It would be logical that they have known of and worked with each other for some time before they debut. Thus obviously they would be familiar with each other. Suddenly putting 5 strangers together would be super awkward.
I am only guessing but I get the feeling that from Council - JP Gen 6 - ID Gen 3 - Advent - DEV_IS..... they have had the girls working together a lot and put them through some serious professional bootcamping pre debut. All of these gens debuts + the time shortly after they seemed much closer and more confident than all of their predecessors.
I don't remember who said it or where I've seen it, but each gen has a lot of time to socialize and build their own chemistry before the debut, since there is a lot of time between them getting hired and actually starting to stream. Probably at least a couple of months, which makes sense.
