That isn’t damaging your skull or mis-shaping it, it is just a combination of the compression of your hair and the displacement of fluids and fats outside the skull. If your worried about how it looks, just wash your hair after gaming, and the fluids should settle back in a couple of hours but it isn’t very noticeable unless your bald or have short, thin hair.

I ain't got enough reaction speed, so I crank the volume to use hearing to pin point locations. Unfortunately the sound is getting more broken every season and they are doing nothing to fix it.

You won't get head dent unless u wear a headset for your entire life. Still it might be slight. U can wear headset everyday for 12 hrs a day. A skull can't change shape after it's fully grown.

@@swagger96420 nooo men trust me its not just the hair i have the proof ive been using gaming headsets for years and i shaved my head bald a year ago then i saw on my head (with no Hair) is the dent exactly at the point where the headband is. Sorry to hear that but i have the proof that it isn't just the hair.
It's not just the hair. Everyone's skull, head, face and ear shape is different not to mention whatever you wear glasses. Also the headband and earcup of said headphone/headset plays a massive role on the comfort level as well.

Its called a skin indent it isn't permanent and it does not damage your head. After like a few months it will be gone and if u check your pinkie you misht have a skin indent because you hold your phone alot

@@Seb_09m it's called Dolby Access..then u go to settings, and choose gaming...performance mode, and save... if u want to customize, there are youtubers that do will give game specific settings depending on ur headset output...meaning if ur headset is bass heavy, etc or whatever...
It's free for like 7 or 14 days...and in black friday week it's usually on sale for like $10...make sure u go to the xbox settings as well, audio, and change from windows sonic to Dolby atmos...

@@papitosabe I’ve heard a few sound experts actually say Dolby makes it worse depending on the headset. Give stereo I try as soon as I did I never went back to Dolby
@@papitosabe idk if someone deleted ur comment I can only see it through my notifications lmaoo. I could read the first part tho and I actually didn't realize they had a game mode for dolby that's pretty neat. Mine did say it was enabled already, but at least with my a40's on siege directional audio is 10x better still using stereo. I do keep my dolby settings and all that on but try loading a bot game and switching between the 2. Dolby seems better for outter surrounding sounds(someone on te stairs and to the right above you) but point blank directions stereo is like crystal clear
as someone who wears a headset about all day, sometimes even forgetting to take it off at night, I can confirm a headset dent is not real, it can be an impression in your skin for about a minute at the most.

I play R6 and I’ve heard that earbuds since they are in your ear they make more sound so you can hear footsteps making it easier to hear stuff and know where ppl are

that's just the hair forming around the headphone band, if you have it tight on your head then that's where head indentions form
i just use the aux iphone earbuds for siege, i hear everything good. directional audio, distinction between upstairs and downstairs, which guns are being fired, shuffling, sprinting, prone(ing), gadget deployment sounds, etc. I hear so well, in fact, that it makes me anxious about making a move. (hard to explain that one)

Pro tip: If you wear a hat you don’t get a headset line. A beanie or ball cap work fine and can also help with them being uncomfortable. Or make it worse
Headphone dent isn’t permanent lmfao it’s just the skin tissue deforming etc, it’ll go back. It’s just like when you fall asleep with your hand on your face and it causes a massive red mark across your face for like 30 min. If you’re that scared of it get a suspension band type headset. Reduces the downward force on your head.
The problem with earbuds is me for example. I build up earwax really quickly that’s y I stopped using my se215s otherwise that’s my go to every time over a headset
Just clean your ears and you won’t have earwax and if you do have earwax in your earbuds use a tooth pick to get it out

A gamer dent happens when one has no life and constantly avoids everyone by wearing a headset and not having a stretchy band and just letting the plastic band sit on your head just a fyi to avoid it

Wearing earphones for gaming is worse than the "gamer dent" the earphone is much closer to the eardrum and has a higher risk of hearing damage.
Best to lower the volume, use speakers, and change the position of the headphones resting or even wear it much less.
i would get a set of steel series. the headband keeps it from caving your head in.

It actually pushes your skull in. Thats if you wear for most of the day, everyday, for months. Humans aren't supposed to have constant concentrated pressure for a long period. I'd rather wear earbuds
it’s not the skull, it the skin getting pushed away. the skull is too hard for that to happen
Get IEMs, they are like earbuds and are relatively cheap ($25-$75)

Just use headphones with a light strap that won't give you a dent? It doesnt need to be heavy af for it to "sound good", most headsets end up sounding worse than contemporary headphones while being way less comfortable anyways. Headsets are only useful for the mic and that's it.
Earbuds aren't a bad choice and in-ears can often produce a better sound than any other audio around the same price.
Just pick what you want, but don't deny yourself of something due to a problem that can be easily fixed.
I have cheap 20$ in-ears that sound really nice, but I also have my Meze 99 Neo, which may be expensive, but it was made to be worn on plane flights for hours on end, and is used by the person who made the company for this reason in the first place, so I trusted it when I bought it and I don't regret it. (Technically he uses Meze 99 Classics, but the Neo is the same thing with easier to produce materials)
I use these headphones daily, and have been for a long time for about 8+ hours a day. Never gotten a "dent" that most people complain about.
All-in-all, Don't deny yourself from a form of audio you prefer due to an issue that can be prevented by proper research. Find comfortable pairs of headphones, find earbuds that fit your ears, ect. Just DO RESEARCH. Don't deprive yourself from good sound.
By wearing earbuds your more likely to develop ear fungus and gather more bacteria.

A headset dent is just the soft tissue at the top of your head slightly compressing it’s not that bad.
Imo headsets are worse since they hurt my ears after 1 hour, and if used for long periods of time without cleaning, it may cause an infection in the ear.

I had the TB Elite pro tournament edition headsets that were $200 when I got them new a few yrs ago...I use $30 Sony earbuds with the Xbox atmos app, with position sound, and they are just as good, if not better for mp shooter games, where u need positional sound...and waaaaay more comfortable

And these aren't the cheapo hard ones u get for free with phones, they're comfortable and the insert is rubber. I literally sleep with them in while listening to rain sounds.
