I was on the uss white plains 86-88 and the usns spica from 94-96 and had many family reunions on those piers after several westpacks and one nasty fire.

My favourite US Military base. Visited after we lost Clark in the Philippines. A wonderful base with a Norfolk, VA...robust feel! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿✊🏿‼️

Guam is a SuperFund site thanks to this base you proclaim to be ur favorite. Whoever’s bright idea to place a military base on top of the porous limestone lid to the only natural aquifer on the island should be shot. Cancer rates on Guam are the highest in the nation and the water that runs through the tap is carcinogenic. Thanks Uncle Sam! Guam, the sacrificial lamb Protesting American interests in the region since 1946, the year Andersen was commissioned as a base on lands stolen from the Artero family and other Chamorros. By ‘the boys’ I assume ur speaking of the transient military class coming through on their temporary assignment to Guahan (Guam), my island and not the native Chamorro Guamanians. The comment also about a ‘piece of home’ has a tinge of cultural superiority. Care to share and discuss more on the continuity of colonization of the Pacific by the Yanks? Settler much?

We welcome our mainland fellow Americans on Guam (ESPECIALLY those who are on the island to defend it), just like Guamanians are welcomed on the mainland, where thousands from the island have relocated.
