      Nobody is asking WHY He Who Remains wants to be free....i have a theory and goes like this....
      He Who Remains wants control of the mutiverse,he did say he was bored of this universe writing the same story over and over.....he set up the TVA to find and capture the strongest Loki variant who could take his place (our Loki) and all the other variants were tossed aside to the Void and the TVA collected Infinity Stones specifically time stones....Doctor Strange still wears the Eye of Agamoto.....WHY?.....it's not lost on me that all the heroes who can manipulate time have been affected Steven Strange,Wanda,and Loki and they can no longer stop He Who Remains leaving him free to take over all the other Kang variants through timeslipping.....remember all of this takes place in our universe the universe HE wrote and paved the path for everybody to walk down and once he pulls his Agent Smith he's coming for Loki and that throne and control of the multiverse itself giving him infinite stories to write

    I think one of the confusions is that they refer to it as the "Sacred Timeline" in a singular manner. But based on all they've shown us, the sacred timeline is really a woven rope of multiple universes/timelines that do not intersect or interfere with each other. It isn't a single universe that He Who Remains was overseeing.

    • @proximashining776
      @proximashining776 10 месяцев назад +9

      My guess is that they're different universes but He Who Remains forced them to follow the same timeline. So the same things are happening in them at the same time. But the people don't always have to look the same, even if they're a variant of the same person. That's why there are different Lokis or Spidermen.

      I dont know when or why this idea began circulating but there just simply isnt any indicator throughout the show that points to this being the case. And the sacred timeline being more than one sequence of events conceptually does not make sense.

      @@blakehenderson8740 I just can't understand the different Loki variants then. In season 1 of Loki we saw a lot of completely different-looking Lokis though. And let's not forget Sylvie, who was even born female. None of this should be possible.

    Regarding Loki's appearance, it seems like Odin changed Loki at a genetic/molecular level, and Loki's "default state" would have been Asgardian, except when it was changed back in the presence of Jotun magic. It makes sense if you think about it, imagine some person wanting to hurt the Asgardian royal family's reputation by trying to sneak a DNA test on Loki or the guy accidentally knocking up some girl and she gives birth to a Frost Giant. Those are things that someone wily like Odin would have thought of ahead of time.

    • @lokemele23
      @lokemele23 8 месяцев назад +4

      I was thinking the spell fused Odin's DNA with Loki's, making Loki half Asgardian and half Frost Giant, with the Asgardian being dominant. Since Odin used his own DNA, he could later truthfully say Loki was his son because it was biologically so. This is also why he retained his Asgardian form inside TVA even though magic didn't work.

      To be fair to OB, throughout his whole life at the TVA (hundreds, probably thousands of years) the Sacred Timeline has been one single timeline. Firstly, it might have been a stop gap measure, but they had determined that it would not even serve as that through failure. Secondly, it is possible that he thought it could deal with a fairly infinite growth rate, but this growth rate was beyond what he expected. For example, real numbers have a different countable infinity compared to integers. Perhaps, he thought that he was dealing with the countability of integers when he was dealing with the countability of real numbers.

    Clearly the TVA experiences time, because at the beginning of the second season we see that the TVA is ruled by Kang when Loki is returned to the TVA. Then later the TVA has their memories wiped and they believe that it's the three lizards leading the TVA. This is also how Mobius doesn't remember chasing an analyst that looked like Loki before.
    So for OB to remember anything that Loki told him, it had to occur after the memory wipe. Though it's strange OB would not also remember having met Loki.
    It's really weird we have the tape recording of HWR and Revona, but no explanation of how that recording was made, I speculate that something in the scrapped episode 5 would have explained how that was accomplished.

