We went in early February 2022 and decided not to rope drop Rise of the Resistance. We had a breakfast reservation at Ohana instead. By the time we got to Hollywood Studios, the park had been open for almost an hour. We went over to Rise to check out the wait time but it had already broken down that day and they weren't letting people get in line. We turned to leave, but less than five minutes later, they started lining people up again and we hopped on line. We almost missed the opportunity but we joined the line just as it was forming. We only waited 40 minutes for Rise that day. So ride closures can be really beneficial if you're fortunate enough. We saved a lot of time!

But when we got there, they didn't have any and didn't know when they'd come back. It won't last...if you look at the reviews from guest many are subpar. Word is spreading that Disney is now a waste of money. Even the CEO is now worried.
@@meganruchwatercolors7186 🙄Jeez, what a pessimist. Disney is NOT dead. Not at all! And the magic's NOT gone, either! It's still around, lying dormant in those who want to help Disney change for the better. I happen to be one of them.
The last time i was lucky enough to go to Disney World was 1996 before phones were hitting their stride and before virtual queues and lightning what evers existed. I had no problems getting on the rides I wanted to get on, i just queued like everyone else. Simpler times.
Same. I was last at Disney in 1998 and everything seemed so much easier. The hardest part was waiting over an hour and 30 minutes to get on Splash Mountain, and in a normal queue 😂 Tbf I was only 12 but I don't remember my parents stressing out about this or that. I had no idea nowadays you have to get a park pass for that day. It's madness. Part of the fun was waking up in the morning and us all talking about what park we were doing that day. Now everything seems so intrinsic, planned out and calculated. Seems a lot of the fun is being lost. Its certainly was simpler times.
I’m ashamed to say that the # of disadvantages to visiting Disney have now surpassed the # of advantages. Having been to Disney over 40 times since 1975, I no longer feel joy about WDW. I wish the old Magic could return before I die…😩
Oh my gosh ! Yes, I could not agree more!!!! So tragic! I am sick about what they are doing. The magic is gone! Walt would not believe it! They do not get his vision or dream.
I made a comment about Disney in the 80s and 90s.....I wish my kids could feel that excitement, but being a down to earth dad that wants to protect his children from these maniacs, just doesn't allow me to take them there.

