Hi Jeff! Thank you again for another great and informative video! I really appreciate how you aren't "extra demonstrative" like so many in this space. Just clear and concise information that's actually helpful. While the interface is interesting, I'm not sure of the value of yet another way to view chords in this new GUI for Kontact 8. What I'm really interested in is a MASCHINE software update, which has been promised but there's no official release date yet. The increased functionality of that update will decide if I go back to creating inside Reaper or continue creating in MASCHINE, and mastering in Reaper (with Izotope). But, I'm also adding some hard synths and considering building a difficult but achievable hybrid soft and hard synth setup around a MioXM MIDI interface. Have you been able to learn from anything you have seen about the details of the MASCHINE software update? And, I just saw a rumor... that NI has just discontinued a range of hardware with retailers. Things that make you go hmmmm....
You can tell this is a hard one for Jeff to show off when time-stretched sampled loops take up half the video. NI have totally lost their edge and no longer create innovative content or instruments. What is there is good quality, but I don't need more sampled content. Real pity.
Nice video, as usual. These new features are not something I would probably use. I would rather stretch my sketchy keyboard skills and just play something organically rather than have software do it for me. But I do know some music theory and have played guitar for about fifty years. I find it more rewarding to learn as I write rather than do stale practice routines. These seem to be aimed towards those earlier in their musical journey.
12:50 So I've had this issue a few times also. Sort of odd the way its done. But you have to choose the instance on the keyboard for it to recognize there's been a change sometimes. This happens often on my s88 mk2.
New sampler is great, leap is great, the cinematic guitars is niche I won't use it… maybe they will integrate that new sampler in Maschine ? That would be cool. I might update but waiting for Maschine Software (hardware) update really really, really bad.
Hi Jef. Your videos are always very interesting. I have an extra question if you can help me?. I have a problem with a plugin that to sound realistic has an original delay that puts it out of sync when it is together with other rhythmic sequences. In some programs there is the possibility of a parameter that gives the possibility of inserting a negative delay supporting the compensation of the delay plugin. Is there a parameter of this type on Maschine 2? I can't find it. Thanks

Jeff, I love the videos you put out. I love Your channel your tutorials, but I have to say I love Native Instraments has very poor customer care when it comes to their loyal customers and if this company is going to thrive, then they need to up the customer care service I’ve overspent like $1400 just in individual plug-ins in the last year from them. They now are incomplete 15 collectors when own 14collectors. And I just purchased 15 standard and I think I should not have to spend now one more penny and upgrade into collectors 15 when I’ve already given them $1400
Made same mistake years ago buying Akoustik Piano, B4 and Battery at retail. Later realizing I could have had them all in a Komplete bundle - plus lots of other stuff- for less money. I felt burned/ripped off and pissed at NI for awhile. But now i have to admit that was MY mistake. It is no secret and never has been than NI pricing is better in komplete bundles and individual retail AND that they have regular sales.
I have complete 14 collectors edition. All the stuff I've been holding out for is in the collectors edition of 15 but the upgrade price is way too high. I was considering upgrading to Complete 15 standard but the only thing I would get for my money is a Kontakt upgrade. There's a couple of other new things in standard 15 but nothing i really care about. They could have included icon bass, for example. So thats a "no", from me. They don't have a good value proposition for me and I'm more than willing to spend cash when they do.
Go Jeff! Hey I have a question about Kontact maybe you might know. When I open it, the sensitivity is super quite when I play. I have to hit the keys HARD to get a sound. I am using a kontact keyboard. How do I set the default velocity?
I really thought komplete 15 would include Low End Strings and Modular and Crosstalk Piano. If it was clear from the start it wouldn’t be included I would have bought them with their intro pricing. But their marketing made them look as regular Ni releases.
I actually like it because it add Komplete Kontrol features (I hate this software) to Kontakt. Now I can access my Maschine libraries. Cool. But what is the plan with Kontrol? Will I eventually be able to use my NKS vsts within my mk3 keyboard?
Albion One will look awesome in a scaled up Kontakt UI 😂 just kidding. I just want to be able to read it finally. Since I make my own sample libraries, it’ll be interesting to discover what the new UI design/sizing requirements are or whether it’s free form.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've been using Maschine 2 a lot less since you've switched your kontrol keyboard to mk3. I'm curious to see how your Maschine workflow has changed with the new controller and Komplete 15.
Definitely... I've been using it more in Cubase these days, reluctantly. Waiting for the new version of Maschine software, hoping it is a big leap forward (I haven't seen anything yet so I have no idea what it will look like). Honestly though, my videos are just quick ones these days... I will have more time in the future and will be able to get back to the regular Maschine programming. Thanks for not jumping ship!
Its funny I cant get my MK3 S61 to play sounds (Like MIDI isn't connected) It's not my first rodeo so I know how to make sure my MK3 s61 is enabled in Midi yet no Midi........Any Ideas ?
The interface looks kind of confusing with 2 different browsers, classic view, combinations, Leap etc, especially with Kontakt loaded into Komplete Kontrol.