    21:24 it’s like that episode of Star Trek, where Warf starts time slipping. It’s all on top of itself, and there is an infinite number of universes, because there is an infinite number of choices, and every choice creates a new universe. In consequential choices don’t stay diverged, they collapse. Consequential choices are nexus events. All timelines collapse at an apocalypse. I think a lot of folks miss the big Ouroboros of this season. He Who Remains shapes Loki into a master of time, to take over his role. The Multiversal War forged HWR. He Who Remains won the multiverse war by using Alioth and the TVA to prevent rival timelines from begin created. This is really important. The Loom is preventing uncontrolled timelines from spawning and releasing Kang variants that could fight He Who Remains. He tells Loki that Loki and his friends can only save the multiverse by supporting the sacred timeline plan. This is why Sylvie is so angry. She feels that the level of control He Who Remains has created removes meaning from life because they no longer have free will. What Loki and Sylvie want in the end is no sacred timeline. Sylvie convinces Loki to just let timelines run wild, to not try to control the multiverse. And this is what Loki tries to do in the end! Instead of the multiverse collapsing, he holds it together, trying to save it and allow more timelines, not just the tightly controlled sacred timeline. He Who Remains _LOSES_ His plan was to keep the TVA and sacred timeline intact.. But Loki replaces the sacred timeline with the _branching_ tree of time. This will work for a while, but according to HWR, it can't be a permanent solution.
    Because it just lets a new multiversal war happen.

    My primary gripe with the show is that it doesn't SHOW us the entire Ouroboros. We have to assume that it happens, but we don't ACTUALLY see the full "restart" at any point. We have to take Kang's word for it. Like mentioned, we don't see the "past" TVA at any point in the show. Those details are sorely missed.
    I think it's more likely that episodes 5 and 6 were rewritten to lead to Majors' potential exit. I think the original plan was to show us the Ouroboros through the "reset", and Loki reassembling the team himself(in fact, I think the reassembly shots ARE from this narrative, just recut to be the story we actually received). The key here is that we still do not have a solid answer to when/how the TVA workers had their memories erased, and the TVA rebranded to follow the Time Keepers. This would have included the Renslayer content. That's why we feel like there are plot holes and pieces are missing.

    • @proximashining776

      Why would they rewrite episodes to enable Major's exit when at the time they were filming season 2 Majors was still a popular star with no legal problems? The filming wrapped up in 2022 and Major's problems with law started in 2023.
      People involved in the making of the Loki series stated multiple times they did no reshoots for season 2. So the story couldn't have changed because of Majors, as at the time his problems started the whole season 2 was already filmed.

It deals with some implications of Einstein's work that suggests time travel might be possible, and as a result, the way time becomes an empty idea. (As Hulk notes my past becomes my present once I have traveled there). The issue of time travel also reminds me of the easiest response to the idea that A.I. will never be able to think and feel like us... absent the idea of a soul, we are the best evidence that matter in the universe can be arranged in a way that can think and feel like us. Similarly, our experience of time is the best evidence that travel "through" time is possible.

The first page or two might appear to be blank, but as is the case with a lot of books, title pages and things are often just printed on the front of the page and blank on the back. The universe branching or not wasn't a problem. A nexus event was whatever He Who Remains labeled as such, and whatever happened on the Sacred Timeline that he didn't want to happen.
      He Who Remains wanted Loki and Sylvie to reach his citadel. He said he paved the road for them. So Loki and Sylvie dying on Lamentis would be against his plan, and everything that differed from what HWR wanted was by definition a Nexus event. So their imminent death was what caused the Nexus event, not their kiss. That both things happened simultaneously was just a coincidence.

    • @Matisaro
      @Matisaro 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@apostleofninomaeinais3578 Exactly, it was branching because they were about to die which would break the sacred timeline (the lokis doing their thing is the end of the sacred timelines trajectory) so them about to die was causing the TVA to go off like a siren, the timeline was about to break.
      Or, HWR wrote everything to happen that way so he programmed the redline event to save them at just the right time.
      In fact, if you watch everything in both seasons of Loki, and realize all of the "coincidences" and "near misses/saves" were all part of a METICULOUS plan by HWR to elevate Loki to his level temporally so that he could take over for him at the TVA.
      Kang was not lying in season 1, his whole plan is just to have Loki go through the steps to grow into the god of time so he could understand and take over the TVA and with enough love and compassion for his friends to keep pruning everyone else alone at the end of time in his citadel.
      Loki however became instead the god of stories and broke his failsafe reset button loom and instead chose to build a golden throne out of the shattered remnants of the citadel at the end of time and sit alone for all time supporting the multiverse with his unlocked by centuries of knowledge and growth magic based time god powers.
      Kang taught him how to be a god to replace him in his broken TVA and instead Loki broke the prison and now it is his reign.

