Me too. The TV ads of today are complete rubbish. I was born in March 1963 so remember the TV ads from the 1970s. I remember the Shake and Vac Lady the Milk Tray Action Man. Lorraine Chase and her Luton Airport Ad. Also the very gorgeous Cadbury Flake Girl. Ad makers today need to take a leaf out of as makers from the 1970s to see how it is done. All we have today is ads for insurance cremations etc etc and I can't think of one with a catchy jingle like we used to have in the 1970s. Tony in Portsmouth.
7:54 I totally remember when department store security cameras looked like these!! When I was a little girl I asked my mum what the spaceships on the ceiling were!!! Ahhh the good ol’ days!!
The way these adverts cut reminds me of the cinema adverts. The pop between each advert could be heard in the cinema but don't remember hearing such on tv.
I was young when the cinzano ad first aired and thought that joan Collins looked a bit old to play the part of a glamorous woman ... 40 years on and I think she looks well fit. .. time is a funny old thing.
What the hell that's her? The second advert? Also after a second watch I got the innuendo. She looked totally different, there was a point maybe 15-20 years ago she looked stunning. Before the sickly underweight plastic fantastic stuff.
@@gilesbrooks8790 Correct. But the politically correct brigade have so overdone it that people are turning against them in record numbers. They've even annoyed people like me who used to support small-scale political correctness.
June Whitfield looking like German drag queen in the Birds Eye advert! Wow forgot how campy and off the wall some could be. So many faces and voices of actors who became household names.
Can't remember any of the pubs round our way being bombed..they're all closed now..no shops open on a Sunday.... brilliant!..(one day a week not spending money you ain't got.....food banks were invented this century....don't remember people being beheaded in the centre of London back then.....I'd love a 3day week being as my job is just so fucking boring on a zero hour contract.....this is the bullshit age. Nothing is any good. Its all rubbish
hahahahahhaha that toothpaste advert is hilarious 'that night she didn't go home, and she hasn't been home since' LOL is she missing or dead? hahhahahahaa
Toothpaste ad lol 'That night she didn't go home'...... now she is on the missing 70s girls list along with a few others lol, the Guy gave her anal and chopped her up and dumped her in the M25 bridge cement.....
The Foster Grant ad had a very “Kraftwerk” feel about it. Also, the Brutus Jeans song was released as a successful single with the words “Brutus Jeans” replaced by “blue, blue jeans”, composed and sung by David Dundas (a.k.a. Lord Dundas of Zetland - a genuine aristo!)
it was a great advert when seen in the cinema, really loud, several versions...there was one with dobermans too, that was good, Gary Numan has a pilots license I heard..................late 70's
Modern-day advertising executives (and their stooges) should be forced to watch this video. That way they would know how utterly cràp and mind-numbing the bilge that passes for 21st century advertisements are.
Ah the jingles that are still seared in the memory cells. 'Good tune isn't it?' And Brutus jeans singalong ditties but aren't some of these from the 80's such as the Lee Cooper jeans ad with the Gary Newman track?
Jeez I'm getting old...I thought I was too young to remember these. Always loved the chinzano adverts and loved them and would also often run around singing "everyone's a fruit and nutcase..." I also had the original jeans song by David Dundas. Wear ULTRABRIGHT...one smile and your teeth explode.
I remember this classic cinzano From 1977 with Leonard Rossiter And joan colllins. Loved it I put my blue jeans on For brutis jeans Remember that diet pepsi ad Lip smacking pepsi cola uhh
The ultra brite toothpaste ad was a bit unsettling by its commentt at the end that molly went off with her boss and has,nt been home since.( it gives the impression he may have killed her.)
Still sing the Fruit and Nut advert to this day :D
Love the Tab ad, this is a very good 1970's British Adverts classics!!
Can you imagine going out of your way in 30 years time to watch the adverts of today ? No, I thought not. I couldn't even name a current advert
Me too
Cos they're rubbish like everything else