Congratulations!!!!! We also had our honeymoon at Disney! We were able to stay at the Polynesian. We’ve spent 2 anniversaries at Disney and we’re just there over NewYears for our anniversary. You are going to love it!!!! There’s so much to do at all of the parks as an adult couple with and without kids. It can be as romantic as you want it to be. I highly recommend taking a shuttle boat ride at night riding the smaller boats that run between Magic Kingdom, The Grand Floridian and The Polynesian. You do NOT need to be staying at those resorts to use the shuttle. I also highly recommend catching the Electric Water Pageant Parade from the beach at the Poly. It’s at night and perfect for sharing a Dole-whip while cuddling watching the light show. I speak from experience. Again Congratulations!!!!!!
Whats with this game you have to play to get on rides? Wake up in the middle of the night, test your phones wifi speed connection, open the app and keep hitting refresh for 12 hours. Disney has become a joke.
I Used to Love Disney World BUT now you need to take out a loan to go. I worked at WDW years ago when cast members and guests were treated nice. Not anymore. It's ALL about Profits. UGH!! So Sad!!
This video was very helpful but it also gave me anxiety. I'm going to Disney World in early April so apparently I'm going to get hit with that triple whammy of spring break, Tron opening, and the fireworks show coming back. I'd love to ride Tron but I'll understand if I'm not able to since it will be very busy. I just hope Rise of the Resistance doesn't break down when I'm there. This will be my first time at Galaxy's Edge.
@@kittentalons It went well! I was able to ride Tron a day after it opened. Rise of the Resistance didn't break down the day I was at Hollywood Studios. The only time the crowd felt overwhelming was at the fireworks. I probably should have skipped those and done something else. But overall, I had a great trip!
Value resorts are perfect for young families and a food court can be awesome. I was amazed by food courts when I was a kid as I couldn't make my mind up 😂 And the heat definitely beat us when we went the first time in 1993. I remember I got dehydration and I felt so tired and sick, it was horrible. The majority of us did as we hadn't antiticipated the level of heat and humidity or experienced it before. We're from Scotland so it's never 90/100° over here haha. My no.1 piece of advice to anyone going for the first time is drink plenty of water!! Enjoy yourself with soda/cocktails/coffee etc but plenty of water in between.
The long wait to get home for the all star resorts was something my friends and I enjoyed actually. We didn't rush to exit the park so we'd miss the biggest rush then enjoy the quiet and cool breezes while we waited for our bus. We didn't have littles with is tho.
We went to WDW in mid august 2022 we had fun but i have never been more stressed for a trip. Before we left for the trip there’s the park and dinning reservations for our group, magic bands not arriving for us in time even though they were ordered about 3 weeks in advance. Once at WDW had to wake up early for grabbing virtual lane and lightening lane reservations. Constantly in the phone even during rides to book the next ride. Going to universal next time.
@15:29 Those look very far from authentic kimono. Real kimono are very expensive, have lots of pieces, and not made from cheap fake silk like that. At best, those are cheap Yukata, but usually, those are made of lighter materials like cotton. You could buy a geisha costume from Spirit and get the same quality as the stuff in that photo.
Virtual lines! Paying extra to "guarantee" you a ride AFTER paying the overpriced one day park entry ticket?? Gone are the days of going to Disneyworld, with pre-purchased park tickets (park hoppers if wanted), and a great day in a park of your choosing. Fast passes were available until sold out. If you wanted to ride a ride, you just waited in line and enjoyed your time, nonetheless. It was all part of the "magic". Not now! All of these reservations, Genie, Genie Plus, paying extra to guarantee you a spot in line are NOTHING but a HUGE money grab for Disney! They disguise it cleverly though. They want for the unsuspecting guest to believe that "they" are trying to help their guests get the most out of their stay. I call BS on this! Once again, it's all about the money! One final point or question! Why hasn't Disney reinvested any of it's billions in opening another theme park, to help spread out the crowds? They've opened more resort space! Why? To keep MORE people on Disney property so that they can stuff even MORE people in to the parks, requiring them to buy all of these "extras", if they want to experience a particular attraction! For those that aren't willing to spend the extras, they most likely go home unhappy and feeling ripped off. Meanwhile, Disney laughs all the way to the bank!
