But now I consciously don't want to associate with a woman who has a Kelly and a Birkin. I have no interest in spending $40k on a bag (a piece of leather + labor = up to $1000) Imagine spending $39k on this brand. Totally unnecessary.
Your opinions are invaluable. I love designer bags, but they MUST be reasonably priced and functional. I went to buy a LV Neverfull and the quality had completely changed from prior years, thus it looked cheap and way too fragile. Instead, I purchased another style of LV bags for my daughters and me. They were more expensive; however, they were much better made and functional. If I am going to spend my hard-earned money on designer clothes and accessories, then they have to be stylish, functional, and original design, so as to warrant their price.

Hello there. Hope you’re doing great! And I love your videos! About over 20 years ago, I used to go to thrift shops a lot and I came across a vintage black lambskin classic channel bag. It’s the smaller size just under the size of an iPad. It’s in really great condition. Now I’m interested in selling it, but not sure how to go about it and sell it for a good fair price. I don’t have any paperwork. I only have the bag with the gold/leather shoulder strap. Any suggestions on checking the authenticity and value for this bag would be really appreciated. My ex-boyfriend bought my saddle bag over 20 years ago. The price point was so much less than today of course. An eccentric John Galliano creation but one thing about the bag, it is extremely well made. Not a rip, tear, anywhere and the hardware in perfect tack. I’m speaking of the vintage bag that I have not sure about the newer made bags

However it is not raffia, it is actually cotton canvas.☺️ it is a really chic bag that really gives a quite luxury and chic vibe. The downside l’ve found is that the strap is unadjustable and that it does not come in larger sizes.
I can’t afford the Pharrell leather speedy, but if I were in the market for a bag in that price range, I would buy it. For me, it fits my esthetic more than some high priced but dressy bags. I really like those speedys!
Hey! Yes they are expensive. As with anything though if they suit your style and you love them, who cares what I or anyone else thinks. I know some people would totally rock the leather Speedy bags and the quality of them looks great - I just have a preference to the other more low-key leather speedy.
Yessss! I’m a LV lover all the way but I when I was in NYC I tried on the 50 in leather. It was in the large monogram leather. But when she told me the price I was like nope give me the East west capucines please. That matte black East west capucines is my new favorite! 😍

I watched a Tanner Leatherstein vlog whereby he took apart a Chanel wallet in Caviar leather, retailing for $1200. He determined that the wallet, including the quality of the leather, labor costs and hardware to be worth $90 in total. He went on to say that the caviar leather had such a thick plasticky gross coating covering the midrange leather, he actually equated it to basketball leather. It turned me right off Chanel Caviar leather to be honest. Buyer beware. 😏

There are some that are very blatantly obvious. If you like the classic flap / have one they are lovely bags and this is just my opinion. Go buy what you love.

I was really close to buying the mini saddle. Not gonna lie, i still want it. But i just cant get past spending $6k aud on a bag that wont fit my phone. I was considering the larger size but what turned me off was the top handle strap. Im so glad u called that out. It looks strange.
I am shocked about the price of Rive Gauche. I got the one which you have but with the black handle and at that time I got it for £850. Still a lot for a canvas bag, but more affordable as I couldn't justify the Dior Book tote for £2.5 k. I love my Rive Gauche and it has hold up very well, but I absolutely agree with you, I would NEVER go for anything more than the price I paid for it. I feel designers don't want 'normal' people to have their pieces anymore and sadly the price increases in the last few months have totally put me off buying any expensive designer bag anymore. I am more and more drawn towards low key designers e.g., Demellier, Strathberry, APC, etc.
The Chanel classic flap is a beautiful bag, but yes, it's horribly overpriced and for most people, completely impractical. Even at the bare minimum, I couldn't get much in it as I have to carry an inhaler with me at all times. I realize it's an iconic style, but perhaps it needs to be redesigned for modern times--and the price lowered! Your caramel colored one is gorgeous!
Ah yes the Polene Neuf also looks slightly similar to the Fendi First but I do find the bag hard to get into depending on the size. Fendi first doesn’t have that issue as much

But I’m still carrying that bag. I’m glad I bought it when I did. I would love a Chanel flap bag. But I can’t see spending the prices they want for one. I would rather have an older version. I would never buy that price for a nylon bag. That’s ridiculous.

I have a few dupes, and the one I like the most is the Fendi First. Aside from having a lovely design, it is easy to access and can hold a lot.
I have both the Fendi first and the Saddle and I love them both very much 😅
It’s funny that those two I would never buy just because of their structure I feel like you can’t fit much. My oldest daughter loves though the saddle

I just bought (4 days ago) a small flap bag with sequins and it was $6,900, the mini was $4,600. Still very expensive but nowhere near a medium flap