Some of the adverts are obviously from the 1980’s...but they are all good and very nostalgic...takes me right back to my childhood.
7:54 I totally remember when department store security cameras looked like these!! When I was a little girl I asked my mum what the spaceships on the ceiling were!!! Ahhh the good ol’ days!!
That Foster Grant advert is cool enough that I’m going to shop with them now.
adverts then were sometimes better than the programmes and much more entertaining! anyone agree!!
Glad you said the word then, ads today suck.
ads today are about winning awards - not entertaining people or even selling the product.
They are certainly better than the programmes today
I used to love the Carling black lable ads.
Oh yes
Oh, those lovely memories...!
Fabulous blast from the past. From a time that was simpler. ( rose tinted glasses) hahaha
I animated the Refreshers Commercial.
It's great, good job
But do you know Billy Allison..?
That’s refreshing to hear.
One of my favourite adverts from being little
You did a great job!
The way these adverts cut reminds me of the cinema adverts. The pop between each advert could be heard in the cinema but don't remember hearing such on tv.
June Whitfield as Pinnochio's Mum lol. remember that ad like it was yesterday.
Gary Dunn Long before she became Terry’s wife and Saffie’s grandmother!
June Whitfield had her 93rd birthday a few days ago!
Not sure about her Welsh accent though.
Rest in peace, dear June.
So that's who it was!
These were the feel good adverts of the 70's long before before life insurance adverts constantly reminded us everyday of our impending demise in 2018
I remember those early 2 litre coke bottles with the weird black tub on the bottom!
MatchstalkMan that tub contained a pound of sugar
Me too lol
BrexitCub 38 what? You contain a pound of sugar?🤣
Lol. What begins with P, ends in I and you're drinking it?
An elephant.
That'll do, where are you taking me?
Frank Muir and his Fruit and nut choc bar. Such memories. Love these.
Youd get the mental health activists going doolally if that was used today!
I was young when the cinzano ad first aired and thought that joan Collins looked a bit old to play the part of a glamorous woman ... 40 years on and I think she looks well fit. .. time is a funny old thing.
colin glen Joan Collins gave me the horn back then, even though I was only 10-11 lol
What the hell that's her? The second advert?
Also after a second watch I got the innuendo.

when you are 10 .....16 looks ancient 20 is another planet and 40 you defo ahve one foot in the grave.....
colin glen Joan Collins was a milf before the word milf was thought of
colin glen always thought she was as fit as well you know. However, what was she doing with Leonard?
Everyone's a fruit and nutcase. Loved those catchy old tunes in them classic old ads.
Youd get the mental health activists on your case today!
@@gilesbrooks8790 Correct. But the politically correct brigade have so overdone it that people are turning against them in record numbers. They've even annoyed people like me who used to support small-scale political correctness.
The music is actually "Danse des mirlitons" from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker
Great to see these! The Lee Cooper ad was sung by Gary Numan before he became successful
I was wondering about that, did he have a hit around '81?
No it was released by a guy called John Du Cann who had a small hit with it in 79/80 I think.
@@PHOENIXHOUSE137 It sounds like Gary Newman doing a cover of the original in his style
I remember every single ad , I feel old all of a sudden 🤣
June Whitfield was a brilliant actress!
hahaha that Cinzano ad was hilarious! I'd watch an entire movie starring that dude, pouring drinks all over the place while trying to pick up chicks
The birds eye chicken pie advert had me laughing 😂
That Foster Grants advert was brilliant!
Great Times, was a kid in the 70s,! Born 23rd May 1968, northern Ireland UK,,! Remember most of these adds,!

