We have an important update to the story about the Ghost Boy of Ferguson Cemetery, near Minneapolis. • THE GHOST BOY OF FERGU...
Looks like there may have been a misidentification on the identity of the mystery boy.
Leesa Morrow, one of our viewers, contacted me on Instagram. Here is what she wrote:
His name is actually Friedrich W. H. Ehlers. www.findagrave....
The stone was photographed by "BJ", who received the information from Debbie Boe Norwood.
Ms. Norwood originally surveyed Ferguson Cemetery in the early 1990s. She wrote a book about the Cemetery then, which is out of print now.
Frederick (b. 1883 - d. 1894) died at the age of 7 months. I don't know how this plays out with the urban legend of him haunting the Cemetery, since it seems he would be a little young for that.
I did read Mattie's Oct. 2022 pinned note in the comments. No disrespect intended to her, but I did want to clarify the information given. While the family she's referring to did lose two children in succession, they are buried as a family unit in the middle of this cemetery. It would have been odd that this child was interred in the corner by himself.
That being said, a couple of us have worked diligently to identify this child. Many thanks to Ms. Norwood for leading the way. It is sad enough that he is forgotten in the corner. I just wanted his name corrected.

James W. Berry
1877-1879
Son of John and Elizabeth Berry, earliest pioneers of the region.
The Berrys tragically lost four young children who are all buried in this cemetery which was originally called the County Line Cemetery.
All of their children have a headstone photographed on "Find a Grave" except for James.
Of course, I don't know if little James is the "ghost boy" but I believe there is strong evidence to suggest that the unidentifiable headstone belongs to him.
James was their second child to die. Their first child to die was Sarah Berry who has a headstone exactly like the unidentified headstone in your video.
Sarah (1875-1879), three years old, died in February, 1879 and little John (13 months old) died a few weeks later in March 1879.
Their other two children who died, have identifiable headstones. Tragically, they died two days apart from diptheria. Please see attached obituary. :
Huldy Berry (Dec. 1879 - Nov. 12, 1891) 11 year old daughter
Edward Berry (Jan. 1883 - Nov. 14, 1891) 8 year old son
There are quite a few children buried in this cemetery. Pioneers were strong people. I think the greatest hardship was the loss of their children. The Berrys had 12 children. Four of them died in childhood and a few of them died as young adults. I doubt they ever truly recovered from the loss of a single child.

It's sad that the child's headstone appears to be stolen. It would have to be a heartless evil person to desecrate any grave marker. I hope his identity and story can again one day be known.

This is so well presented Ron. The music is very touching. I believe you have the second sight as we here in Scotland call it. There is two small children ofton seen in the grounds of Balmoral castle. No one knows anything of them. Seen for generations. Nothing can be found out about them. But its said they hang into each other like there is nothing else in the world. I love this. The atmosphere, the expectations and the truth that we do not always get answers. Respect and thank you.
We were thinking of visiting Balmoral castle and now it's on our definitely to go to place.
I too have heard stories of the two little boys, said to be brothers perhaps, exiled to an early death. God only knows what shameful acts took place behind the walls of the castles. Our ancestors truly had some bizarre behaviors back then.

Yes. It is the two little boys that were killed so that the killers could take over in power and keep the wealth.
Awesomely spooky music! That would be a cool cemetery to explore. Too bad we couldn't get a handle on who's in the lone grave. If it belongs to the ghost boy, maybe he's really teed off that someone took his marker. Seriously it's a shame he is totally forgotten. Thanks, Ron for highlighting whoever's buried there.

Mr Ron you are the Best love the music there was a private cemetery on my Grandparents farm he always said that at dusk you could hear voices if you would listen carefully he said he didn't understand what was going on but he always had respect for the dead and kept the little cemetery mowed and didn't let the brush take over sold the farm after they both past away hope some one is taking care of it
This little fellow needs prayers to rest him. Any Christian could do so by proxy or go to cemetery. Pray for protection over oneself first . t
Apparently the stone has been missing since at least 2015. Nicely kept cemetery for being out in the middle of nowhere. Unique.
@Blue if the stone is missing as recently as 2015 there may well be photos of it. We can hope. It always saddens me when I see an unmarked grave.
That was incredibly sad, spooky and fascinating. Hopefully, your genealogist can find county records that can help identify this little guy. Excellent drone and camera work. The music was very eerie. Oscar worthy!

The grass is cut so I don’t think it’s totally forgotten. Music is nice not scary. If the little boy does come out, perhaps he wants to visit and play. Loved the drone work as always well done Ron.

The cost of burial these days is phenomenal! We buried our Mom this past Friday, and my stepdad already had plots paid for in a cemetery MILES away, so he used one for her. Sadly, I can't shake the feeling that she's buried all alone as there's nobody there that she knew. So this video really touched me deep, the thought of that little boy being buried all alone! Thanks Ron for an amazing video! 😇🙏

That’s very sad that this little guys stone is broken, anyone who visits this cemetery won’t know the name of who this is that’s buried there.
My guess is that he wonders the cemetery at night cause he’s lost, he doesn’t know where his family is. Poor little guy…😢

Did a little digging and there was a blog with a comment board. Seems the stone has been missing for some time. There were pictures of the grave and there were toys and coins on it. No one seems to know the name of the boy. Many got an eerie feeling there and heard dogs barking and saw a figure running between the trees. It's a shame the stone is gone. Thanks for telling this story, Ron.

