Tools & Parts Used:
1.10mm socket
2.5/8 spark plug socket
3.flat screw driver
4.4 ngk spark plug
5.3/8 ratchet and 6 inches extension
6.spark plug holder
Thank you for the video. First time handling the spark plugs. Made it super easy and fast, not to mention saving me over 200 hundred at the mechanic!
Glad it helped
Thanks. You just saved me $250🙃🤑
I always check the gap, and coat plugs with electric grease, at the contacts as well as all electrical contact points. An ounce of protection, is worth a pound of headaches.
So True, does anyone still use anti seize on the plug treads anymore or am I just old school ? Btw thanks for the video
Hi man, but this recomend for hyundai accent 2017? the iridium is 0.40 .. pre gap size is 0.32
u can follow the recommended gap but this time ill just go with the pre gap spark plug no adjustment anymore it works fine no problem at all
Thank you so much ! Good Job !
You are welcome!
Is a torque wrench not necessary? How do you know how tight to turn the spark plug?
experience
What is the recommended interval for changing the spark plugs? My accent is 48K thanks
some spark plug last 20k 25k 35k it depends om spark plug you are using this ngk spark plug has 25k life i think
If you don't have a turbo they can last over 100k miles.
@@asianmechanicguy6483 i do belive my accent 2017 is over due for a spark plug/ coil replacement. Just upgraded to full synthetic oil and still feel a slight tug from the engine when giving gas. Similar to when a BMW has a faulty coil/spark plug..
The plugs that came with your new car should last 160,000km
Super informative. Great video 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Hi body
Did you notice any diffrent from upgrading from Laser Iridium to Ruthenium HX ?
sorry bro its a customer car and customer parts and i never own hyundai car so honestly no idea
I just did mine on a 2017 Hyundai accent, the dealer wanted $300 to do them so I got the plugs for $90 original NGK plugs. Changing them took about 20 minuits and was very easy to do.
im glad u did it
The issue is with the tools I guess
Folks don't fight with the connectors on the coil backs...leave them and be careful pulling them out! Sonata that I have is the same. Also, do this on a cold engine or you might gall the aluminum head.
Thanks for your video
Our pleasure!
hey where’d you get that spark plug holder?
its from mazda protege 5 spark plug wire boot i think
Gracias!
The spark plug socket should work just fine as a holder.
my socket rubber is worn and im worried my spark plug will slip out of it so i use my trusty spark plug rubber boot from my mazda
What did you gap them at?
its a pregap spark plug
@@asianmechanicguy6483 nice, do u happen to know what the gap would be if one doesnt have pre gap?
from my expereince we dont gap sparkplug like i said its alrerady pre gap meaning its ready to install no need to gap it u might even damage the plug by gapping it
@@asianmechanicguy6483 from my experience ive noticed that pregapped sparks sometimes are off
@@slaptwin7867 well you can gapped it if its off and ur not satisfied on it but as for us we dont gap spark plug that much
👏👏👏👏👏👏
thank you
Dudes hands are hella sweaty
its middle of summer
@@asianmechanicguy6483 no need to explain. Thanks for tips sweat means u working