Fabulous adverts directed very often by directors who became Hollywood directors. That’s why they’re so amazing!
Such as Ridley Scott.
Foster grants (especially the imposter aunts) brilliant.
Did you know the Lee Cooper jeans ad was sung by Gary Numan (Cars/are friends electric)
Was it him, or an imitation?
Always suspected but never confirmed
it was him..definitely. However The single, released in 1979 was sung by John DuCann..(former Atomic Rooster member).
I think it was credited to Gary Numan's band, "Tubeway Army"...??
Yes it was him. He did this advert version based around the original song Dont Be A Dummy by John Du Cann. Look it up on RUclips
I like how in the first advertisement, they broadcast the half second or so, whilst she is waiting to start her lines! 😂
hahahahahhaha that toothpaste advert is hilarious 'that night she didn't go home, and she hasn't been home since' LOL is she missing or dead? hahhahahahaa
Toothpaste ad lol 'That night she didn't go home'...... now she is on the missing 70s girls list along with a few others lol, the Guy gave her anal and chopped her up and dumped her in the M25 bridge cement.....
Some of those look like they are from The 80's.
that's what i was thinking
Always wanted to smash the tv when the foster grants ad came on😂 I must have had anger issues even in the 70s
No your normal , the ad is annoying.
and to this day no one knows who foster grant was, what he did or where he went
I want him back. Whoever and wherever he is!
My parents wore Foster Grant sunglasses. Pretentious gits.
Foster Grant's were an American company that made glasses. They're still around today.
Wow this takes you back to a much more inicent time and...so very English.
Barbara Stepien-foad yep it was way better back then for sure
Classic 70s adverts, loving it!
I have that David Dundas song on one of my MP3 compilations, called 'Jeans On'
Is it just me, because i always thought June Whitfield was well hot?
youandwhosearmy? Just you
she still is mate
RIP June
She was attractive back then.
She played a nurse in a tony Hancock comedy when she was about 30 and she was gorgeous.
Great to hear Gary Numan singing the Lee Cooper ad 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sounds like Gary Numan singing the Lee Cooper jeans ad jingle...which looks more 1980s than 70s.
It was Gary Numan, 1978 I think.
@Walkercolours I sure hope it did. It was well scary like PEGI 18! EEK
it was a great advert when seen in the cinema, really loud, several versions...there was one with dobermans too, that was good, Gary Numan has a pilots license I heard..................late 70's

Where has all the fun gone.

The Foster Grant ad was way ahead of its time
Tab was bitter. I loved these ads.
what's got hazelnuts in every bite? squirrel shit! happy days!
Joan Collins and Leonard Rossiter in the Cinzano advert, brilliant. " And it's WET, too". " The best Cinzanos always are ", hahaha.
My biggest worry in 1979 was time coming when i would have to leave the children's home in to the big wide world.
I hope that life treated you kindly and that you are doing well.
Gary Newman is the vocalist on the Lee Cooper ad.
4:00. You can tell it's the seventies. People still associated coppers with walking.
My favourite ad ever was the dancing milk bottles❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had to look up what Foster Grant were, as I had no clue from the advert. A very avant Garde ad.
Squirrel shit...a nut in every bite lol
YES!
JUNE WHITFIELD WAS A BIT OF ALL RIGHT
The Jeans On (Brutus) ad seems contemporary in 2017!
1976 Advert. And that song became a hit!

My name is eddie got that add loads at school
The Lee Cooper song sounded like Gary Numan
The topic HIGH PITCH voice.....that's Bill Oddie, right?.

Yeaahhh, I was wondering about the voices, it's the goodies.
Terry Scott

Birds eye chicken pie . My tummy still has nightmares .
June Whitfield selling chicken pies. Bless her, she died last week.
love watching these classic British tv adverts far better than today rubbish adverts which are just rubbish
The Foster Grant advert sounds like early 80's (Kraftwerk/Gary Numan parody?)
Sounded more like a basis for Da Da Da - by Trio.
Iv just realised you don't really see sweet advertising on tv
Janet Njie political correctness, like cigarettes it’s bad for you I suppose
ooh those jeans ads
6:38 "That night, Marley didn't go home, She hasn't been home since....!" - I take it her boss is the main suspect in her disappearance?
I used to drink TAB in 1970
My twin daughters have both said it’s got that high pitched sound that only kids can hear both have begged me to switch it off after 10 seconds!
the Foster Grant commercial reeks of early 80s cheese.
The music to that ad sounded like an imitation of a kraftwork song.. I prob misspelled kraftwork!

we used to see the American ads on UK TV unaltered - just like some programmes. but not anymore alas, they get dubbed nowadays
Those 'new' plastic coke bottles have proved to be a really good idea eh !

ArnoGoldfinger with a big stupid fuckin white grin.🤣
The girl in the Brutus jeans ad is cute :)
Very. Looks a bit like Susanna Hoffs. Anyone know who she is?
The style/look of the ad and music seems more early 80's than 70's imo.
