Oh yeah, to clarify, you're born with a heavenly pact, so it kinda just happens at birth. Binding vow is kinda the same thing but you can do it at anytime and you decide the restriction in exchange for something, but probably when you're an adult. And also, you can find loopholes around them to a degree and sometimes it possible to negate it while keeping the its benefits, like Toji using cursed tools to workaround the fact be has no cursed energy.
It's kinda more the opposite. A heavenly package is pretty much a very strong binding vow that's made at/before birth without your choice.
So like he isn't spending years of his life, he's spending cursed energy he accumulated during the years of turbo suffering he went through due to his heavenly pact that made him a limbless moldy smelling nerd.

An example of a binding vow is from season one! Where Sukuna gives Yuji the “keyword” (unchain), which allows him to take over his body for a minute, in return for that Yuji will forget about the vow, which he didn’t like so fought Sukuna for and lost.
Binding vows can be between multiple people, or to yourself, exchanging one thing for another

so basically heavenly pacts/restrictions you are born with them and you don't get to decide whether you make the exchange or not, the pacts after birth which are just called pact/binding vow and you can trade something for something else, BTW! When mechamaru uses his ultimate attack he uses years of built up cursed energy not his life year themselves!
Make sure to tell your mom about the ghosting and dimming in season 2. not 100% about this but I’m pretty sure jjk s2 was made to broadcast on some channel that requires flashing to be censored, so the tv version of season two had a bunch of scenes ghosted and dimmed to follow those guidelines, which unfortunately makes some of the action hard to follow
There are technically 2 types of heavenly pacts/ restrictions 1 the first type is the restriction toji and maki have basically you’re born with no cursed energy but in exchange of losing cursed energy you get an amazing body with enhanced super strength and super speed meanwhile the 2nd heavenly restriction is the one with mechamaru which is you like the reverse of toji and maki’s restriction basically mechamaru or whoever has the same restriction is you get a large amount of cursed energy but in exchange you get a very weak and frail body now both types of heavenly restrictions can be altered by idle transfiguration

A heavenly pact is a very rare condition that gives the person a huge amount of something for an exchange of something else at birth. For example: Toji has crazy physical capabilities but has zero curse energy; Mechamaru has a lot of curse energy but has a very fragile and sensitive body. Hence why he made a deal with Mahito and the other guy. (Think of it like those rare conditions some babies are born with IRL).

Heavenly pacts are similar to binding vows but are rarer and the user can’t choose to have a heavenly pact or not since it’s forced onto them
There are 2 types of heavenly pacts
1. Toji and Maki have one where it gets rid of all their cursed energy when their born for heightened senses and Physical prowess
2. Mechamaru has one where all his cursed energy production and his cursed technique range gets boosted but he gets a weaker body with all sorts of physical deformities
Hence why mechamaru worked with Mahito the only one who could change his physical body to that of a regular person and the year charges he’s using are not his life span but instead it’s the cursed energy he’s been storing up since his birth
Binding Vows are choice based and any with yourself can be broken but you lose any boost you might’ve gotten through that sacrifice
Binding vows with others are stricter binding vows but both people get to choose not to enter one because if they don’t follow the conditions placed the one who doesn’t fulfill their side gets punished

Let me explain something to you real quick; so you know how Toji has a heavenly pact (heavenly restriction) so heavenly restriction (heavenly pact) is basically when you’re born you get to decide kinda like mechamaru when he for exchange for his mech suit made his body fragile so it’s kinda like that with Toji he exchanged the power of cursed energy for his speed and agility. (Also he got to choose) I hope this helps you have a better explanation on it.

