The 8th Shogun, Tokugawa Yoshimune, known as the "Abarenbo Shogun." Despite being renowned as a wise ruler, Yoshimune leaves Edo Castle and joins forces with a young samurai, Tokuda Shinnosuke, embarking on various investigations. Confronting villains who feign innocence, he declares, "Have you forgotten my face!?" revealing the true identity of the "Abarenbo Shogun" and dispensing justice with his unparalleled sword skills.
Since its inception in 1978, the 'Abarenbo Shogun' series has captured the hearts of the nation with its enduring popularity over 25 years. At the core of its success is the charismatic performance of the mega-star Ken Matsudaira, portraying the spirited and refreshing character of Yoshimune. The series, known for its historical setting, also seamlessly incorporates elements of a heartwarming home drama. The lively ensemble includes 'Sub-chan,' played by Saburo Kitajima, who doubles as the head of the 'Team Mei' and his wife O-Sai (Masumi Harukawa), singing the theme song. Yoshimune's trusted confidant, Ooka Echizen-no-Kami, is portrayed by Tadashi Yokouchi. Love it, wish my mother was still living she was Japanese born in 1932 and I was born in Tokyo Japan in 1956,I watched the samurai movies from the 50s-60s with her...I understand the language and customs fluently💖💖I so live this series💖

因みに、1:40このお庭番の朝加真由美さんは元アイドルの方で若い頃は綺麗な方でした。
お庭番の才蔵（荒木しげる）も美男子なお庭番でございます。
14:00の女優さんは津島要さん。あまり有名ではなかったですが、ハッキリした顔立ちで石原真理子を彷彿とさせます。
時代劇は美女や美男子が良く登場するのも見所のひとつですね。特に、おまちちゃん可愛い(*^_^*)
