Are you using are you using lidless wall instead of spirit monarch because you need less points into strength? Is it worth it to lose the extra +1 to all skills?
I always went with the thought that the saved strength worked out to more Mana but to be honest never really crunched exact numbers lol. But at this moment I’d say yes, totally worth! Sorry for the delayed response, appreciate you watching homie!
Yeah but if you have a 2/20 amulet it's far superior to run Frostburn so Vipermagi still wins. CTA buff staff would not be as good as just having a +9 ES memory in the cube for prebuff.
I rock hoto enigma spirit frostburn 2x sojs arachs . War travs a 2 20fcr amulet and off hand cta with spirit. In my merc infinity / fortitude / eth Andy . What should I change ? I feel like I can clear anything but I never tried this build.
@@AfroDominus if your having good clear speed and you’re happy with what you got I’d say don’t change anything! But if you wanted to, always try to hit that 105 FCR for max teleports/cast speed. Also, Sandstorm Treks (eth if possible) are solid for the strength points that you can save your hard points on and put into more mana for the energy shield! Merc with insight will help keep your mana up if you make/wield a self infinity in a Scythe as well! Happy monster slayin homie 🤙
Nice vid! Using a Prayer merc with Cure was a huge bump! I play single player so I’m a bit limited but I’ve been playing for a long while now and have some good options. I match all of your gear except I’ve been using a 2/20 amulet, 1 SOJ, 1 FCR w/ high mana, and frost burns. Sometimes I alternate between treks and trace for MF. I don’t have an Anni yes either… boo! One major difference is that I only have 2 light skillers! So I’ve jammed the leftover inventory space with MF/utility charms. I end up 2900 mana, 225% mf, and 3300 nova damage. I think I got pretty good rolls on the amulet. 2/20/ +9 rep life / 16 mana/ 8% Regen mana / 3 DR. Thanks for the vid and ideas!
Great vid. The only thing I disagree with is your comment on the ormus robe. A good rolled ormus with a 5/5 light facet paired with a 10 fcr str res ring gives significantly more DMG than a viper magi. Even if you have to swap an soj for a fcr ring. Especially vs light immunes since immunes that are affected by a sunder charm only take -16 res from conviction aura and only flat -res like facets, griffon's and infy have full effect on them. Not to mention the massive +3 nova and 15% light skill DMG (which is a multiplier)
I will try, as I’m not entirely sure how to give you the exact information you’re looking for. I use “fast cast” which is an option in controls to assign a skill to a hotkey instead of having to click the mouse incessantly! It’s super useful! For my Nova Sorc I use Z for Energy Shield, X for Telekenesis, V for Nova, B and N for CTA shouts, S for static field, D for (defense) Frozen Armor, H for town portals (home) and E for Teleport! If you have any other questions let me know, and thanks for watching!
@@thatdudewillyd I should have worded my question better, my bad. I appreciate you taking the time/effort to respond. Essentially I was asking what is the process/keyboard clicks when doing runs. I.e. you WP to your desired location, pop CTA shouts (click B and N on keyboard), pop energy shield (click Z on keyboard), then move your mouse curser to the direction you want to teleport and click E on your keyboard? Then group enemies, pop static field (click S on the keyboard), then kill them with Nova (click B on keyboard). So you're not casting spells with right or left click on the mouse? apologies if these seems like a noob/weird question. just looking to get more knowledgeable on the process/flow.
Sandstorm trek boots are a terrible choice. You'd only need 50 strength otherwise, which means a different pair of boots is giving you +41 to energy. The BIS is caster boots, they increase maximum mana and can roll some very useful mods including poison mitigation. Use Splendor instead of lidless to perform battle orders.
@@babounda86 No one other than you has ever given a fuck about cyclone armor charges lol. It's not even remotely relevant. Energy Shield already absorbs the elemental damage.
as somebody who really didnt want to wear viper magi, and prefered ormus robe, magi is much more comfortable even if u have a 2/20 ammy with ormus.the dmg isnt noticable and the loss of the res of v magi is not worth it
The ghost lightning guys in hell act 5 one shot my nova sorc of a group of them connect on me at once... Do I stack more light resist or do I have to get light skill charms to increase energy shield?
Yup, those guys are a pain always! In all honesty I typically just reload a fresh game name to try and despawn the buggers! But level 40 Energy shield is what you'd want to push to truly negate the damage. I've never gone this high with the energy shield myself, so I can't speak on it too much unfortunately! Any other questions let me know! And thanks for watching!!
I always hear of the weak boss damage vs lightning or blizz but it looks like you melted diablo pretty quickly. My current ladder sorc is lightning but I'm thinking of going nova so I don't need to aim so much lol.
haha yep! combination of forgetting/not caring/being lazy lol. between all the giveaways, HC and SC gameplay and other nonsense I just kinda get busy i suppose! Thanks for watching though!!
I don't understand. Why do I need energy shield if I'm building a nova sorceress? I have a 2nd act merc with infinity, dream and chains of honor. I'm using the unique Diadem with a lightning facet, unique eldrich orb with a lightning facet, crack of the heavens (-74), vipermagi with a lightning facet, spiderweb sash, spirit shield (monarch - 34 FCR), magefist, kathos wedding and raven frost rings, amulet - 3 to lightning skills with +11 better chance, 3 grand charms +1 to lightning skills, yellow battle boots dropped from Baal - 30 faster run walk, lightning res +40, fire res +35 and +23 better chance. Secondary weapon and shield are Call to Arms and Phoenix. Skill tree is concentrated on static field, nova, charged bolt, lightning, chain lightning and lightning mastery. One click on telekinesis, one click on teleport, one click on frozen armor and one click on warmth. Yes, my mana's gone after 10-12 nova flashes but trust me I don't need more as enemies on the screen are also gone!
Speccing into 2 offensive builds is never optimal but obviously with high end gear you're going to dominate p1 anyway. An ideally built Nova/Energy Shield Sorc is going to have the same offensive output, but be 100x better in terms of survivability and quality of life. Mine doesn't run out of mana, or life for that matter. Self wielding Infinity allows you to have a merc that wields insight, giving you essentially unlimited mana, which is essentially your life pool as an energy shield build. Not to mention an act 2 Prayer Merc with Cure/Insight is going to have triple the healing thanks to the way the mechanics work. Given you still receive a small amount of damage to your health pool, the regen tops it up way faster then it can go down. The Cure Aura also vastly reduces curse and poison duration, which was really the only Achilles heal of the Energy Shield build.
@@giovannicatamo6348 I understand what you're saying and I know that as I'm playing since year 2000. Playing with self infinity completely ruins the fun for me as its not meant for a sorceress. I love orbs, jared stones, etc with different shields. As I wrote down I run out of mana but deal with enemies very quickly. Now imagine if I had the torch from Tristram event, Stone of Jordans and Annihilus as I do not have them (I've recently started playing again the resurrected game). That's not true it doesn't all come from the conviction aura, -5% resistances are absolutely massive! That's the main reason why you wear the infinity yourself in the first place. OMG!
