If you can somehow cram a water sieve in there, you might be able to boost the his water production somewhat since the output is limited to 10 kg/s and any clean water you input is deduced from the total water production. For example, you could set one of the 3 toilets to go to the sieve preferentially and then the sieve's output to be used before water coming from outside, then you can increase the max amount of net water you can produce. You should have enough space by removing his bed. If you could also cram a manual generator, your dupe will slowly train up their athletic, so they should be able to run back and forward faster. It's worth replacing the ladders for plastic ladders. Finally, as a final touch, you can let the CO2 accumulate in the lower floor. Instead, use an element sensor to make sure the second floor is oxygen and bypass the vent overpressure with a bit of liquid. Overtime the pressure will build up inside his room, leading to popped ears. The benifit is that whenever they walks downstairs, they will hold their breath leading to lower total oxygen consumption.
Cool tips; will try some of them! Thanks for the message :) Plastic ladders should have thought of that. Including the water sieve, also nice. Not sure if that really nets a positive, since the water right now is also coming from a sieve. Maybe the maximum amount of pipe capacity can be reached with just 2 lavatories? then I can remove one and have enough space for the manual generator (maybe future heat issues?). Outside of a spacefarer module I would try 4 lavatories and have them on 2 different water grids.
@@Luma_plays If you output a maximum of 10gk/s of pwater but you need to import 4.427kg/s of clean water to keep the process going, then your maximum NET production of water is actually 5.573kg/s. If you want to potentially produce the full net 10Kg/s of water, then you need to produce the difference from inside the module. With that said, even the sieve has a maximum capacity of 5Kg/s so you are still gonna have to import some clean water assuming your dupe isn't your limiting factor. The pee produced by your lavatories should be plenty to keep the module's temperature under 40 celcius. It's produced at a constant 37 celcius. On another hand, the wiki says that dupes train their athletics just by running around, so maybe the manual generator is redondant after all.
@@Tamizushi Nice analysis. Will try to come up with a all in one design! Well some limitations apply. like sand and power. I just rememberwd that i already had a design with a manual generator but the issue was the dupe could only use it every 3 cycles for a short while
I (allegedly) abuse my dupes on occasion in an early game. I will get all of them sick on food poisoning and exploit their vomit as free polluted water, and their bathroom use +200% to get full toilets quicker. That allows me to get a bunch of free (polluted) oxygen from evaporation and more farts…. But come on! At least I LET THEM ACTUALLY use the bathroom 😵💫😅
Haha that also sound very mean. Glad to hear there is someone else playing this game darker than it should be :D I think I tried the puking equals water as a joke in the end of my "Water sources" short. They weren't so happy either.
Actually most of them only once they can be rotated with the "O" button as well. But i had to rebuild a few because i had forgotten to squeeze something else in. I think you can rotate pictures as well. just try it out with every building that you want to have facing a different direction.

I love this exploit even though it is hard not to accidentally loose the dupe. Also the heat over time (if you use hot water) will ruin the doors. So it might be time for a Mark II Version.
@@davidcostin2434 I actually gave him a break now. Not sure my Water system is water positive as it is now. I think it was. Pee water got recycled plus cold steam vent. But i needed the pee water for the thimble reed. I may need to plant some wild

You need a recreation room for your polluted water geyser dupe to idle in. Also, you can activate that dupe with 40% bladder so about 4 game minute of dormancy. You made pip planting mistake by being lazy. 3 (4 for good measure) water reservoir is enough for the powerless chlorine room but must be primed by being full and clean. Also, wrong liquid enter the reservoir will break the cleaning process
Good tips thanks! :) Maybe a telephone can replace the bed so the dupe idles there. I wasn't lazy with the pip I had to rebuild the natural tiles 3 times because of other issues; that didn't make the cut :p. The liquid storages are more or less just for optic. when i need the material i will scrap the excess. But good reminder with the 4 storages. Now i need alot of storages for the fresh water :D.