You said it perfectly!!! Too bad but it is true! They took away all the nostalgia rides and changed them to not fun rides!!!! They should be focusing on new rides and a new park. They ruined it so badly I will not go again.
@@meganruchwatercolors7186 They will. I'll make sure that they will focus on making new rides and a new park. You'll go back to Disney again once positive changes are made there.
For toddlers and small kids the value resorts are super immersive and isn’t like any other option at Disney world. I like the other hotel aesthetic for elementary aged kids and up.
The Pop Century will always be my home away from home. Yes the food isn't the greatest but the location is good and the Castmembers are SIMPLY AMAZING.
visit disney slightly before or slightly after a time when park passes are sold out. how do they enforce an early closure? turn your phone off before boarding a fast ride.
Something about Mitsukoshi! I would double-check a lot of the Nintendo items and even snack items. I noticed they had Kirby and AC items that I owned or have seen at places like Boxlunch (which is not necessarily cheaper) but they were selling a Kirby beanie for $35 and I bought mine.... at Target for $15
The free bus transportation to park at non Disney hotels is "one bus at 7am, one at noon, one at closing" lolol. That's not quite what most people have in mind and absolutely unfeasible if you have kids or anyone not at 100% peak health and fitness. If you stay off property you need a car so you won't be saving as much as you hoped.
I completely forgot about the emergency feature on my smart watch. I have it set to text and call emergency contacts if it detects a hard impact. I could have been riding Test Track and my family would have thought I was in a real car accident.
If you try to go to Universal once, you are going to forget about Disney forever. I am not saying that Universal is better. However, being in Universal is way less stressful and way easier to enjoy everything, which ends up with a WAY better experience. Universal's "deluxe" resort's staffs are nicer than Disney's deluxe resort's cast members since last year. If you have already been to Disney world once, I highly suggest you try Universal, half of the Disney price in total (comparing the deluxe resorts only).
Virtual queue tip #1: DONT be on Disney Wi-Fi. Rode Guaridans on opening day with second VQ. On both Guardians and RoR, I’ve never NOT gotten a boarding pass (3/3 GoG and 2/2 RoR.
Just a question to Disney... How are they planning to make Tron dark? We went in January, and the building is outdoor a lot. It is just covered, not totally inside like Space Mountain. Hmm. Things we think of in the shower. LOL!
Just like at Chuck E Cheese. I feel like I am being watched by those creepy giant character. The purple one, the giant bird, all those 5. It's like their eyes follow you.
I signed up for a preview ride on Tron March 12 so I'll get to ride it. I don't count on going season when I return later in the month. But I'll see it in October.
These videos are great but in the same time they really don’t entice me to visit Disney parks in the US. Disney clearly is only about the money and not about customer satisfaction.
They actually DO. The Cast Members who work at Disney actually DO care about customer satisfaction. They would go out of their way to ensure that everyone has a satisfying, yet fun time.
My wife loves going to disney, I'm indifferent, I mean there are only so my times I need my photo taking infront of a plastic castle right? However even I have had to admit that although disney is expensive it was good value. We come from the UK and used to book with the park Hopper, photos, free dining etc and once you were there there wasn't much else you needed to spend. My wife used to plan restaurants and fast passes months in advance which she loved, it extended the holiday. But now the price has gone up, as a family of 5 the dining credits barely cover drinks, you can't get into parks without work, you can't park hop without work, you can't get on rides, you can't pre plan your day as you don't know what you will be able to ride so you don't know where you will be for meals in advance. Its become the place of magic, wonder, small print and terms and conditions. The last few times we have been to florida we have done everything but disney. I've started watching your videos as the family want to go again and I'm trying to find other things to do in disney other than rides. You've done some great videos on this as well as how to navigate the new disney. Thanks!