14:02 thats not really it. Mechamaru has been preparing himself for his whole life(well almost, the 17 years he got are stored up cursed energy that he has been trying to save.
wiki of jjk says: "While piloting Mechamaru Mode: Absolute, Kokichi was prepared to use all seventeen years, five months, and six days of cursed energy he collected over his entire lifespan. Energy charges condensed from years' worth of cursed energy discharge at special grade output levels, even if only momentarily."
So he was collecting that cursed energy for his entire life just so he can use huge amounts of it at once to fight some powerful enemy.
Mechamaru also has a heavenly pact where he was born having a ton of cursed energy but has a terrible body.
A binding vow works on the same principle of equivalent exchange but the sorcerer can impose it on himself for a boost in power, a good example is nanami in the first season where he has to hold his cursed energy release until he is "overtime"
He isnt taking off years of his life with those moves, he's spending the cursed energy accumulated over those years. E.g. that move at the end there spent one year of built up cursed energy - NOT one year of his life

The "Heavenly" in "Heavenly Restriction\Pact" means that "THE HEAVENS DECIDED THIS" basically.
It's something beyond Toji's, Mechamaru's or Maki's control.
Your mom asked if Gojo has one, but he was (as far as I know, which is 2 seasons of anime) simply born with both the "Limitless" Cursed Technique, which is passed down in the Gojo clan, AND the "6 Eyes" which is the pretty blue eyes he has.
Not clear on what it does precisely, but it lets him see so much it's disgusting, including the tiniest flow of Cursed Energy.
It lets him use his C. Energy very efficiently, and when combined with Limitless, he can use that efficiently as well, which is why he can do busted things like stop any mass moving towards him automatically.
The moment he learned his Reverse Cursed Technique (what he uses to heal himself after Toji beat him) he constantly uses his 6 Eyes and Limitless while healing himself from the excessive use.

Mechamaru does not take off years of his life when powering up the giant robot, I don’t know why so many people get this wrong. Since he’s like kinda the opposite of what toji’s heavenly restriction was, instead of having a strong body for weak cursed energy he had a very weak body in exchange for a lot of cursed energy. So what he did was store some of it for 17 years, allowing him to power up those powerful attacks. He’s not depleting his lifespan, he’s consuming stored cursed energy.

A heavenly restriction is given at birth (ex: toji maki and mechamaru) a heavenly pact is to put in a non spoiler example someone is a tough spot and they sacrifice something to give them a fighting edge
Another cool heavenly restriction fact is that not all pacts or restrictions are limited to taking away cursed energy, coincidentally mechamaru is a perfect example because he to like maki and toji has a heavenly pact but instead of giving him no cursed energy he got an abundance of it and why he was defromed and bed bound since birth because you have to give to receive in a pact and which is also why he can control his Shikigami from so far away and why when he use's his ultra strong moves it costs him his cursed energy by a ton which effects a part of the brain that utilizes cursed energy and because of how much he uses with those moves it in return takes years off his life because with the loss of that cursed energy in the brain it deteriorates that part of the brain. dang i went down the rabbit hole but the only way to understand it is to go down the rabbit hole so i hope my comment helped ya understand a little more about jujutsu. i love your guy's content and keep up the good work! ☺

Every time Mechamaru uses a move on his giant mech suit it doesnt take his life force or anything, hes just using the Cursed Energy hes stored for years due to his heavenly restricted body. Mechamaru has a type of heavenly restriction that is basically the complete opposite of Toji's, in exchange for a useless body hes granted a cursed technique with wider range (which extends throughout all of Japan pretty sure) and the ability to store cursed energy

its not life it takes away from mechamaru. those 17 years are all the years of built up cursed energy he’s saved over the years. he has so much cursed energy stored because mechamaru ALSO has a heavenly restriction where he was born with insane levels of cursed energy and range but at the cost of having paper skin and bones.
Mechamaru’s heavenly restriction is mainly to show it goes both ways as maki and toji’s. it's not just giving away any cursed energy for inhumane strength and speed, it can also be to have insane levels of cursed energy and range but at the cost of being so fragile.

Gojo does not have a heavenly restriction. Gojo was boen with the six eyes but hebdidnt give anything up for the six eyes when he was born. Toji gave up cursed energy for insane physical abities and mechamaru gave up his body for insane cursed energy. And to correct you it is not called a heavenly pact itz a hea ely restriction cuz it restricts you and. Binding vow is like that but you can choose what tk gain and lose but it has to be an equal trade. Hope this helps u are a very good youtuber keep it up😝🫵🐐
