    Moi anna. I need your help. Regarding the use of ending -sta and -ssa in places. How should use them. Like example. Olen singaporessa which means from singapore and helsingistä which means from helsinki. Hope you can help me to differentiate each usage. Thanks

      -ssa is in something/somewhere and -sta means from something/somewhere. Olen Singaporessa is I’m IN Singapore and not from Singapore. From Singapore would be I’m FROM Singapore

    hyvaa paiva anna. i do have a question. what is the difference between "you are"- sina olet and "you are" te olette? thanks

    • @FinnishWithAnna
      @FinnishWithAnna  2 года назад +1

      In "sinä olet" you are speaking of one person ("Lisa, you are so cool!") and in "te olette" you are speaking of multiple people (Children, you are late today!").

    Ol means be in Turkish as well. What a coincidence

    • @singleturbosupra7951
      @singleturbosupra7951 3 года назад

      Could there be any chance it is originally a loan word from Hungarians/Magyars? They (or their language at least) spent quite a long while living with Turkic peoples during history and have loads of loanwords from Turkic languages, so maybe there was also loans in opposite direction as well. And seeing that Hungarian is Uralic language, it could be that back when they separated from Uralic peoples they used something similar for word "be".