I don’t know I don’t spend more than $1,000 going to Disney cuz my friend and I go for two days and park hop to all four parks, we stay at a cheap hotel :) it works so nicely 😌
The most terrible part is the cast members are no longer as qualified as before. They used to make your trip amazing and unforgettable. Now they are tending to ruin your vacation. This is not only my opinion, the decline in the quality of the cast member is like a consensus among my family members and friends. ( I actually mentioned this in the comments under multiple DFB videos. The DFB videos are still amazing as usual.)
You’re right. And I get that maybe some aren’t being paid as much as they want, but if that’s the case, I’d suggest find another job. They shouldn’t take their frustrations out on guests. But some CM’s are truly great.
I didn’t want to believe all the things I read about cast members not being *magical* anymore while planning my first trip back since 2019.. but ya.. I had 2+ more MEAN cast members every day. Made me really sad. In Epcot, I bought a drink using cash and I counted wrong and was $1 short. The guy just stood there with his hand out staring at me. And I was so confused and we just stood there staring in silence… I showed him my passport thinking maybe he wanted my ID and he said NO and repeated the amount of the drink and i was like apologizing that I didn’t count right and gave him the difference and he just rolled his eyes and shoved the receipt into my hand. 😅😔
You pay your employees Wal-Mart level wages, maybe you should expect Wal-Mart employee levels of service. Their pay level, frankly, is an insult to the Cast Members that are such a big part of the Magic of Disney--in the latest wage negotiations, Disney was so kind as to offer them 50% off a stay in Galactic Starcruiser--since no one else is staying, and of course employees making barely enough to buy food want to blow 3000$ on a two-night experience that gives their money right back to the company they work for. Maybe Disney should stop spending 10s of millions on yet another bland, unthemed, corporate DVC resort and actually value the Cast Members they talk of so highly--before they go next door to Universal.
@princess When you say it was 2+ every day, that’s it. It really is that frequent. I’m sorry that CM treated you like that, over a tiny, honest mistake. So unnecessary!
If one member of your party is in charge of signing up for Genie+ Lightning Lanes at 7am, and another member of your party is in charge of signing up for virtual queues (like a boarding pass to Cosmic Rewind), is there any chance you'll get assigned conflicting ride times? (The accounts are linked.)
I actually did both when we went. I bought the LL for Cosmic Rewind in case we didn’t get in the queue but we got both. Our times were originally an hour apart but the queue time slowly crept up until they were actually at the same time. We had enough of a window to ride the ride once and get back right in line!
As Disney World grows, the crowds do too. I've taken my family there 3 times. Each time the price doubled from the last time. It's a money pit. For those of us that save for years to go, add another year to your calculations. Also, we used to save money by going during free food times. I saw what they are offering now, it's a waste. We used to use the dinner at the sit downs and get a great experience. Now, you will only get $35 (value stay) for dinner for 4...break out the wallet. Free is just a coupon discount now. I guess Disney wants only those that can pay the steep price to come to the parks. If you have to mortgage your house, you aren't going to be going to the "happiest place on earth" without monthly loan payments.
@Linda McDaniel You truly are a strangely Scrooge type person. Apparently you are not directly employed in the service industry. I believe it is time for more employee input in an industry whose management enjoys limitless ways of keeping their profits high and their frontline workers wages low. WDW will suffer needlessly because they refuse to pay a living wage.
This is WHY the "Magic" is gone. Golden parachute after being fired. Cast Members struggling to eat, pay rent, survive. Not all that easy to smile. I feel almost the same way @ my 28 yr. service industry job at a restaurant. My last visit was 2009 @ DL. 2008 @ WDW. I remember Rebecca at Whispering Canyon Restaurant. Got her 2 yrs. in a row. Serious hook UP tip as she was outstanding!

