What’s poppin, Variants? It’s me MT and welcome back to the HS Show! I cannot tell you how much I LOVED that dang Loki finale! I truly could not imagine a more fitting ending for a reformed god who has coveted a throne all of his life. Seeing Loki’s transition from an agent of chaos and death to a defender of order and life has been one of the most rewarding journeys in the MCU…especially getting to see that incredible imagery of Loki converting the Sacred Timeline from an unholy Halo powered by the illusion of choice to a beautiful, free growing tree of infinite possibilities. Today we’re going to break down the science behind Loki’s ascent to his cosmic throne and how the green glow of the MCU’s new Multiverse Tree relates to the Green Time Infinity Stone! Let’s get into it, Nerd Gang!
Alright so, one of the things I want to address first is whether or not the Yggdrasil that we see Loki create in the Season 2 finale is the same exact Yggdrasil that we were introduced to in the first Thor movie.

I think that very likely the world tree and timeline tree are an example of microcosm and macrocosm, or as above so below. Every branch of Lokis timeline tree contains a world tree. This may in fact be the natural state of the multiverse, and Loki was fated to hold it together. From the perception of everyone inside the timeline he always has.
I have always liked this channel out of the bunch that covers this kind of “nerd” content. However, after you made the decision to pick up MT, you guys are number one!
Pure Imagination, the writers of mcu thinking differently :P
"real life scientific concept of dark matter" ...actualy more like "real life made up theoretical concept of dark matter, which actually has nothig or few of realistic" (which can be said of anything like big bang, gravity and any pseudo scientific cr** used to explain things which usually has not explanation, or not an explanatyion that people (is supposed) to know
I really hope this isn’t the last we see of Loki. He quickly became the most compelling character in the MCU.
He made them millions of dollars and they’re bringing back iron man. Loki will be back
I hope it is this is the perfect ending to his character arc and they shouldn't ruin it by bringing him back otherwise all of this is meaningless in my honest opinion just leave it as it is and let fans feel upset that Loki never got to see Thor again this all contributes to what a beautiful and memorable ending episode 6 was
@@ImD4vd I hope we don’t see Thor again if they’re going to make another movie like his last one. It was like on long incredibly unfunny SNL skit. I do agree with you though.
@@cotati76 i agree i Didn’t like Love & thunder very much either because of its comedic nature i like when marvel is more serious and mature like Loki, Secret invasion or any other title that isn’t She-hulk god that show was horrible i still have nightmares till this day 😖 however thor is a little complicated he has to return he kinda has a kid now 😂
Agreed.
I hope Thor finds out about this somehow. I want to see his reaction to Loki being the one who saved the multiverse.
I met him this weekend, I will tell you.
Yesss
I really didn’t care much for Loki until I saw Season 1. Such a great show. The dynamics and character development was amazing. The writing was near perfect . Loki is one of my favorites now .
Yessss same I didn't really watch marvels or loki or anything like that a lot, but the series really changed my mind lol
Mobius Season1: “Loki, god of space. That would be a nice feather in your cap.”
“Puny god,” - Hulk 2012
11 years later
Loki becomes Cosmic god holding Hulk’s universe(and everyone else’s universe) together
Y’all just don’t understand: MT’s breakdowns are on a completely different level!
Aww thanks! :)
@@MasterTainmentI agree keep it up
@@MasterTainment I went in thinking the theory is all a huge reach, but more you explain, the more I believe it. Amazing job with all the theorizing and the evidence to back it up.
He’s the best theorist out there, has the funnest ones, and he rarely takes from anyone like New Rockstars does. That’s what makes him the 🐐
@@MasterTainmentSeriously man I missed you at the other channel but I’m so glad we have you on here.
I felt like the gold and black was visually meant to look like Kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery with gold to 'celebrate the flaws and misteps of life' and 'treats breakage and repair as part of ones history, rather than something to disguise'. Thats what the shows been about, Loki using his flaws to do better (like that plan to make Brad talk), and whats Loki if not the biggest flaw in HWR plan (maybe), and if not for those flaws hed never of ended up on that throne. HWR could have been repairing the citadel with a gold looking substance to hold it together as it got older. Just general repair for him, but visually supposed to invoke something else
And Mobius told him he dealt with his burdens with 'scar tissue', which is essentially what the gold in Kintsugi pottery is. Its like he made a throne of scar tissue to help him with his burden.
