One thing I love about Regent, aside from the excellent cocktails, in the consistency. You can order the same drink at any bar or restaurant on the ship, lunch or dinner, and it will be the same high quality beverage. Never weak, not too boozy, just right!

Not a bad wine list. Like to see the reserve list. I think we are going to bring 2 bottles a white and a red and something I know they would not have. Prime 7 had very average reds:(

cruised 10/31-11/12 Athens to Lisbon and really enjoyed the Raymond red blend. (don't get the Raymond Cabernet Sav- too dry and flat)

Marla and I are so pleased you enjoyed RSS Explorer as we did last year! You gave a wonderful review of the ship and the Compass Rose menu. Your vlogs are top knotty and Bristol fashion!☘️🤗

I'm sailing Tokyo to Hong Kong in December with Regent on a different ship but I bet they're going to have a similar wine menu. Even if they don't thank you for sharing so now I have some insights into the caliber of wines they serve. And great insider tip -- ask for the wine menu!!! Thanks for this video.

We were on the Regent Splendor in March this year and to your point we would also order the wine we enjoy, and they obliged! We enjoy white and red french wines so our typical choices were Pouilly Fume and Pouilly Fuise as well Chateau Neuf de Pape. Wonderful!

Yay!!!!!! We loved the wines on Regent. What's available on Regent surpasses many other lines. Totally agree re the mixers too.
I just wish Seabourn would take their selection of wines available up 2 or 4 notches.
    👊👏🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂👍

Suggest you check the prices of some of those wines this couple have shown us. Just checked several of them and the prices were between $14.95 and $22 Australian dollars that is. I suspect all cruise lines do this by selling relatively cheap wines at inflated prices to reflect their cruise fares. There are very few people who have the faintest idea between a cheap wine and an expensive wine. For instance, Kim Crawford right now is just $14.95 per bottle in Sydney and yet I did a cruise a couple of years ago on an RCCL ship and they charged $94 Australian for the same bottle of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and remember they got it duty and tax-free and at wholesale price, and the retailer and or wholesale on shore had to pay duty and tax. Now tell me who is ripping who off? Personally, I drink a red from Chile from Aldi which retails at $7.99 per bottle and I have not found a single person yet who can distinguish it from a lot more expensive bottle of wine. No wonder Aldi keeps winning awards for their wines. Makes you wonder with these wine snobs if they have the slightest idea what they are talking about. I am not talking about this couple here I am talking about so-called wine experts.

Is Monkey 47 on offered? I did not It see any high end bourbons on the shelf. Mainly rail bourbons you would find in finer lounges like Delta or Emirates!

Sorry not sure! We’ve just disembarked Regent Grandeur and had your message arrived a couple of days earlier we could have asked for you 😩 We remember looking along the top shelf and seeing a large selection of bourbon whiskey but can’t remember the exact names as we drink scotch! Sorry can’t help 🤗

Are there tastings offered during the day? It would be nice to learn more about what they have.

Yes they did have wine tasting and champagne tasting for a supplement, superior wines.

When you say there is a small supplement fee for certain single malts or whiskeys, can you give us an idea of how much?

@@danielbrasier9053 Hi Daniel, sorry haven’t got that information but it’s only for the top shelf whiskies. Regular whiskies such as Macallan Quest, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Dalwhinnie, are all included in the cruise fare. 👍🏼

I love your videos and content. Could you please tell me how hard it is to BOOK tables? How does the reservations system work?

    • @theposhtravelblog
      @theposhtravelblog  7 месяцев назад

Thanks! We went on the online cruise personaliser after booking and made some reservations. The rest you can book when you’re onboard with the restaurant reservations team, it’s really easy, and if you eat earlier or later there are usually spots available for second or third visits. Pacific Rim - heaven! ❤️

How did you get the list of included wines from the ship? I asked for this on our Silversea cruise and they said there wasn't one, just a list of chargeable wines. They said "tell me what you want" but when I said X they said no, Y no, Z no .... 20 questions, and very unimpressed with what they did offer!

Tiny , small collection of gins on the Explorer compared with Silversea. For example, no boutique small batch gins. (I’ve always said I ate too much on a Regent cruise and drank too much on a Silversea cruise 🙂.)

@@theposhtravelblog on a 16 day cruise on the Silver Moon back in December 2022, I managed to try 22 (twenty two!) different gins. And I reckon there was still another 22 more gins to try. My favourite was a gin from Estonia that came in a copper bottle. (My favourite gin on the Explorer was the strawberry-infused Mermaid Gin from the Isle of Wight.)