I've downloaded kontakt 8 and i was trying to use the new tools like chords and phrases and it kept doing weird things and playins stuff whithout me pressing anithing, it has been a nightmare to use on maschine 2 and in Fl studio. Honestly i am quite disappointed and waiting for a long time for it.
Komplete Kontrol has chord sets, Maschine has chord sets, and now Kontakt has chord sets? Are they the same chord sets? Which of them has the most comprehensive set?
Actually… I’d say maschine chord sets has more chords, kontakt makes it easy to go up or down the octave… but so far I like the variety in Maschine better. Big difference is that you can add your own in Kontakt, can’t do that in Maschine!
Conflux looks like a Play series instrument with slightly updated interface. I don’t think Komplete 15 really has anything worth upgrading for. It’s turned into a bunch of sample libraries that really should just be combined into one instrument tbh. NI hasn’t released any real instruments in a long time. Also, I notice their videos are getting about 50% the engagement of Akai’s so suspect they are on their way towards failing.
I'm having a nightmare just trying to download this upgrade. Sometimes Native Access doesn't show the new stuff, then it does - then it lets me download and then it fails. Servers must be struggling!
I have had many issues with Native Access myself! I have to have a TON of hard drive space, and make sure any form of VPN is turned off (even the iCloud Private Relay)
I have two Komplete Kontrol MK1 keyboards and am forced to use Kontakt 6 and Komplete Kontrol 3.16 because Native Instruments has decided to stop supporting them in 2023. The two keyboards cost me a total of 1000 euros and it reminds me every day never to buy anything from Native Instruments again.
In desktop non-controller mode--all commands to Komplete Kontrol must be applied through a single drop-down menu. Also, the plug-in can not be displayed side by side with the presets. I could not get the macro controllers to display or work consistently.
Going by some of the comments, it looks like some of you have been able to contact NI. Does anyone know if that's true? Is there some way to contact them now? The reason I ask is, I bought a Maschine 3 back when it first came out, and its basically a $700 paper weight. During the initial software setup, I was prompted to call in to complete the process. I soon found out that there was no way to contact them. All you get is online troubleshooting, and that's no help. I don't want to bore anyone with a long post listing all the different things I tried. I haven't though about it in a while, so my main question is if something has changed with NI, and they're actually making contact with their customers? Its brand new and I haven't used it one time.
I'm not sure about their contact information, but I'd be happy to help with setting it up. I have plenty of their hardware, including maschine and keyboards.

Especially the Ostinato programming!!!!
Would love to hear back from someone who makes their own libraries. It's weird that even Kithara looks chunky scaled up and it is brand new.
hello, Is leap an alternative to arcade kit generator (never used cause don t want subscription but arcade kit generator seems so cool) ?
Its funny
I cant get my MK3 S61 to play sounds (Like MIDI isn't connected)
It's not my first rodeo so I know how to make sure my MK3 s61 is enabled in Midi yet no Midi........Any Ideas ?
Does the custom edit mode (via wrench button) still look like something from Windows 98?
The interface looks kind of confusing with 2 different browsers, classic view, combinations, Leap etc, especially with Kontakt loaded into Komplete Kontrol.
Did they change anything to Massive X?
Doesn't look like it ☹
@@jefgibbons :(
I wish they had split paying like Ableton :(
I've downloaded kontakt 8 and i was trying to use the new tools like chords and phrases and it kept doing weird things and playins stuff whithout me pressing anithing, it has been a nightmare to use on maschine 2 and in Fl studio.
Most of my owned products form Standard 14 and earlier are now in demo mode, and also Kontakt 8. Bit of a mess so far.
Native Instruments: "Let's Add Reverb on Previous Stuff and Call it "NEW STUFF"....
I was planning on upgrading from ultimate to collectors this black friday but not sure if i even want to upgrade.
Does iPhone 6 get IOS 18? Grow up
They didn't force you to do anything.
@@MS7.7 CAN YOU TAKE A CALL WITH YOU IPHONE 6? they force me to buy a new keyboard if i want to use komplete kontrole...
If you not using an NI controller, Komplete Kontrol is a nightmare!
please can you elaborate on how it's a nightmare? :)
In desktop non-controller mode--all commands
to Komplete Kontrol must be applied through a single
drop-down menu. Also, the plug-in can not be displayed
side by side with the presets. I could not get the macro
controllers to display or work consistently.
@@anzatzi thank you! appreciate that! :)
Kontakt resizing is a joke.
Well Jeff, you do not seem to be really happy with this update.
Komplete 15 and Kontakt 8. So confusing
$$$$$$$$$$$$ someone is making themselves filthy rich over this.
still that stupid library view?
Exactly - bldy pain - unusable.
@@oddfellow8366 Thanks for the offer. I don't have any issues setting anything up, my problem is I need them to unlock the serial number so I can use it. To be honest, its really my fault. When I bought it Guitar Center told me there were quite a few people having this issue. I just didn't think it would happen to me.