    @ScreenCrush I don't believe it's a plothole but couldn't it be possible the reason why He Who Remain had so many Loki variants pruned was to create a ultimate Loki? Like, what would've happened if Loki decided to kill Sylvie? It just kind of reminded me of that movie The One with Jet Li and how one variant was going to many different earths becoming stronger, smarter, better by killing his varations but in the end only two varations existed while one went into a ultimate max prison and the other had a normal life. The same thing basically happened in Loki season 2.

    • @proximashining776
      @proximashining776 10 месяцев назад

      In The One killing off his variants made Jet Li's character stronger, smarter etc. because power distributed evenly between all living variants of the same person within the multiverse. So if there was less of them, it distributed between less people. That's why the two remaining variants were both super powerful, not just the killer.
      In Loki the death of one's variant doesn't seem to give other variants of the same person any extra power boosts.

    • @maiharuka432
      @maiharuka432 10 месяцев назад

      @@proximashining776 Yeah, but technically within the MCU version of things we aren't 100% sure if that is or isn't the case. The purpose of my comment was just to bring up a possibility or similarity.
      Storywise I personally leaned into a different possibility of why all the Loki's needed to be pruned out of existences for He Who Remains to use Loki as a battery overall. Since the longer I looked at Timely prototype the more it reminded me of a prison for Loki.
      The reason for using "The One" as an example was because one variant ended up in a Prison while the other had been free this being the parallels of Loki and Sylvie. Even if killing a Loki somehow made the remaining Loki's a little bit stronger. wiser, or better doesn't necessarily means the powers of a Loki are divided but the knowledge of the Loki's he met that succeeded and failed is also a sense of that "power."
      Loki admits he wasn't good at enchanting while Sylvie did it effortlessly. Old Loki could build real illusions. Sorry if my examples are flawed.

I think about the time Thor was born Hela felt her place as heir was at risk so she made an alliance with the Frostgiants and had Laufey's child to seal the union. That's what caused the war, that's why Loki is so much like Hela in looks and abilities, that's why Loki was so small for a Frosgiant and was so easily changed to look like a full Asgardian.

      Temporal aura is identical to all variants of the same person. For example they used Loki's temporal aura to track Sylvie in season 1. Thats why they have long pauses between sentances up until loki comes up with the Idea to just destroy the loom himself. Then the pace picks up, up until the "I know champ"
    And with that Kang has lost control, he already knew what happened because time happens all at once. So the other kangs coming, he's still convinced Loki will lose to them.

    “What about the L?”
    “He Who Remains already took the L “

    I think Brad made a deal with Sylvie and she used HWR device to place him on the sacred timeline . Remember some of these Kang variants have access to a Heart of Forever type of device that can actually warp time .

    Loki had already survived the temporal radiation when he was pulled from the timeline, so, he had an idea that he could survive. He did sacrifice himself in the most Loki way by pruning his earlier self, though. Ep 6 did show us that the timelines do require an anchor to survive, so HWR's plan can still be in action. Even with Loki on the throne, someone had to be there when HWR took over. My questions; how do we know that Loki was able to grasp all timelines? In the moments he had to collect them, could Loki guarantee that all timelines were flowing in one direction? If they are not all flowing the same direction, could he have sorted the timelines by a particular event (Kang variant appearance?) and sent those in the "roots" direction away from the prosperous canopy? Was Loki able to align all timelines so that the same point in each history we in the same place? If a Kang timeline flowing backward from the others were to cause an incursion into another timeline, where could he end up?
