I'm still riding my 2015 grom, saved me a fortune on gas. I heard new ones have even better mpg. I've taken my grom on 55 highways and it can be scary because the wind can push you off the road 😂 one time I accidentally got onto a freeway and luckily was behind a big truck and I think because of the wind bubble I was able to maintain a speed of 70 mph which is normally not possible!
Even on my 47hp Ninja 300, going into an aerodynamic tuck makes a noticeable difference. Due to the tinyness of the Grom relative to the height of the person riding it, it's an aerodynamic nightmare- especially having under 10HP! If you 'tuck', that Grom will go substantially faster! Aero drag slows your higher speeds much more than weight does. I love your bike, and I plan on getting the new Grom. My goal is to consistently hit 75mph with stock-sized engine (bolt on performance parts), and full tuck behind Aero windscreen and a few other Aero enhancements. Easily achievable! 150+ MPG can be so fun!

I agree, when I tuck down low behind the bars my grom accelerates another 4-5 miles per hour. So if I'm pegged out doing 52ish then I tuck it jumps up to 57-58ish lol, I dont do it that often but its fun to do every now and again lol

I like how someone is finally talking about MPG on motorcycles! It's one of the reasons I bought my ninja 300, years ago (still lovin it daily). It's a main reasons for having the gutless, clown-like Grom at the top of my wish list! Smiles Per Gallon is a real measurement, and King Grommie rules that country!
I live in California and I haven't seen gas that cheap in 5 years $3.25 is the lowest here. Motor swap to a zs190 direct replacement will get you in the 80mph. Sound like your car had a bad clutch not the gears the clutch is way it grinds in 1andR . It looks like you got on a freeway not a high way there about 40mph difference. Unbelievable how low that gas prices I know this videos like a while back but cash in California. The gas prices are like seven dollars a gallon. Thank God they’re dropping. I have a Boom Vader. I’m 55, riding for 40 yrs. the Groms were/are hard to get. I didn’t want to buy a used one but when they’re mass available then I’ll pick me up a legit Grom, but it’s 70 miles per gallon on a Vader, and my electric scooter getting 62 miles on a charge my stand up kick scooter, high-powered, it’s fun to have alternative forms of transportation. I have an SUV Honda in the wagon Honda fit, and the gas prices have just made me not want to drive at all even though they get good gas, mileage the grom awesome
I'm starting to see more and more groms come up and around where I live in Florida, it's making me want to actually go out and save up money for one. But of course have a car because it rains a lot here.
I'm in Broward county, just bought a 2018 125A, with only 882 on the ODO, stock condition (IOW, no one has screwed it up), showroom beautiful. Today I took it to my motorcycle club meeting - all the other guys have "baggers"/Harleys - hee hee!!!!!!
Who cares who passes you and who is not. You know you are on small bike that can't compare to the big ones. If you are on highway your goal is to go from point A to point B and that is all that matters. Plus for sure you are going to have fun.
They are the same with that, both can easily do that. Only thing better is probably the monkey has better tires for off roading, but both bikes can easily do it

For you honda grom and for your sister honda monkey... so you guys can have the best of both worlds. I wish i had a grom and a monkey! Stay tuned on my channel for more videos!!
The Grom (2nd generation anyways) has a more modern look and the monkey has that funky-monkey retro look. It's based on the Grom, therefore very similar riding, but the funky-monkey has more metal and chrome so it weighs a few pounds more. Whatever styling you two prefer, basically! I hope you two got/are getting what you like and enjoying them!🙂 If you haven't got them yet, you might try waiting (another month or two) for the new 2022 Grom. (No new Monkey, though). There are many improvements, especially another gear in the transmission, better gauge cluster, and proper oil filter. Although I personally don't find it to be as cool looking, that can be 'fixed'. Same with the emissions equipment.😉

Tuck def makes a difference. I can do 50 easy on my kp mini but getting to 60 is a little slow. If I tuck I can get there pretty quick.
