend and was fortunate to watch the release of the rescued sea turtles from the cold. (video scheduled to be out in about 3 weeks).
@@LivinRVision No worries - we enjoyed our time living in the Tropical Tip. Our house was on a canal, so we could keep a boat right out our back door. It was the climate, the people, the water (the Laguna Madre and the Gulf of Mexico), and that great beach that drew us to the area... and we have fond memories. Our daughter had been lobbying for years to get us to move by her in Arizona, and the time was right a year or so ago. We are learning to appreciate the desert climate and life in "the big city" (Phoenix); after living in the laid back SPI/PI, this has been an interesting change. We traded our motorhome for a Class B about 4 months ago and look forward to exploring the western states once again. Thanks for the videos you post. Our situation is different, since we retired years ago, but when we started the search for a Class B, we discovered your channel. It has been fun seeing you travel through places we have enjoyed in 35+ years of RVing. (Captain Jim and the Blonde)
It’s not, we went straight to the car wash once we left the beach, we just didn’t film it. Once we got out on the sand and could clearly see where the sand was packed hard, I felt much better. 🤓
Great video! How was the convenient store coffee? We’re always interested in you scoring the food, etc. We also noticed it was a very close call between squeezing that lemon or running the red light (1:28). As usual, thanks for an outstanding video and we Thank You! Safe travels friends.
Oh I wanted to tell you we are in Gainesville FL and guy in a Class A walked by and complimented our van and said do you ever watch Brian and Michelle?? ❤. I said sure do, every Saturday evening for over 2 years now, they are why we own a Grech and not an Airstream!! 🥳
It's Beautiful there and we got to hangout at Louis backyard! We bought fresh shrimp off the boat's. .A pound each was too much, leftovers were better! Great video!
Ah…. My old stompin’ grounds! Just moved from the Rio Grand Valley to eastern Tennessee! No more Gulf waters for me. “Burnin’ daylight” is my hubs favorite saying!!! 😂 Great video as usual! The restaurant that was there before Nautico was absolutely phenomenal! Capt Roy’s I believe was the name
Daytona beach in Florida, is, or at least was, drivable when I grew up there in the '60's. It was a normal thing for us. Every once in a while somebody laying out next to their car got run over but it didn't happen too often.
As an original fan of your videos, they are still great! The Texas beach in the winter is on a bird Flyway. The perfect time to birdwatch. Caution: near the Ocean, the blowing salt will corrode anything. The rotors, discs and brake pads are especially susceptible to rust quickly. Thoroughly wash your vehicle and undercarriage as soon as possibly. Personally, I would follow with another thorough wash in a week. Happy Trails.
As a ten year old I was stung by a man-o-war near Pompano Beach Florida. I do remember how painful it was. The locals told my parents to clean the sting areas with rubbing alcohol. OUCH!
We eat in the van every day of the week for lunch and dinner 2-3 times a week. We are exhausted in the evening after work and rarely feel like filming. We do eat out quite a bit though, especially if we are traveling in the evenings.
You once mentioned what you guys used for bedding, for your van bed, could you tell me what you use, or let me know the name/number of the video? Thank you...
I love the "Look" from Michelle at 3:25. "The tide is rising" 😅 Great video!
Thanks for taking us along on your "unplanned" day. Continued safe travels !!!
Loved the message you said at the end Brian! I will keep that thought with me! Blessings and safe travels🥰
Michelle,a bundle of joy today…..
❤

What a lovely presentation. Have enjoyed you both so much over the years ! Thank you!❤
🧡
Michelle looked a little nervous about the beach drive. 😬😳Padre island looks really nice. I loved the sand sculptures!! Safe travels!!
You're so lucky to have someone even willing to drive to give you a break !
Once again just a fantastic video !
Unexpected pleasures. Yep, thats the way my husband and I roadtrip in our small travel trailer. We hit the road anywhere from 1-6 weeks with zero reservations or real plans. So far its working out just fine. We live in the western states.
Many times that works out best. Love pleasant surprises and being spontaneous.
Those were beautiful scenes of the ocean and wildlife. Having an All wheeled drive vehicle is nice because it increases travel options. That pie looked yummy!
Wonderful South Padre Island tour! From the sandy beach drive to the sand sculptures, all amazing. Thanks Brian and Michelle for the guided tour.

On our list of places to go. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Dont forget to let us know if you get to NH.

Love driving on the beach, just have some tools if you get stuck. Straps, shovel, etc. Totally enjoyed thanks
Tow rope or your favorite tow truck guy!😮
I’m with you Michelle; you have good reason to be nervous about taking a vehicle out on the beach. The salt is not good for vehicles either.
It’s not, we went straight to the car wash once we left the beach, we just didn’t film it. Once we got out on the sand and could clearly see where the sand was packed hard, I felt much better. 🤓

Convenience store coffee seems to never be that great, but has “rescued” Michelle many times. 😂
That light was very pink. 🤪

It's Beautiful there and we got to hangout at Louis backyard! We bought fresh shrimp off the boat's. .A pound each was too much, leftovers were better! Great video!
I told my wife in honor of Michelle. We were to have a piece of peanut butter pie with supper
🧡🤓
Did you eat at Bob Evans by any chance? We ate there tonight and they had peanut butter pie they were advertising. Small world.😊
What a nice and relaxed trip. Crazy about the Alligators not liking the Rocket launches~ CYNW!

Didn’t like the area?
I think your hubs and I would get along really well! 😂
Loved the area but tired of only one season…summer!!!😂
@pamking5953 😂
The Gretch looks amazing beside the ocean like that. Let's go off roading.. 😅
🚐💨 😃🤓

You’re absolutely right, we had that happen quickly with our Airstream about 4 years ago after staying on Magnolia Beach.
CRAZY DREAMER STILL DOING IT UR WAY.. BIG TIME - RE - SPECT.....U BOTH STILL GET ALONG ... THATS REAL TRUE 😍 😍
awesome thanks
❤❤❤❤❤
So many areas like this have no car washes that also have an under carrriage wash.
As a ten year old I was stung by a man-o-war near Pompano Beach Florida. I do remember how painful it was. The locals told my parents to clean the sting areas with rubbing alcohol. OUCH!
😮
Three most exciting days,
Buy your Boat
Sell your Boat
Drive on asphalt road from sandy beach in your RV. 👍. Priceless 🤷
❤❤
Was just wondering, with a nice van like that, do you guys ever cook inside the van?
We eat in the van every day of the week for lunch and dinner 2-3 times a week. We are exhausted in the evening after work and rarely feel like filming. We do eat out quite a bit though, especially if we are traveling in the evenings.
Drive 7 Miles further North to the Nude Beach. There is an interesting marker for it:-)
😳😀
You once mentioned what you guys used for bedding, for your van bed, could you tell me what you use, or let me know the name/number of the video? Thank you...
The company discontinued making that and the only thing that can be found is kid sizes.
Duvalay “Disc-o-bed”
❤👍
Watch out for the rattle snakes in the dunes. It still might be to early but your further south. Just say!
I have to know what is there in Texas for the long long snow last month this is February 2025
Thankfully it didn’t make it down where we’ve been.