I got the vibe that he was the one that had the gold cover the broken throne, and his actual in character reason being a sort of ironic thing. Like, he's finally getting his golden throne, but its battered and alone at the end of time, and he puts the gold on it to remind himself what truly sitting in a throne means.
Imagine if in secret wars, the theory that has been spreading online with each character representing an infinity stone, in order to reset the timelines and do the soft reboot, the 6 characters end up "creating" the big bang that is mentioned by Wong
Bro this is brilliant theory
At first I didn't notice that the roots of Loki's new Cosmic Tree are green and thus time-stone related, while the branches start out increasingly darker green but then blossom into fruit which is purple and thus power-stone related. This is Loki "rewriting the story", making heroes of many people by giving them power with his god-like imagination.
The thing is, he also brings everyone and everything back as it was. Which means the timeline of the TVA creation still exists, with the possibility of the War of Kangs now that Loki has accommodated the actually NOT "infinitely expanding" Multiverse, because he had to make the hard choices of which universes he had to prune so he could give life to the ones that remained. Loki's power to protect all of us only extends so far, and this is part of his burden.
Loki went form villain, to the big bad of Avengers 1, to redeemable villain, to antihero, finally to hero. 14 years of development.
If green energy represents gravity and not just time, that would also explain the Hulk and She-Hulk's green transformations that completely defy mass conservation- because their bodies are converting the gravitational energy around them into mass, giving them their green hued skin and super-strength provided by their manipulation of mass itself.
nice catch
I'll do you one better... How is Gamora?
@@shunonigiri2710I'll do you one better....who is Gamora?
@@nizukaid3389 when the hell's "Gamora"?
I think the green just represents Loki's powers. When him and Sylvie enchant the color is green. If they were wanting to use color to represent abilities their enchantment should be yellow or gold. The gold throne definitely enhanced his ability and I don't think he could have accomplished without it.
Frigga’s magic was green as well.
MT at it again! I missed him so much for such a long time and I’ll never stop thanking Paul for bringing him on. He has the best/funnest theories on RUclips, also super smart, and that’s just a fact. Can’t wait for that next Rick and Morty video next because that episode might have been one of my favorites ever. Yet I know you all have been VERY BUSY. Thanks again.
Really enjoy MT’s breakdown. I shall refer to him as He Who Explains Everything 😂
Hahaha best comment and I agree!
He who explains has a nice ring to it
Loki’s transformation was phenomenal! Love this show and your breakdowns, Paul and MT!
I like how even when the infinity stones aren’t featured in anything anymore, their power and impact and meaning is still connected to the multiverse saga. And did anyone else notice Loki’s signature move being that he quickly flips his head and torso back up from whenever his facing down? Loki is by far one of the best characters that has gotten the best development, besides rocket, in the MCU. Much like Missy in Doctor who
Life is born of chaos, i took his putting energy into the dying timelines (entropic death) as putting his chaos magic into them to respark life. It was why i found the ending so ironic; a being of chaos being a keeper of order forever more. Though i also thought the tree was more representative of the Tree of Life (celtic) as opposed to the Nordic version
Homeostasis, yes
I have a theory, simply because Loki’s power is green very much like the time stone. He also has the power of the time stone.
Wanda has red powers similar to the reality stone. She also has the powers of the reality stone.
So my theory goes that end of secret wars. 6 very powerful hero’s will have to give the lives or give the power to restart the multiverse. And in a massive explosion or something like that these hero’s power or life force will be transformed into 6 new infinity stones that are then sent hurtling across the universe/universes. That’s the Big Bang that restarts the mcu.
I don’t know may be possible.
Reality - Wanda
Time - Loki
Mind - Dr Strange
Power - Agatha
Soul - Shang chi ?
Space - Carol
Just a guess? Who knows, but seems mcu don't want to bring infinity stuff into this anymore.
Damn broski! Great video! 👏🏾
MT, thank you for giving this all so much thought and laying it out for us. Great theory/explanation/video.