Awesome looking cemetery...it reminds me a lot of one up the road from me (Mountainburg Arkansas). It is a very secluded, country cemetery, up on a hill. It is also very haunted. One of the oldest people buried there was a man that was born in the late 1700s.
The story of this little boy is just too sad. I've decided to keep this boy in my prayers, believing that somehow his identity will come to light... because, as you stated, "Only God knows who he is". If it's true, that he's been seen, or "haunting", and if he hasn't already been doing this...I'm hoping that he will haunt whoever took his headstone!!! Rest in Peace, dear boy, one day the truth will be known !

I really liked the opening fly in Ron, and the mysterious music! The location of that cemetery, bordered by trees but in that field- something about it that was so spooky! Tell you what i wouldn't want to be there at night. So sad about the little boy, nothing there to identify him. What a wonderful, peaceful place and so well maintained. The early pioneers had such a hard life and this truly does look like they are resting in well deserved peace.

Thanks, Ron! Loved the music and the drone footage. I think someone took that stone as joke or on a dare based on some information given by one of the commenters. Apparently there were pictures of the stone taken with rocks left on top of the marker like people leave when they visit. They mentioned it was taken in 2015, not that long ago.
I love your videos, sir...I used to work in a cemetery..there is something comforting in a way...to explore what was here at some time...this arouses some sense of morbid curiosity but it's OK...all approached in a respectful way....love the musical soundtrack..goes well with the forum...thanks

What a cool little cemetery. That music is eerie and goes perfectly with the story. I hope that grave stone with the missing inscription is this little boys. He needs to have a metal plate placed on it, if it can be proved that it is indeed his stone. Many thanks to the genealogist who looked up this info on him and his family. How sad to bury 4 of their children.

I used to live just up the street from a beautiful cemetery. I took my dog there to play day or night. I never had any worries or anxiety. Then one night while I was walking with my dog, Buster he seemed just not willing to run and play like normal. It was around 9 pm. It was fall, so it was already very dark. I looked around thinking maybe he seen another animal. I was on my phone with my sister. Not really paying a close mind. Then I seen 3 headstones. I remember getting a chilled feeling and I said to my sister. "That's kinda odd. Those headstones look like children standing in the shadows." I didn't remember ever thinking that before. But things look different in the dark. So I brushed it off and took Buster home.
The next night was a new moon. Not good for seeing anything in the dark. But the next time I went was in the day light. I wanted to read the inscriptions onthe stones.
Keep in mind I had lived there for 10 years and really liked this place. Then in the light of day I could find no headstones that would have made that shape. About 3 feet tall with an oval on top. 3 in a row. I am sure I knew what area I walked in, because the cemetery had a black top driving path. And though it was fairly big it was by no means massive.
Anyway though I walked there in the full moon several more times I never once seen those shapes again. I don't know what I seen. But I still think about it sometimes. And I'm slightly more cautious of cemeteries because of it.

Ohhhh, how sad, no one will ever know if this is the little boy or not. It doesn't look like the headstone just toppled over, it looks like someone literally picked it up and took it. Why do people feel the need to do things like this 😢😢😢😢

Rest in peace little one, & everyone. My opinion: sad little guy's headstone is missing. All I can say if someone took it that's not a good thing to do, for it will bring ill will to those who do things as such. It is said that sometimes he is seen with a spirit dog, & that there are multiple spirits of young boys in that particular Cemetery. Stay safe Sir & everyone.

I learned to drive in one. My mom would sit by her dad's stone and decorate with flowers 💐. She told me to drive slow and do not go out on the road. As a kid I would go around looking at head stones. Cleaning around them or putting flowers back in that blew out. I still do this when I go.

Perhaps in the early days of the cemetery, the child’s grave was set in the corner to define the boundary line. Maybe the burial plots around his were purchased and reserved for his family, lost since moved away from the area. I hope the poor boy will be identified… it’s so sad that he has been forgotten.

My mother and her maternal side were full Maya Indians and we know they are sensitive to everything spiritual.
So my mom, me, and my son, and a grandniece have that sensitivity. My son's not that strong he prefers to ignore it.
My mom and I have had interesting experiences.
Well, my mom told me that spirits are shy and will make their presence known for whatever reason they have but it's briefly then they hide.
Evil spirits are a different story.
So maybe, just my opinion, the little boy wants to be known. If that's the resting place he wants to be known but just like his name doesn't appear maybe he's looking for his parents. He hasn't realized that he is no longer of this world. There is no time on the other side. 🤷🏼

Hi RC, well to me, cemetery's that are in the middle of nowhere are the spookiest of all places to go. I also thought that cemeteries are to be closer to the living, as in towns or cities.
