It's Michael's own words that Alex is his soulmate. He marries Alex is not about Maria.. it never was the Maria thing. And Maria would never have happened if Alex hadn't kept pushing Michael away I love Alex but he's a dumbass. I get that he had his whole in the closet thing and dealing with his dad and pushing Michael away because he wanted to keep him safe and it was just too much but how about you tell Michael instead letting him think that you don't love him want him or whatever. I just had a lot of frustration with Alex back then by the time he got his shit straight Michael had moved on. Maria was convenient I'm not saying that Michael didn't come to genuinely love the girl I'm just saying she wouldn't have happened if it had been for the fact that Alex kept pushing Michael away. But bottom line they were never meant to be Maria and Michael were not meant to be in this reality. Because the aliens have their own soulmates and Alex is Michaels and Liz is Max's. Isobel /Kyle, Maria /Dallas not sure about Rosa whether it was meant to be Wyatt. or not I'm going to say maybe yes Wyatt /Rosa.