Thank YOU for watching!
@@MasterTainment We thank you for the video and you thank us for watching. Does that count as an ouroborus? 🤔
MT, your theories are without a doubt the best out there. I couldn't wait to hear your take on the finale episode!
There are so many hidden eggs in the first Thor movie. The same energy that impacts Loki is the same energy that surrounded Odin in his sleeping chrysalis. Thor also references the tree that connects all universes and planets.
MT has the most in-depth explanations. I love listening to them. Maybe two or three times to really get it.
I really like MT as an addition to the channel. I wasnt a fan of Jared, but MT has his shit on lock with these indepth videos
And this is why I subscribed. Well done MT. Masterful episode. Thank you for your mind and effort. 🙏🏼
Thanks for virtually Cleveland steaming us all with your vast knowledge, Mr. MT.
Your time & efforts are sincerely appreciated - 🤘 & best wishes
🤠
What happened with OB being the main villain?! 😂
Another awesome educational video, MT!
MT is a delight - really liked the finale. Especially Lokis costume and expression at the end. Additionally, I would have liked Sylvie and Loki working together in the end. Lokis fear of being alone and her fear of loosing her freedom.
Season 2 of Loki was incredible, love your videos so much!
Love all of this, again I can't say how happy I am to hear MT.
The 2 best voices in Geek RUclips on this platform. Paul and MT could soothe a raging bull.
I dig listening to your videos and break downs, keep up the good work!
Anyone else enjoying MT, glad he’s getting his time to shine, keep cranking out the content!
Not really his energy is awful make the video boring, just reading a Script.
Been waiting for this drop!
This is sublime, bravo MT!
Thank you! :)
Great video MT! 👏🏾
MT you are still killing it. The best videos over there and now the best videos here.
Amazing breakdown. A+ yay MT!
Was waiting for this!
Love your commentary man thanks ❤❤❤❤❤
Great job MT!😊
Great video MT! Keep up the great work
Wow, absolutely love these detailed nitty gritty videos!
This is such a cool analysis MT!!! I didn’t see the golden energy/mind connections until this video.
This video was awesome and explained so much.
Marvel should have released a video like this long ago to explain things so we can understand how they all connect, as it would show the brilliance of the story design and all the overlapping.
You are amazingly thorough MT. Love your passion and imagination.
MT you are my fav, heavy spoilers is quickly becoming my go to
You nailed it MT. 👏
You are blowing my mind right now!
Always so nice to here your fantastic voice, MT. I really appreciate your passion for Marvel because it is so sincere. Great video!
Great amazing job explaining it
Bro ive been waiting for MT's breakdown for this episode FOREVER!
You're the best, MT!
Love you MT!!
Wow MT this is a really smart breakdown! Well done
👏 the analysis is 🔥 MT. Well done.
Dang MT you the breakdown goat...😊
Thanks for the video! I loved this season of Loki.
Really enjoying MT's team up with the channel.
Love you theories MT
Thank you Paul!
You are always impressive but this is mind blowing. It’s a brilliant theory that you explained succinctly and energetically. Im over here going “woooow 🤯”
Thanks MT very insightful
excellent show after a long time, the wait was totally worth it
MT....I appreciate you. I didn't think this finale could get any better and you made it possible.
Follow the colors.
Wow good deep explanation. These shows are not only entertaining but educational too.
MT is cool but Marvel isn’t putting this much thought or eater eggs in their products anymore. Speculating does the writers job in a way. We can speculate things they never planned and in retrospect they just say , “Yep. That’s the way we planned it .”
I implore you to actually listen to the science talk in most of the MCU films because if you do, you'd realize that Marvel has been thinking this hard since Iron Man 2.
@@MasterTainmentur a goat bro even if you speculate too hard sometimes idec it adds to the content overall n makes it more interesting
I had a similar thought, but when he pointed out the parts about the Mind energy, that really put into perspective that there is elements that Marvel did think about, but others that weren't. I thought this was a reach at first but he made some great points.
