In middle school I was the school's first oboe and the school had been open since before I was born so everyone was like "wtf is an oboe" or "it looks like a fancy clarinet"
Yup, I feel this! I played oboe though all of middle and high school, but when I hit college, my classes ate any and all free time. I've been wanting to join the local orchestra for years now, but I'd never have time to practice...
I love how casually she's popping those third octave notes out. I realize it's February but this is my favorite one of these ever. You folks are great!
Hahaha I was literally looking for one of these for oboes and couldn’t find one, W video! Glad it popped up on my recommended lol, good timing on the upload too!

both your tone and tuning is amazing! i’m playing this song rn as i’m in my second year playing oboe and i thought it was impossible until i saw this. you’ve given me hope i can play this in a month 😻
As a clarinet I've always liked hearing the oboe but sadly my school doesn't have any oboe players so it's hard to hear it. So seeing this was a really nice look into how the oboes sound, and I must say, you two sound fantastic
as an oboe play whose concert ended recently there were so many interesting things that you all did with you fingerings and general playing!! you guys are incredible!!
As a long-ago former oboist, this is great!! I wasn't thinking about the reed issues thing until I saw the gal tug on the reed a bit at the end. You two were tight, together, in tune, and aced both parts really cleanly, none of which always happens, and all through some pretty animated part-writing. Great stuff!!

Holding embouche for contra-alto clarinet is soo hard.
Oboes are superior. I’m currently majoring in oboe performance and we’re not playing sleigh ride in any of my ensembles so I miss this a lot.
Believe it or not, this was my first time performing sleigh ride! You’ll get your chance soon to play it again hopefully
Every instrument is superior in its own way. You can just say an instrument is better than another.
As a beginner oboe, this look super hard and very impressive.👏👏👏
keep it up! Thank you :)