I miss the Cloudberry Horns in Norway pavilion, and the Earl of Sandwich sandwiches used to be a 10, but are now a 4 for me. Dunno what they did to drop the quality, but it plummeted for me. The limited nature of some of the snacks can definitely be really sad.

You know what pisses me off about Disney in 2023? I grew up in the 80s and 90s and experienced Disney world because it was a childhood wonderland. Disney world circa 2023 is a LGBTQIA...............wonderland and my kids will never get to have that feeling I did back then.

Getting a virtual cue is not that hard. Just have your app open and ready 5 minutes before the q opens. Then count down and start hitting join 2 seconds before 7:00 a.m. I've been able to get a virtual cue every time I've done this.
The one exception would be if you try to get a virtual cue on a weekend. Saturday or Sunday is really hard for Magic Kingdom. And any day that they have extra magic hours. Although you will have three opportunities that day. 7:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m.

It is a shame so I guess they do not care, and Disney dies not give a damn about the magic
It won't last...if you look at the reviews from guest many are subpar. Word is spreading that Disney is now a waste of money. Even the CEO is now worried.
Fools are easily parted from their money.

Going to Disney World for our honeymoon in November. Love these vids!
congrats
@@st4rgirlx_ thank you!! Excited to see WDW for the first time 😊
Congratulations!!!!!
UGH!! So Sad!!
Oh, Walt up there!!!! I will apologize that your magical Disney World has lost the magic!!! They do not get your vision!!!
Jeez, the magic is NOT gone! It's still around, lying dormant in those who want to help Disney change for the better.
How did it go??
@@kittentalons It went well! I was able to ride Tron a day after it opened. Rise of the Resistance didn't break down the day I was at Hollywood Studios. The only time the crowd felt overwhelming was at the fireworks. I probably should have skipped those and done something else. But overall, I had a great trip!
Disney World has gotten too complicated. We’re doing the Disney cruise this year instead
Enjoy
Comparing the value resorts to Holiday Inn is definitely an exaggeration. Holiday Inn rooms are WAY nicer.
Value resorts are perfect for young families and a food court can be awesome. I was amazed by food courts when I was a kid as I couldn't make my mind up 😂
And the heat definitely beat us when we went the first time in 1993.
That's not disturbing at all. It's more inconvenient than disturbing.
The long wait to get home for the all star resorts was something my friends and I enjoyed actually. We didn't rush to exit the park so we'd miss the biggest rush then enjoy the quiet and cool breezes while we waited for our bus. We didn't have littles with is tho.
My Disney trip is coming up be here soon April 19th until the 22nd, can’t wait!!
Was curious if you guys ever cover the military resort ‘Shades of Green,’ or any of the military rates etc. Thank you!
We just stayed there and loved it!
Broadway Bradshaw's did a tour of shade of green.
In summary, you aren't going to ride Tron.
Love this park
For toddlers and small kids the value resorts are super immersive and isn’t like any other option at Disney world. I like the other hotel aesthetic for elementary aged kids and up.
Thank you!!❤
So many better ways to spend that huge amount of money. We are done getting ripped off by Disney.
Hey, Disney DOESN'T rip anyone off!😡
The Pop Century will always be my home away from home.
I noticed they had Kirby and AC items that I owned or have seen at places like Boxlunch (which is not necessarily cheaper) but they were selling a Kirby beanie for $35 and I bought mine.... at Target for $15
I thought this was going to be about the history of monorail fires
Stop IT! LOL!
It’s too dam much work to make it worth while, takes all the fun out of it. No thanks
Shove your "vitural Q", and your apps, sorry Disney you've lost me, I'll spend my money over at Universal or Sea World!!
I didn’t realize it was hard to get the virtual que! I was able to snag my fiancé, niece and I one first thing for Guardians! I’m grateful I did!
LOL!
I think AJ basically said try to go on it at night because otherwise it won’t be dark 🤷🏼♀️
Just like at Chuck E Cheese. I feel like I am being watched by those creepy giant character. The purple one, the giant bird, all those 5. It's like their eyes follow you.
Yes we got a lightening lane pass while on Rise. But it was not good for Rise and we where in line at rope drop. Wife was not happy.
#15 - Low wages for the employees, oh I mean Cast Members.
Well that was depressing but at least we are more prepared. 😵💫
Thanks!
For the desserts... Port Orleans has begnets! You can get a bag of 6 large, fresh ones with powdered sugar and 3 different sauces for $20
They’re so good. $20?
@@tbunnyshy1 $20 is a guesstimate. I don't remember the exact amount

@@suewalton8822 I just can't even agree more! I am totally with you!
Their 7am virtual queue is just to get people to wake up early and start spending money earlier. Sleeping in on your vacation = less money for disney.
It’s also disturbing that cast members aren’t paid a living wage and Bob Chapek was given millions of dollars just to leave
@@lindamcdaniel2419 or Disney could not treat their employees like garbage
@Linda McDaniel You truly are a strangely Scrooge type person. Apparently you are not directly employed in the service industry. I believe it is time for more employee input in an industry whose management enjoys limitless ways of keeping their profits high and their frontline workers wages low. WDW will suffer needlessly because they refuse to pay a living wage.
@@lindamcdaniel2419 true but then, who’s gonna do those jobs?
This is WHY the "Magic" is gone. Golden parachute after being fired. Cast Members struggling to eat, pay rent, survive. Not all that easy to smile. I'm so confused, what exactly is the point of virtual queues? If someone wants to wait 3 hours on line, let them. We all did that before cellphones and we survived. The frustration of phones is something I'm trying to AVOID while on vacation!
Less time in line means more time possibly buying merch or food

The one exception would be if you try to get a virtual cue on a weekend. Saturday or Sunday is really hard for Magic Kingdom. And any day that they have extra magic hours. Although you will have three opportunities that day. 7:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m.
And if you can't get a virtual cue, you can always buy a lightning Lane