Yes, everything MT just said was coincidence. 10 years of hard coincidences.
happy mt part of the team love his explaining way back from Rockstars
Loki grew up with the same stories Thor did, so he likely had that tree structure in his head when attempting to bind the multiverse together, so he just made a tree because it made the most sense to him
MT!!!!!!!!!!! We missed u bro!
Just saw season 2 final. And wow! What a caracter arc. Loki finaly get the throne he pursued through the marvel universe, and it's a bigger burden then I ever could imagen. Well done, sir! WELL DONE! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Another banger from MB.
My brain hurts now, but always very much MT doing this kind of explainer.
Good stuff.
Loki was great! .. .. nice fun theories ..
MT you are the best thing to happen to this channel
Well...Loki is literally the only reason to keep MCU in business now just like as he holding the Multiverse intact
What a finale episode!! it feels like loki season 2 episode 6 should be the finale movie/episode of all marvel series or movies. that's how i felt after i watched the show. Great job to Tom and the cast, specially the director and cast of the series. Wow!!!!
Absolutely love these nerdy science videos
Great breakdown, and who could tell me a decade from now you'll love Loki as an individual God 😢😂
There goes my Yggdrasil theory! Great breakdown!
Loki was such a good show
Deep... I like it 👍
YO MT!!! Starting to sound like the comic nerd variant of Neil Degrass Tyson. 👍
MT you are genius!
Putting the science into science fiction! Good job, very entertaining.
Love the Loki tv show! Can't wait for season 3
Thanks for breaking it down in layman terms so I can understand.
The MT Theory is super impressive, it makes sense every single time.
This is such an interesting theory and I love it
I remember seeing a yt short (starting off bad over here) talking about the ‘7th infinity stone’, in which the creator of the infinity stones actually imbued their powers into the 7, and split them across different universes, the 7th landing on its own and infecting the universe with the creator of it basically being the center of a hive mind. Admittedly, it’s from a comic, so it may not line up with the MCU, but it’s something I learned ages ago and still remember
MT. I love your insight into all things nerd. Can you do us a favor? Stand up and smile when you do your voice over. Doing so will add so much energy and warmth to your voice.
Man MT and his wild theories😂 your mind is amazing
I do like it when you bring sciencey theories into the MCU. I don't think "Green Energy = Gravity" works completely (What about Gamma, which is also depicted as green in the MCU or Graviton's powers in AoS not being green?), but it's an interesting idea. Clearly there has been color coding going on, which may or may not fit with depictions in the comics, since the MCU started. It would be nice if there was one unifying theory, but I have a feeling this color coding has grown organically from film to film and there have been revisions to any official coding that may exhist bts. Keep those theories coming, MT!
If enough gamma radiation is contained and compressed, would that energy not be converted into matter via general relativity?
I agree that there was never a plan. Because in Avengers the mind stone is in a blue casement. There would be no point to that if they wanted the mind stone to be obvious to viewers to differentiate from the space stone. But I think green being gravity powers doesn't swing. I'd say its manipulation. Like loki's illusions are manipulation of light, telekinesis is manipulation of objects, loki did manipulation of shadows, enchantment I'm not sure because that seems to be more mind powers. But could be manipulation of the synapses to the brain like Sylvie inferred in s1. Who knows magic lore is never consistent!
Yeah the theories they have on the colors are just genuine coincidence, the space stone was basically just a cosmic cube which has always been blueish white
here's the thing about the idea of Loki creating The World Tree(no, I'm not gonna spell it lol): That whole event, the season2 finale, happened outside of time itself. So... Loki could well have created the tree referenced in Thor and indeed all of Norse mythology in the MCU because once Loki organized the timelines in this fashion, they would have effectively ALWAYS been organized in this manner.
This is the best series I have ever watched period.
Hey Paul any chance of a Rebel Moon trailer breakdown and I would love to hear your and Greg’s thoughts on it on this weeks podcast! Love the vids keep killing it brother 👊🏽
gonna talk about it on the podcast definitely
@@heavyspoilers YESSS WOOO
Also just the fact that visually this series looked Fantastic. And the color palette of the final episode looked better than most movies marvel has put out for years
I agree!! One the best live action stories the mcu has ever brought to life.
MT is so articulate! I wish I could have him say some deep shit at my eulogy like Huey did in the boondocks!
