- The Maruti Suzuki WagonR scored one star in adult occupant protection and zero for child occupant protection.
The WagonR also offered weak chest protection for the driver despite the improvements in the restraint systems by Maruti Suzuki since the previous version of the model was tested by Global NCAP.

As a family car Its body is made with combination of 70% rubber contained steel to protect the family when there is a fight inside the car. If wife and husband kick each other soft technology ensures there is no injury to both and feels like bed if they hit car body. It has 5 NCAP rating when it comes to softness!

Low end Caruti Tinfuzuki cars usual result at this point I'm not surprised, although I do expect the Hyryder/Grand Vitara to have good results.
As expected. The addition of Side impact crash tests, worsened the ratings. MS needs to improve the safety of their cars launched before the 2020s.

@@arijit1809 nobody improves overnight, a person upgrades to a small car from bike, its not like a gets a huge SUV. Similarly Alto a entry level car scoring 2-stars is much better and improved than previous cars scoring 0 and 1 stars. Even Tata Nano scored zero stars despite being entry level.

I mock suzuki india for their build quality. But looks like wagon R would have scored 3 stars if there were 6 airbags in this variant. Because i feel it absorbed the front and side collision tests better than before and 6 airbags could have produced a different result because the dummy would not have damaged much. Just an assumption. I'm not supporting suzuki or anything.
Why are they not testing Tata cars with new norms? Tigor was 4 star with old gncap norms, now gncap norms have changed, we want to see all cars tested with new gncap test.
Every new varients , facelifts, of all brands should be tested. This will reduce the number of new varients coming in the market and better safety is ensured...

@@eriktenhag2022 Nahh you won't get 2-star safety for under 6 lakhs. And Tata has an in-house steel factory. That would of course impact their profit margin. I agree you should motivate tata but don't get blinded. Tata is there to make a profit, not for "samaj seva". I like Tata Group, but Tata Motors is just assembling parts from different companies. Their own platform has "X1" underpinnings of Jaguar. And I won't say much but Suzuki is like you will pay for your safety that means the Pricer the car you buy the more safety and rugged car u will get

@@namitsati5091 Nope TATA's Nexon which got 5 stars is actually 4 stars. Tata made a special car with high-end ISOFIX seat mounts and a modified bumper for only GNCAP to score 5 stars. If you test any Nexon before 2021 it will score 4 stars because The car which was tested was never sold. And if you test Nexon now it will score even less than 4 stars because of Stricter Safety criteria and it doesn't have 6 airbags. And At the end Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, VW, Skoda, and Citroen. All are given safety. I am not Tata Hater not a Fan. I am just telling facts. You are very much influenced by other people. And Now it Ratan Tata donated so much then why does he not give free cars to 2-wheeler people? See Tata Motors Car are really bad. Tata just hires some best designers and put parts from other companies. Actually, Pratap Bose was the main person for Tata Motors. Tata know they can not compete with MSIL so they started making EVs early. And you see Brezza with 15 variants which have 3 CNG and 12 Petrol variants Beat Nexon with 100 Variants which include special edition and Diesel, Petrol, and EV. So Brezza just beat NEXON with just 1 engine and 15 variants. If Brezza got a 1.2 Litre Boosterjet and 1.3 MJD then phew!!! This single car will make Maruti Regain a 50% share within a few months.

Not really. It got nearly 20 points. The side impact test is the reason. Before there was only front. It's for sure not an car to transport children's if you care for their life.

@@abraham2174 largely correct, some do care but they are few in number. Otherwise Suzuki shitboxes wouldn’t control 50% of our market. They aren’t any cheaper than the competition.
When it scored 2 stars that was the old gncap test which was more easier. Now the same model which was tested before is tested again and now the new norms of the gncap are much harder so it scored 1 star.
