    *This episode was a real blast! We got some much stronger Spell Cards than we were expecting and the duel took a fun twist!* 😅
    We've been reading your feedback about including a way for us to get some staple cards we may have missed. Maybe opening packs Dark Beginning?

      I'm watching these videos as an MTG player as well. Played Yu-Gi-Oh when it first came out at a very casual level with friends, haven't played since a year or so after the movie came to theatres in the US. It's been fun relearning the game and realizing it has more potential than my memory gave it credit. Don't think I have the money for both, and I think MTG is the greatest game ever made so that's what I will stick to. Hope to get a decent YuGiOh deck and hit up some prereleases at some point.

    I love this series but one thing I think they should do differently is that they should each select which card the other one wagers, to prevent unfair wagers like toon blue eyes and stuff like that.
    It should be their strongest new card, not one that can barely be used.

    • @Xylarxcode
      @Xylarxcode 2 года назад +14

      Agreed. The Blue Eyes wager was pretty bogus. He should have put up his delinquent duo. The point of winning or losing is that you gain or lose a powerful addition to your deck, not a dinky card you can't even play.

    I'm really loving this series, but I think it goes against the spirit of the challenge if you bet your most useless rare card, instead of the most useful. I feel like Alec should have bet Delinquent Duo instead of Blue Eyes Toon Dragon. It really isn't a rare card or a good win if what you'd end up losing isn't all that meaningful.

    I love the premise for this series, maybe a but down the road if bricks end up becoming a regular thing you could do an episode where you pick each OTHERS wager card from their whole pool rather than just the most recent packs. • @TheAdrianPardo
      @TheAdrianPardo 2 года назад +1

      blue eyes toon is actually a secret which is technically the "rarest" rarity despite being trash in this case

    • @kiaba360-4
      @kiaba360-4 2 года назад +4

      Blue Eyes Toon was one of two secret rares in Spell Ruler, so technically Alec was within his right to wager it because it was his rarest pull. The card must be rare, not necessarily useful. For example, Cyber Jar was a Rare in Spell Ruler, yet it completely turned the game back around in Alec's favor. Hell, he wound up drawing the Toon because of Cyber Jar. Additionally, it's not like the Rare Hunters in the show were known for their integrity.
      As the card pool increases, it's gonna be harder for Alec to justify having Blue Eyes Toon in his deck. He'll eventually have to wager something that is rare and useful.

    • @Xylarxcode
      @Xylarxcode 2 года назад +3

      @@kiaba360-4 Yea, see, I understand that to some degree, but it's a copout. Like A Sheep Puppet said, it's not in the spirit of the challenge. You don't weaken your deck by losing a toon blue eyes. The point of winning is that you get to add a powerful addition to your deck while taking one away from your opponent. Delinquent Duo was right there. That was the card to bet. Its rarity is lower than that Toon Blue Eyes, but its value in their decks is exponentially better and that's what makes the series engaging.
      Alec being allowed to put up his Toon Blue Eyes because of its rarity is lame, because it's a dinky card. It's useless. Sure, he has to put it in his deck so he runs the risk of bricking on it, but that's a small price to pay when you know the payoff is that you can't lose a card that's actually valuable, in the case of a game loss.
      Technically, he's allowed to do it. He's not breaking any rules by doing so. In the spirit of good gamesmanship, it's a bit of a low blow, though.

      It was a copout, imo. What's to keep Paul from doing the same next episode? What is the point of losing a card you didn't care about in the first place? Imo, it shouldn't be about the card's rarity, but its power level in your deck.

    Great Episode!
    Always love to see a Maha Vailo with an equip in these kinds of games.
    Tailor of the Fickle is also a sweet choice for this metal raiders gameplay.
    Last I really enjoy seeing cards like Fire Kraken on the field, some of these old yugioh vanillas are some of my favorite yugioh artworks.
    Looking forward to the next episode!

    I love Alec's anime villain energy and evil laughs in these duels! Also, Paul, he gave you plenty of warning about attacking Cyber Jar lol.

    So, as a sometimes watcher of TCC, because I'm a sometimes player of MTG, who for like, three months, like ten years ago tried playing some Yu-Gi-Oh, I liked what I'd seen from you guys, and found myself checking out your channel today.
    Found the first episode of this series as the thing that stood out to me right away somehow, and I'm interested! Watched the first two episodes, about to watch this one, and I'm gonna watch any more that are up too.
    Given my position of what I know about Yu-Gi-Oh, this series is REALLY interesting, because, I don't really know much at all. When I tried playing, there was all the xyz stuff though I think not the link and other crazy stuff that has come since, so I didn't really get in to things enough to enjoy it.
    But this series, going set to set, this is really interesting, especially with the evolving decks, it's a cool limited format that I'd love to play myself.
    So, uh, yeah, great work guys, super entertaining, thanks!

    This was fun! I like the more formal declaration of the wagered card. It feels less bad for the loser to be able to avoid hemorrhaging their best stuff so long as they play some equally rare but maybe less powerful cards too.

    Im just comming back to yugi after so many years, and this series really highlights the good old slow card game I loved.
    The way the progression is handled from video to video and the decks keep adaptiong and changing is amazing!
    I'm so exited for the next video!
    Keep it up! 💯

    The rare hunter series is one of the most amazing ideas I've seen so far, you guys keep it fun, amazing and melancholic. Just watching the oldest cards, yugioh just being a plain simple game to enjoy with minimal combos and stuff. Purely amazing and amusing 🎉🎉❤️❤️ love the great work!!!

    You gotta fall down, meet ground, to get back up again.

    Spinnin' it out at the speed of sound,
    Gonna rip it up, 'nother bet is down.
